Beautiful mountain beach resort with fabulous view
great location on the cliff side, set in natural environment on a quiet, clean beach.

The staff were friendly. There is a nice massage place on the beach. The breakfast was fine but nothing special. The location is quiet and relaxing. The rooms were spacious and airy. It is a short walk to many restaurants and other resorts and easy access to the fishermans village and waterfall by taxi or private car. You can also sea kayak and snorkel from hotel as well as arrange boat tours to the surrounding islands for snorkelling and fishing.

although this resort was in fact set in beautiful gardens with ponds and pools and on a very pretty beach, the entrance gates were scruffy and unkempt. as this was all i saw when i first arrived and was whisked off to my cliff view room i was nervous. i was travelling alone (unexpectedly as my partner was called to business) and was startled by the complete lack of english spoken by the receptionist. the little thai i knew was not helpful either as the girl was from cambodia. i was not given any information about the hotel, nor did i understand where breakfast or dinner would be or even where my room was in relation to the rest of the resort. i was taken to my room and despite asking for a map and information, i was given neither. i was given an upgrade which should have been very pleasant but as i was on my own i had chosen a room on the lower levels with easy access to the sea and dining, and people, whereas i was in one of the highest rooms (albeit luxurious) away from the hub, up very long flights of stairs with subtle lighting against the jungle back drop, which i had to negotiate at night, alone.
the beach area was lovely. unfortunately there were not enough loungers as the other hotel guests (all russian without any english) had taken them.
although one or two staff were very sweet and friendly, most of the other staff had only a smattering of english and also a strangely unfriendly stare which was completely different to the experience of the thai people i met in bangkok, who were accommodating and friendly.
Travel tip:
If you are English, be prepared to not be understood or smiled at by the majority of staff or the other guests... Unless you speak Russian or Cambodian or fluent Thai.

Best place to stay on Kai Bae Beach

This was the first time staying at Cliff Beach in Kai Bae. After the stay, I would definitely stay here again. The best part about the place is the Pool on the top. It is difficult to walk up but that helps keep people away. The view is spectacular. I would stay here again just for this.
The beach was clean and a good place to chill. The breakfast was just ok but you could eat outside which helped make it better.
Overall, I was happy with the stay.

Could be SO much better. Package deal hell

One of the reasons I chose this hotel was because the manager took the time to reply to comments. I’ve always seen this as a sign of a caring & proactive management which can only mean a good hotel. In this case, I couldn’t have been more wrong.
The hotel claims to be 4 star & I could go on & on about all the things that are wrong with it but I’ll stick to the headlines.
I should have suspected something when I emailed twice to ask for guidance from the airport to the hotel & got no reply. I got an unfriendly welcome on arrival & was made to feel like I was getting in the way of the receptionists telephone call (which she carried on with as she checked me in). The only friendly members of staff I met were in the restaurant (though the food, especially the breakfast, was awful). Overripe & old fruit, cold spring rolls, tough chicken with cold cauliflower - the one meal I had there was basic & overpriced. Then, & remember this is a ‘4 star’ hotel, the wifi isn’t free (50 baht for 25 minutes), the rooms don’t have a safe, kettle or shower gel & if I’m being really picky, no robes & slippers (just very old and dirty rubber flip flops).
Then there’s the location. This was once a beautiful hotel on a beautiful beach but now it’s a 7am ‘towels on the sunbeds’ joint, surrounded by hostess bars, Russian bars, tourist tat shops.
The Pirate Bar opposite the hotel is a particular ‘joy’ to listen to from your room – esp. if you like live Russian renditions of songs from the old country. And finally, the hotel guests are predominantly package tour Russians and are RUDE! I might just have been unlucky – there might have been a coach party in when I stayed there & I can’t be bothered to go on about them as it makes me sound xenophobic but if you know about Russians in Thailand, you’ll feel my pain. (If you don’t, then Google it or regret it!)
So, over to the manager to rebut & make it sound like the hotel is a great place. Good luck to you if you book it!!

With a nice view hotel by the beach, where can relax and enjoy the vacation or where to have a romantic staying. Liked that hotel very much and recommendate it for everyone. The swimming pool was clean and it was nice to relax at them. The personal had smiled all the time and help end with pleasure if it was necessary a very nice hotel go the and enjoy it. I wanna get for sure there back.
