quiet, very green, excellent food
Nirvana has very large rooms, nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. The staff is very nice and helpful. The food is great, and the restaurant is beautiful! Overall, I was very pleasantly surprised!
Restaurant Tip : Nearby Bang Bao village offers fresh high-quality seafood, shops and bars.

Beautiful bungallow just on the beach, very tastefully furnished, nice pools, nice & friendly & helpful hotel stuff, absolutely quiet place for relaxing, not crowded, beautifull restaurant with excellent food.
Quite small beach. Impossible to swim because low tide and low level of the sea...
This was an amazing peaceful place for holiday at the end of the world. We enjoyed staying there very much and recommend it to everybody who wants to relax with a book by the pool. Near Bang Bao village is an amazing place to visit and try some of numerous seafood restaurants and little shops. Absolutelly great hotel stuff trying to help with everything. Excellent hotel restaurant. Want to come back again...
Travel tip : Rent a motorbike and discover surrounding beaches.

seclusion, beauty, exec studios are right on the seafront
2bed apartments have been split up into 1 bed flats and "new studios" to make a bit of extra money. make sure you are not being given one of these. also, cant really swim there at low tide.

Beautiful balinese design bungalows, soft bed and varied natural surroundings, the combination is magic. The lovely air restaurant is designed around mangroves. All in all very green, tropical and laid back.
Note there is no real beach at Nirvana - and the sea is not ideal for swimming - it can fill up with plastic and other trash from nearby Bang Bao. Two very minor irritants were - the very liberal use of chemicals in the saltwater swimming pool - goggles essential for swimming and poolside music consisting of one CD/tape on loop, where no music would have been better.
We chose the Nirvana for a few days rest - and could not have made a better choice. The hotel is quiet, and secluded. The location is ideal for kicking back with a good book at one of the swimming pools, or just taking in the view across the water to Bang Bao port, or watch the sea eagles hunting in the bay. Some of the bungalows are on the edge of the water, so you can sleep to the sound of the waves - very relaxing! Bang Bao village is a 10 minute walk and provides excellent sea food, shops, tours and diving possibilities.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Hire a motorbike for getting to beaches, shopping and touring the island - good yamaha automatics are available in nearby Bang Bao for B250 per day

- exclusively decorated clean bungalows with wooden ornaments
- the service and facilities worked well, the receptionists were helpful. Free shuttle van & driver are available to take you to the wharf and back
- serene location at the sea bay with the great views from the beach side bungalows
- the resort has the best restaurant in the area; the menu is exceptional and innovative
- free movies take from the reception lounge to be watched in your bungalow
- the resort has their own beach, which is quite narrow and debris drifts from the other part of the bay at the shore. However, the staff makes their best to clean the beach regulary
We got a good portion of privacy in this "last resort" in the southern Ko Chang. The restaurant is expensive, but worth of to enjoy again and again. We can recom Nirvana for those who search an exclusive up-ranked resort with a portion of solitude in Ko Chang. During our stay, we did not meet bus loads of crowds or have a sign of mass tourism there.
Restaurant Tip : Try also restaurant Buddha in the end of wharf

Isolated Resort if you like that and close to Pier that has excellent live sea food in tanks.
Far away from everything.
Nice English guy running the place. Staff needs more experience. Road to resort needs improvement. Rent a car or motorbike and explore this very hilly and beautiful island. Blues place on white sand beach ok if you like live music. Water shortage in resort and no hot water when I was there...
Hotel Feature Tip : For sunset around 6 pm take the rock walk 200 yards and bring drinks that is simply wonderful!!!

in the middle of nowhere
no beach access
The resort Nirvana is located in the middle of nowhere. Too expensive, bad road to access the resort, urgently needs construction work. Far away from every point of interest. To rent a car or motorbike is a must. Breakfast is included, but we paid for every extra like a second bacon or a second egg. Expensive shuttle bus.

Comfortable bed, attentive staff, quiet (very) location.
Getting there - very small beach (virtually none).
Nirvana is a very individual hotel. The rooms are uniquely decorated, but very comfortable. The location is very very quiet, with a nice snorkeling area. The gardens were a little unkempt, with an atrocious access road - beware if you are arriving with your own car !! Overall we enjoyed our stay, but it wouldn't be for everyone. If you have a family, go for a busier resort.

quiet, beautiful sunrises and sunsets
ants on the restaurant tables
This resort is a fantastic place to get away and relax in Thailand. We had a wonderful stay. The staff was very friendly and spoke excellent English. The service was excellent. The sunsets are breathtaking. Dinning at the restaurant is delicious and the view is great. We ate the best Pad Thai here ... and learned how to cook it ourselves with the help of cooking classes with the chef.

Quiet location with delightful fresh ocean breezes plus a delightful view over Bang Bao bay. Top quality rooms and staff. Two great pools, fresh and salt water.
The prized chef had sadly departed since our previous stay and it showed.
As this was my second stay I was wondering if Nirvana was as good as I remembered. It was! You will not find a better value boutique resort on Koh Chang. Located as far south on the island as you can go, at the end of a very rough entrance track you find an oasis from heaven. Only 11 bungalows ensures privacy and peace whilst being attended to with courtesy and attention to detail. I will definitely return again.
Restaurant Tip : A short walk takes you to Bang Bao pier with a wide choice of seafood restaurants, shops and supplies. Nirvana intends to shortly have two boats to ferry guests over – a great idea.

This hotel is located in a very quiet environment. The room is spacious and clean. It has two pools.
You cannot swim at the beach in front of the hotel. If you want to swim, you must do so in one of the pools or stay at the other places.
Though the hotel is far from the ferry port, more than one hour taxi ride it is not at all a weakness to this hotel. You can enjoy quiet resort atmosphere to the full. The restauranr on the beach is also excellent. Staff is also very good.

We were very impressed with the room being spacious, modern and clean and right on the beach front, with our own balcony and reclining beds on the beach. The room is equipped with a modern TV and DVD system (with free DVDs to borrow) and room safe.
The main drawback is that the hotel is down a 500 meter unfinished road which if you do not have transport means a long walk to the shops/bars/restaurants. Bang Bao is also only a small village with not much to offer for more than a day or two. The beach is also fairly small and not the best quality.
I would definitely recommend this hotel. The room (a beach front studio)was very impressive being spacious and modern and right on the beach front with its own private beach beds. The hotel has a restaurant looking out to sea although we found the food quality to be not the best. The hotel is very cut off though being 500 meters from Bang Bao down a small dirt road. Without a car it becomes very difficult to get around so a great hotel if you want privacy and seclusion but not so good if you want to explore the island. Staff and general facilities were also very good. We also made friends with one of the local beach dogs which I guess some people might not like.
Restaurant Tip : No shops nearby so stock up on beer/coffee/snacks at the local 7 eleven in Bang Bao.

the rockwalk is an excellent way to view the sunset.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : we took our car on the ferry. cost 100 baht plus 60 baht per person. but we ended up hiring a motorbike as its much easier to get around the island by bike.

Overall, we would come back here in a heart beat. The resort is on a large piece of property with both sunset and sunrise views but maintains the feel of a boutique luxury hotel. The friendly, helpful staff really completed the experience.
Restaurant Tip : When you head into Bang Bao, turn away from the pier and head towards the road. You'll find great Thai food in little huts that are a nice balance to all the seafood on the pier.
