Nice surroundings, good evening view of the sea and a pleasant vibe... One of the managing stuff is very sarcastic and not to my liking, acts like this is the only option at Koh Chang??? Toilets in our cottage seemed to be dirty. Overall somehow ok, but we will not return.

Decent room for a nice quiet stay at budget price

I stayed 3 nights in a A/C bangalow. The room was clean but quite poor maintenance. Air condition did not work well, not coldt like
A fan and have strange smell. I like the nice cozy area at beach front with some hammocks. Staffs are friendly.

Nice sea view and stylish, but horrible staff

My boyfriend and I stayed there for 4 nights. We like the the style of the hotel and the excellent sea view and balcony we have. The location of it is very good. It is quiet, but close to restaurants, shops and the beach. But the staff are horrible.
The staff are always grumpy. They always reject u when u ask them to help,e.g.ask them for a hair dryer or help us make a free local phone call. My bf was so angry about the staff not giving him his coffee when we ordered breakfast. He asked them three times abt it in 30 mins. But they were so busy chilling or surfing on the facebook instead of serving us. Finally they press the button for hot water for the instant coffee when someone from the travel agent was there to pick us up. And this is just one of the incidents we came across from all the horrible staff.
If you don't care about the service at all, but the location, view and cost. This a hotel that you should choose. Don't pick this hotel if you expect good service.

Calm peaceful place with wonderful view on the sea

We really enjoyed our stay in Paradise Cottage. The stuff is very friendly and helpful, well english speeking. The bungalows are modern (we had the "sea view") and confortable. But the best of all are the shelters close to the bar with hamocks and folding beds with the sea view. Just lying down there and drinking the fruit shakes - you could spend your life like this!:-) The only reproach I have: quite small portion of food. But that you can solve out in the "town". For your information: there is a stony access to the see. But you can handle it. And if you don´t like it, the Lonely Beach is about ten minutes of walk.

Absolutely gorgeous view...from my room as well as the bar / restaurant area...They had a DJ as well who played amazing music keeping us in the groove and Chris at the bar made an awesome bucket!! Loved my time here!

Don't stay here: Impatient, racist and unfriendly

thus has to be my worst hotel experience despite the hotel's nice property and views. as i was leaving the restaurant staff ganged up on me and put a pizza on my bill that i had not eaten. they had made the mistake and when they realized they would have to pay, they got the white barman to say he had seen me eat the pizza. this hotel is twice as expensive as others with better value. as i was leaving their bulldog tore my suitcase half apart and the owner apologized he did not like the black color. extremely racist place. if you are a darker person of color only stay here if you are accompanied by a european or whit skin asian person. otherwise, you will feel unwelcome. that was my experience.
Hotel Feature Tip:
You can pay about 100 bhatt less for all the trips they haave organized. Just walk out on the road and they are also better value and cheaper. Snorkeling was amazing for me.

Don't stay here: Calm, serene with hammock

The hotel was nice with a terrible customer service attitude. Like usual they want you to speak Thai and still collect your dollars in Thailand. The receptionist blocked Agoda reservation and I refused to pay her higher walk in rate. It is a nice place if you are a white or a family of Asian travelers. I was just brushed off at the restaurants and told by one of the guests that i did not look like a Canadian. Avoid this place as it is racist.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Last hotel in town and walkable in the day to the next beach town. About twenty minute walk to the beach.

we took cottage on first line and enjoyed sounds of sea. it is doesn't have beach, but you can walk 15 minutes to nice beach. friendly owner, they have some simple food and drinks.

A friendly, homely place with great views

After spending a few nights here, we decided to book two extra nights. The staff we very friendly and accommodating. On our first night our sitcom didn't work, however they moved us to another room straight away which had the same amazing views on the beach. The chilled, relaxing platforms that surround the bar area are a perfect way to watch the sun set over the sea.
We ate in paradise cottages each evening and the food was lovely- would recommend the huge pizzas!
Reception were able to book us the elephant trip which was an amazing experience as well as our bus back to Bangkok and on both occasions, the trips ran smoothly.
If your looking for luxury, there are lots of five star places on koh Chang... However if your looking for somewhere that is basic but clean and friendly paradise cottages is a good start... Don't be put off by the long walk down to the cottages from the road.
