Pretty beach and pool. Breakfast was good.
Rooms were not clean and desperately need updating. Hallways are loud. Internet is NOT free. Hotel is overpriced.
My wife and I reserved a room here at V.J. Hotel & Health Spa in April 2009. We were impressed by the pictures that we saw on the internet of the property. We drove 4 hours from Bangkok and were tired when we arrived. We were impressed by the open-air lobby, but we were instantly unimpressed by the rooms. We found the room to be dingy and dirty. They desperately need updating! Also, the halls are all tiled, so every sound in the hall will echo throughout your room. So be prepared to be awakened by excited children and people talking in the halls going to the pool at 6am!
The pool area was nice, and the beach was nice. These are the ONLY selling points! However, when you go back to your room to go to sleep at night, you will be reminded of your college dorm room. We do not recommend staying here. There are many other hotels in the same price range on the island that are much better!

Nice and Clean, Close to the sea, Friendly staff, A lot of TV channels (good if it rains), good food.
No sea view (only have 3 rooms in total with sea view).
Gap below the door to the hallway making one hear people walking outside quite easily.
Nice and clean hotel with friendly staff. Rooms were in good conditions, but we didn't care much for the gap below the door to the hallway (it makes one hear everyone outside walking).
Hotel is right on the beach, but there's only 3 rooms in the whole complex that has a beach view.
A good restaurant and tons of tv channels keeps you occupied on a rainy day...

Quiet location right next to the beach. Easy to walk for a swim or go to the nearby bars to enjoy a drink or meal by the sea
Breakfast not the best- needed more choice and change each day
We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is close enough to the beach and many food places. It's a good place if you're on a budget and proof you don't have to spend a lot to get an enjoyable place and base to explore the island. We'd definitely come back again for another stay!
Restaurant Tip : Walking distance to many small bars and restaurants

Beach in front of the hotel is beautiful. You can see a great sunset from the beach.
Just one minute walk from the beach.
Everything is so-so. Nothing great about this hotel.
There is nothing great or spectacular about this hotel. Everything is just average but there is nothing to complain about. Considering the hotel fare, V.J. Hotel and Spa is just OK.

on the beach, clean, quiet, nice breakfast buffet, internet access on the spot, in-room safe.
overpriced restaurant, bathroom pipes clogged, no remote control for the air conditioner
The hotel lived up to our expectations. The guests were mostly middle-aged couples and families. We enjoyed the all-you-can-eat breakfast, although we would have liked a choice of breads (only white bread available) and a wider choice of fruits (only papaya, watermelon and pineapple available). Internet (50 baht / hour) and day's newspapers available at the reception. I believe some rooms had internet wi-fi for those who bring a laptop, but the in-room safe will not accomodate a laptop unless it's a small one. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant as we found it overpriced, but there are a few Thai restaurants at Thai prices within a short walking distance, and also one serving great hamburgers (around 100 baht) and sandwiches.
The bathroom was nice and spacious, but the pipes were clogged and so the water was slow to drain out.
This is a place to stay if you're looking to get away from it all. If you're looking for an area with more action, go to Whitesand beach.

Very nice place with direct access to the beach, breakfast with view over the beach and nice stuff. The rooms are very big, very clean and you have everything in it that you need. There is a nice pool in front of the hotel so that you can change between sea and beach.
The light in the bathroom was quite dark and the water of the shower cold.

There is a nice restaurant called Ko Kitchen in de same street as the hotel (very delicious Thai food at a good price). The light in the bathroom was quite dark and the water of the shower cold.
Restaurant Tip : Ko Kitchen in the same street.

The hotel is very nice located, with direct access to the beach. Breakfast offers a wide variety of thai and eastern food and you sit outside with view over the sea. Very clean rooms and nice staff.
No hot water and little bit dark bathroom.

Not enough seats by the pool as families come down and leave towels on them and then disappear for hours! Very frustrating!!
The hotel was good in general. Nice pool and very close to the beach and some restaurants (food in hotel was very good but a little overpriced). Nice clean room. We didn't have the sea view room but to be honest it made little difference. Its away from the busier nightlife areas but easy enough to get to, so not a hassle.
Just a note, if you are trying to leave Koh Chang on the 2nd of Jan- its a bit crazy with everyone trying to get off at the same time and the road gets jammed.(It took us 3 hours to get off the island) Leave early or better still leave on a different day. Enjoy!!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Rent a jeep/ bike and get over to the east of the island. The waterfalls there are almost empty while the ones on the west side are quite busy.
Your national park ticket gets you into all the national parks (waterfalls) if used on the same day.

- Good, large, clean rooms
- Helpful staff
- Clean pool with towels
- Great beach area. Really long so if you like to walk it's great
- Good food at restaurant
- Good breakfast- able to make own omlettes etc.
- Not close to many restaurants or shopping. There were a few close by, but hotel is secluded- this could be viewed as a positive or negative thing.
Good hotel all around. If you like to be secluded, then this is the place for you. If you like to be able to walk and be close to many restaurants and shops, then choose a hotel in White Sands or some of the other beach areas.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : - Rent a scooter and travel the whole island. Don't forget to go to Bang Bao area for great shopping and the Klong Prao waterfall.

location on the beach , nice pool area, nice breakfast buffé Nice sea view
Unfortunatly we had several items that went missing while staying there, a tempur neck pillow and a bag with toilet items and other things worth at least 100$ Despite contact with the owner we met no sympathy. I recommended them that they talk to their staff about this probelm I had gladly paid a finders reward for my things. Also was told that a shirt I had forgotten on the bed when checking out wasn't there but when I checked the room myself it was in the sheets all budled upp on the bed. We would also have preferred the choice of 2 single beds in the seaview room.
Restaurant Tip : Nids Kitchen, Tatti, Yummies all good eating places.

Hotel is two floors, long and narrow; placement is such that only 4 rooms have ocean view (ocean view is from front windows, over pool and out to beach); while these rooms have a very small balcony, it is on the side of the building with no ocean view.
Hotel Feature Tip : Spa is wonderful - 2 level, open air, wonderful prices for full range of spa services.

Beach is a quiet private ครับ good.
Be chair Beach หน่อย laundry. Or e กิื of Marine Wash bit to play it.
Room rates are considered clean, beautiful ครับ inexpensive ครับ. It will be the closet a little balcony. Then the hotel can not order food to eat in the room yes on call.Order that the restaurant down the order. (Suspect to hold up again eat own) head-mouth divide (Walk out approximately 300-400 meters) is enough to store several shops ครับ.
Travel tip : อิ๋ shop owner suggested that ครับ. Delicious and cheap. Shop อิ๋ the older sister to drive back to Raa Hweag before the white sandy beaches ครับ. The very crowded store. Recommended from 5-6 pm to ครับ.
