Direct beach access. Beautiful spacious rooms. Refreshing pool. Decent restaurant.

Must hire transport to get to eat out.

We are a family of four (our children are two boys aged 5 and 3 at the time of our stay). The staff were helpful. Internet was free and relatively quick (dependent on the time of day). The room was beautiful and spacious with two large beds and a view of the well-kept garden. The pool was not large but very refreshing and a nice alternative to the beach. The beach was nice and the water ranged from calm to waves adequate in size to body surf (no snorkeling in the area). The restaurant was decent. The hotel was reasonably secluded from others with the nearby area undeveloped. Town was sufficiently near to go out to eat but it required transport. All said, we would definately consider staying here again.

Restaurant Tip : Not many immediate options - will need transport. However, the hotel restaurant is adequate.

- Reasonable price - Best quality in overall - Next to beach in a private area

- Location is quite far from town e.g. might need a privide ride.

We're delighted to stay in this hotel. The room was in a comfortable sized, clean with great views. We stayed for a night only this time though but surely will come back for more on the next chance. Recommended!!

The room was large. Comfortable bed. Great hot tub and shower. We enjoyed the garden view with the large outdoor porch. The pool was nice and the restaurant had very good food at fair prices (considering the price that most hotels/resorts charge).

None

We enjoyed the garden view with the large outdoor porch. The pool was nice and the restaurant had very good food at fair prices (considering the price that most hotels/resorts charge). The room was very comfortable including a large hot tub. We loved the ocean and mountain setting and would come back to stay here again.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Try waking up just before sunrise and walking into the tip of the ocean. You can look back into the sunrise through the mountains. Incredible.

large, beautiful room and bathroom with jaccuzi; large sandy beach and very beautiful garden

chairs on the terras were not confortable, there was no free shuttlebus to the centre of kao lak, this was about 7 km away; you need a motorbike

We liked our stay in the Andamania Beach Resort, beautiful room, beautiful garden and beach, the only thing that failed was a free shuttle bus to Kao Lak. You need a motorbike, because the centre is about 7 km away and we don,t recommend to walk the last 2 km to the resort because the road is bad and dark.

Restaurant Tip : There are some small local beach restaurants not far away. Nice to have a drink or dinner.

The staff is very friendly and the rooms and breakfast are ok and so is the beach.

hotel to isolated and no Wi-Fi and boring TV

The hotel is a good one for old people or for guys who are afraid their girlfriends will leave them, because the hotel is so isolated,it must be a 40 minute walk to the street. The staff is very friendly and the rooms and breakfast are ok and so is the beach. The resaurant is basic I recommend taking a tuc tuc into town and eating there. It is more likely a 3 star than a four star hotel. no Wi-Fi and boring TV

Location, high standard, price, service

Cleaning

This hotel is no doubt the best in Khao Lak! The hotel is new and rooms is very big and of a high standard. The location of the hotel is also perfect if you are seeking peace and tranquility. The hotel is located with no hotels or restaurants near by so the scenery is very quite. The hotel lies directly by the beach. So the breakfast is eaten while looking at the beautiful sea. The breakfast by the way is also very good and the service is also high. Rent a scooter and you can drive 4 min to the nearest local marked ( be sure to buy all your food and fruit her, very cheap compared to Khao Lak) and 7/11. Drive 10 min and you are in Khao Lak Centrum We went around on the scooter looking at all the other resorts and hotels in Khao Lak and one thing was sure: The Andamania Beach Resort was the best in all the area. We would with out doubt stay her again! This hotel has our strongest recommendations

Restaurant Tip : The food in Khao Lak is generally really bad. The only place worth dinning is Hill Tribe Restaurant (Bangniang, Phetchkasem Rd. 13/22, Moo 6, Khuk Kak, Tukuapa). We have bin too Thailand many times and this restaurant makes the best Thai food ever! Hill Tribe Restaurant is a MUST when you are in Khao Lak.

Right beside the beach, but private - nice garden, new rooms.

On check-out the front-desk staff charged me 80 baht a bottle for the drinking water that every other hotel in Thailand provides daily for free. It didn't cost a lot so I didn't say anything but when you are paying this much for a room, I think you should get free drinking water.

This hotel is a little off the main road (down the same side road as Khao Lak Orchid) but is worth finding. We had a rental car so we were able to get around withouit problem, but if you didn't have transport and were staying here, you'd need to use taxis to visit the town. The resort is very new, very large rooms, all very tastefully furnished. Good food in the restaurant overlooking the beach and the sea. Tghis resort is almost alone on its stretch of beach - the neioghbouring resorts are several hundred metres away in either direction.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Keep an eye out for the police patrol boat at Khao Lak, now resting about a kilometre inland where it was deposited by the 2004 tsunami.

Friendly staff!

Not nice to see the roof. They have to take it away or finish the building! To much noice from the air conditioning!

Nice and quiet place! And it was very green also. It was a little strange that the hotel took 100baht/person to go to the city center. You can call any taxi and get it cheaper. And they have to get a better internet line, it was a little bit to slow. All the staff was very friendly and the surrondings was very beutyfull with very nice flowers!

Restaurant Tip : A small walk to the right on the beach you will find a nice and cheap restaurant. Phen´s place. try it it´s nice!

beautiful room big nice environment : garden, beach

too isolated, far from the village lobby staff not very kind

After a stay in patong beach in phuket I was looking for a quieter place and a beach for swimming. I certainly found it here. My room was exceptional big with black wood furnitures, big nice bathroom, little terrace on a tropical garden : wonderful; The beach was perfect long white sand calm perfect for swimming.A very calm and nice place; But in fact a bit far from the village, where to come back late you are in the hands of a taxi mafia. I try the restaurant: OK but service very very slow.Lobby staff not very kind, had a "snob" attitude

Hotel Feature Tip : rent a motorbike it's very useful here

It was set on a nice beach. Room was clean.

Firstly, the Andamania was not in a very good location. On the day of our arrival, we asked what was the latest we could check out without any extra charge the next day. We were told 2pm by the staff. The next day, we checked out at 2pm and they said we had to pay 500 Baht. We explained to the staff attending what we were told the day before. The manager came to settle the issue and was unhappy that we weren't going to pay. He demanded to know who the person was that told us we could stay till 2pm without an extra charge. How would we have known his name. Eventually, they told us that they would ride it off but showed a lot of displeasure about it. The restaurant was pretty crap too. Instead of serving Thai food, they were trying to make Westernized dishes which really was not good at all. They should just stick to what they are good at i.e THAI FOOD. Tourist come to Thailand to have Thai food. Finally, we had told the staff of the resort that a dive company was coming to pick us up the next day to do a live aboard trip in the Similans. When the dive company called, the resort told they we were not staying there!! The dive people rung a second time and were put through to a Swedish couple!! This was so ridiculous. We could have missed the dive trip altogether if the dive operator had not come to the resort to try to look for us anyway!! This is really bad organisation and communication skills on the resort's part. NEVER again will we be staying at the Andamania.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Located on a Nice beach.

Big rooms with feeling of exclusiveness, right on beach - no road between, nicely set restaurant.

Far from shops and other restaurants. Sunchairs on beach too few if hotel is fully booked.

This is a very nice hotel if you like tranquility and just want to be lazy in the sun. If you want to go shopping or other civilized activities you need some kind of transportation and preferably your own motorbike or car to feel more independent. The rooms in the "older" 2-stories building are very nice and big and very much worth the money. There is also a newer (4-stories?) building which should have even bigger rooms but I have not seen those. The hotel has a nice pool and also its own sunchairs on the "private" beach. In November the hotel was not fully booked but all sunchairs were occupied. I guess there will be a lack of chairs when hotel has more guests, especially with the addition of the new building.

Beautiful new and clean accommodations and grounds. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere with a secluded, clean beach. Attentive and friendly staff, who are there to help at any time. Food was delicious! Several kms. from town, which is what we wanted.

The games room, satellite TV and Internet connections were not as advertised, but we were also there before the high season and some things are not finished yet as the hotel is new. Some items on the menu were not available.

We have just returned from 10 days at the Andamania and were delighted with the accommodations, the rooms and grounds. The food was delicious and varied, breakfast good too. Even the Pizza! And what a treat to eat while watching the sun set over the Andaman Sea. The staff were all friendly and most helpful. We were there to relax, so the secluded beach and reasonable distance from town was what we wanted. By renting a motor-scooter we visited sites in the area at will, and our day tours were efficiently planned by the staff. We were thrilled with our activities and will consider returning. Since it was low season there was a problem not having the satellite TV and room internet functioning as expected. There were also a few menu items not available.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : By motor scooter we visited other beaches, small villages and went shopping. We particularly enjoyed the open market, the waterfalls and the Tsunami Museum.
