Our room was smelling bad and had waterstrains on the wall. As we were there out of season, it was extremely quiet and nothing for people who like to stroll around in the evening, shop or snorkel. At breakfast guests were not dressing appropriately or walking around in swimmsuits where other people were eating.

  • Restaurant Tip : Mama's restaurant at the main street is good and cheap.

All in all we had a brilliant time at the Ramada and would return. We had two childred aged 8 and 11 with us and they found the beach and pool (and the TV and wireless internet availability) perfectly adequate in the absence of any organised childrens activities.

  • Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : We went on a day trip snorkelling to Similan Island. It was fantastic and well worth it.

We had a really great week in Khao Lak and the Ramada was big part of making it all enjoyable. The rooms are large with well-laid out bathrooms, if perhaps in a slightly anonymous minimalist style. The design of the blocks means that you're not overlooked, even if you haven't opted for a bungalow - no peeking over the balcony into the next room at this hotel. Like every hotel in the tropics it fights a constant battle with the elements, and there were just the first signs of peeling varnish on some of the woodwork. The hotel fronts on to a sizeable stretch of Bang Niang beach. The water wasn't absolutely crystal clear, but we were there just after the rainy season with the rivers still dumping a lot of silt. Finally, we just have to mention the staff, who were consistently helpful, friendly and polite - a real credit to the place.

  • Hotel Feature Tip : If you do want to splash out on a private bungalow, this is the hotel to do it at. Of all the hotels we saw on Bang Niang beach the Ramada was the only one whose bungalows really did front on to their own private stretch of beach.

Family of 4 , 2 adults and 2 boys aged 13 and 16, stayed for 4 nights after 8 nights in Phuket at Club Med. Arrived at the hotel to a warm welcome from Tik at reception. She checked us in with a welcome drink and no fuss. The entrance to Ramada KL is attractive but when you get to the top of the stairs the view overlloking the pool and ocean is stunning. It is relatively low rise- 3 stories of rooms in a U shape with the reception area in the middle. It has a very contemporary feel and being new is very clean. The tiling and colour scheme/interior decorating really appealed to me. We had booked 2 interconnecting non-smoking ocean view deluxe rooms. We were given adjoining rooms as no interconnecting were available- this was OK for us as the kids are older, but would definitely have been a problem if they were younger. We didn't pursue it further as we didn't want to change rooms after a day or 2 with only 4 nights there. Our rooms had 2 double beds per room (would have preferred a king for us, which we would have got if we had got the inter-connecting rooms). The rooms were really spacious, well decorated and well appointed. The linen was very good quality as were the towels in the bathroom- fluffy, very white, nice smelling and bath sheet in size. All of the website pictures are very true to what you get. The shower was great, hot, hot, hot water and great flow. The tub was huge and all the tap ware very modern. Great toiletries, really good quality soap and quality shampoo and conditioner, sewing kit, shower gel, etc also supplied. There was also a little card in the bathroom with a list of things you could request such as toothbrush, razors, shoe shine, etc. The tV was good, big screen and lots of channels. WIFI was also easily accessed, we had 2 laptops with us and had no problems. Room also had an electric jug, coffee/tea, etc. Mini bar was supplied at reasonable charge and we used a couple of things. We had bought a small bottle of gin at the little shop nearb

The hotel is very nice and for the price I paid, it is the best hotel in terms of price performance There is not too much to do around, unless you like to go to some waterfalls that are not far. The rooms are very good. I recommend the ground floor. The major issue that I didn't like was the drainage system, it wasn't functioning so good and you could smell it.

Everything is just great Guest Rating: 5.0
