excellent service
good room
nice view
transportation if have to point as "unsatisfactified"
First arrival we got warm welcome and greetings by the gentleman receptionist who took good care of us in the whole stay and told us our room was upgraded. He's really helpful in transporation guide and local info providing. The room services were kept in same level of carefulness-I found there're addtional big and small bags for use when I left a short note said please leave alone all the plastics bags we brought with us in our room since still need them and so lovely were the different style towel-elephants housekeeping put on bed every night. Breakfast is good and near beach...it'll be perfect if the gate of the hotel was closer to the main road.
Travel tip : There're several restaurant near Tropicana. The family-style one also a cooking school we tried is good though a little bit expensive. There's elephant camp just on the opposite of the hotel entrance on the main road.

Very gentle staff
Room clean and quiet
Excellent location on the beach
Great swimming pools
The restaurant REQUIRES to be improved to match the quality claimed by the whole resort.
It is sad to see the majority of the guests showing at the restaurant bordering the resort and litterally fleeing the resort food...
trust only yourself when deciding to go for a trip or not
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Definitely skip the elephant trip and go for the day jungle trip. You `ll have worth a lot more than a day of memories...

Relaxing, Maneejan-The Massage Therapist, Massage on the beach, clean rooms. The waiter at the restaurant remembered that I preferred coffee-mate to milk and made sure there was plenty on hand for me at breakfast time.
Housemaid accidentally left my patio door unlocked when airing out the room. Thankfully, I checked the doors when I returned. Wifi signal doesn't work for rooms located near beach. Had to use my computer in the main lobby area.
This hotel is not located near busy bars and beach goers. There's not much touristy shops located nearby, which I liked. The bakery on the main road is no longer open. The staff were very helpful. They offer wifi for a fee. I think it was 200 baht/hour. But, you can use their computers next to the main lobby area if you don't bring a laptop. The gardens, ponds, and walkways are beautiful. I got an awesome picture when I spotted a cat who just caught a fish from their pond. The staff upgraded my room from a superior to a deluxe closer to the beach for free without my asking. Room service was prompt. The tour guide, Jason, was fun to chat with while waiting for transfers. I didn't realize Tropicana had tour programs available. I booked a roundtrip transfer to/from airport (350 baht/each way includes ferry fee), AWESOME jungle/elephant trek (Tan Trekking) and Tree Top Adventure through Evolution Tours; which is located down the street less than a five minute walk. The pool is gorgeous. The massage on the beach is so worth the additional cost compared to one on the roadside. Maneejan, their massage therapist, is older and very experienced! As a massage therapist, I have to say, she gave me the BEST traditional Thai massages I've ever had!!! If you want her to stay later, just let her know in advance. Even though they advertise massages till 9PM, usually they leave earlier around 4 or 5PM. Personally, I preferred their Thai food over their western dishes.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Evolution Tours were nearby and very professional. I would highly recommend them. If you are not sure of what there is to do, they can recommend activities based on what you like. If you decide to do either the Tree Top Adventure or Jungle/Elephant Trek, be prepared to work. The Tree Top Adventure requires upper body strength. And, the Jungle trek is no walk in the park. Both left me feeling a sense of accomplishment, in a good way.
