I highly recommend Warapura Resort. I stayed in the private villa for four nights after following the recommendation of several others on Agoda. It is a one (large) room, one (large) bathroom accommodation with the rooftop balcony. The room was very spacious with windows all the way around.
If you are looking for an extremely relaxed, and romantic getaway I would definitely recommend it.
It is at the end of a small road with a lot of restaurants and conveniences nearby. You can find several great restaurants, laundry, and rent a motorbike all within 100m.
Although it is on the water, there isn’t really a beach. It is a rocky entrance but there are plenty of sandy beaches nearby. The pool was clean and nice to relax in after a day at the beach. The breakfast was good, offering a variety of foods from cereals, omelets made to order, soup, … an above normal free breakfast.

Quiet resort, but no beach - unles you like rocks!

Warapura is a nice place, has a great pool overlooking the ocean, but there's a huge dirty hole in the middle of the resort which just looks unfinished, the staff service was very poor - we had to get out of the pool, walk to the restaurant and ask for a drink as nobody even came round to see if guests were okay.
If you want a place that's away from things, including the sand beach, then this is it. I think there's better options for the money.

Booked here after reading AGODA reviews and have to say I agreed with them. For the money this resort
is super value for money, beautiful grounds/gardens, super pool and high quality room. Super restaurant and bar to watch the sun set over the sea. Well located walking distance to many bars and restaurants. Only negative is that its a good 10 minute walk along a basic track to the beach, but we knew that when we booked and it was no problem for us. Great place to stay, loved it

Perfect place in Lonely Beach if budget is ok

If I ever go back to Lonely Beach I will stay at Warapura again. If you're looking for the atmosphere of the 'backpacker' culture that Lonely Beach has to offer, but you want a little more luxury than a hostel, this is the perfect place. It is a 3 minute walk to the main road and all the restaurants and bars are right there. I stayed in a Seaside Villa, but if I went back I'd recommend one of the two-story rooms since they have rooftop lounges and patios. Also, the restaurant is a great place to lounge and hangout.
Restaurant Tip:
Barrio Bonito in Lonely Beach is the best Mexican food I've found in 16 months in Thailand.
