Beautiful hotel, great rooms, polite and friendly staff. Although the staff were all polite and friendly, many of them (especially the ones in the restaurant where breakfast was served) spoke English at such a basic level that it was hard to be understood.
There was no buffet breakfast and the provision shop was shut (it was a long walk to the nearest shops).
The beach was extremely dirty. We were at the hotel in July 2009 for one week. The beautiful hotel was a ghost town with very few guests. As a result the provision of some services dropped. There was no buffet breakfast as is standard in other hotels. The convenience store was also shut - not a trivial complaint since it was a fair walk to the shops. The staff were very friendly and polite. This is a beachfront hotel, but the beach was an absolute rubbish tip. The hotel and other hotels in the area should make an effort to clean the heaps of bottles, food wrappers, nylon rope, plastic bags and other junk which is either washed in by the sea or which is brought by the big drain next to the hotel which drains onto the beach, and brings rubbish with it. My children were not able to walk barefoot on the beach. We will not stay at this hotel again.

Pool, great service, location - close to Khao Lak town/shops Standard across the board for upmarket resorts - they do not include service and government charges in menu, so expect to add around 10% to prices at the restaurants in the resorts. My friend and I had a fabulous stay at this hotel. On arrival at our room we realised we had been upgraded to a pool villa which was amazing! The staff at the hotel were very friendly and the pool was just amazing with a great waterslide as well. There is a great kids club for those with families to entertain.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : We did the Khao Sok full day adventure which was great. It included an elephant trek, kayaking and traditional thai meal.
