A nice hotel in the upper segment.
Nice style of modern bungalows close to the beach.

Run Down 2-3 Star Hotel on with Poor Service
Beach (app. 100 meters walk from hotel) is beautiful
4.3
We booked a premium sea view room. To our suprise and dismay, there was no sea view, even when standing on our tip toes to try to look over the dense vegetation. We did however have a perfect view of the hotel outdoor bar and restaurant, which were directly below our room. So we heard screaming and coughing children there all day; and loud dinners and parties there until about midnight each evening. The service was definitely the worst we have ever experienced in our 14+ trips toThailand. It offered none of the Buddhist elegance and charm (eg. Bangkok or Koh Chang). Rather, most of the staff was not engaged....or just downright rude. Example: (A waiter actually told us "Get out of here!" making rude hand gestures when we went down to breakfast at 7:20.....even though breakfast officially started at 7.00. The entire resort is completely run down. And the beach is nice -- if you walk app. 100 meters past the rocks located in front of the hotel.

Great location but facilities are treacherous.
Beach front, good food and swimming pool.
6.7
Unfortunately we had an in-room accident that forced us to interrupt our trip and return home. Beware of the many tripping hazards through out the hotel.

awesome pool, great location, great beach
close to beautiful beach, nice swimming pool, romantic room,

The staff here were friendly and went out of their way to help us with anything we needed. The room was really clean and comfortable. It was a romantic place to stay on our honeymoon. The stunning pool was right outside our door. My only criticism was with the day spa.. overpriced and terrible service, walk down the street and go somewhere else for half the price. Nice food in the restaurant and great location. the beach here is lovely. We did a snorkeling trip recommended with the hotel which was great and diving with Scubafish was also great.
Travel tip:
go diving and/or snorkeling

Overpriced, outdated & not worth it.
Front desk staff & driver was nice
4.3
The hotel has a fancy brochure & nice pictures making it look super nice & worthy of the price-but it's not. There were no amenities or service justifying the high price. The rooms need updating & some maintenance. The railings are rotting away so bad, chunks of wood fall off when you touch them. The rooms are dark & some cushions are dirty. The tv did not work & neither did the dvd player even after they fixed them. Wifi was horrible, only working if you stood in an area near reception. Had 2 computers for guest use but 1 was broken. There was a travel office there but it was out of business. Breakfast was very substandard; not even brewed coffee but only instant. Pool is beautiful but shaded so very cold all day. Advertised as pool villa room but we were not near pool & saw only the edge of it from our deck. Far drive from arrival pier & passed many prettier, cheaper places on the way or same priced ones that offered so much more. We rented a motorbike to drive around & spent as little time as possible at hotel. They provided water & many towels which was good. With so many hotels available & better choice I would stay elsewhere. They need to lower price or raise their standards. They are using past reputation maybe to ask that price??

Needs a face lift
Location and the bar has a lovely position
4.7
I think this hotel could do with a face lift and a better chef, we had a sea view apartment number 1 and the room was very dark yet pleasant and a good size with a beutiful view the bathroom was poor and basic but the hotel is in a great location. I just feel the place is totally un loved and needs a face lift, the entrance to our apartment was along a passage and the wall leading to it is so dirty you feel as if your heading towards the bin area rather than your room, it's lacking flowers, colour and small personal touches. The breakfast is a shocker and looks like something you would see in a nasty cafe, again the presentation and effort is just lacking.

Nice and quiet Resort with beautiful pool
The view overlooking to the bay
7.7
Since it's a small resort, it's quiet and not many people. The location is considered far but you have everything you need around there! restaurants, little shops, massage places, and 7/11.
The room is nice and comfy with a little patio that you can sit outside and relax.
The pool is beautiful and refreshing!
The beach is nice and breezy!

Fabulous Hotel with amazing evening seafood BBQ
Lots of steps so not great for little ones
8
i loved this hotel, the location was just beautiful on an amazing stretch of very peaceful beach. my husband wasn't so keen because it's on a hillside and there are a lot of steps, when you're chasing a two year old it can be quite hazardous but that was our fault for not thinking of that when we booked it. also there is a large drop on one side of the infinity pool and our daughter was desperate to run around the outside of it which was obviously not an option. the rooms were really beautiful and spacious and you are able to open the window from your bed and look out onto the pool. in the evening they have a gorgeous seafood bbq which was fantastic and we even splashed out and bought wine the three nights we were there and it was so worth it as it was delicious and a real treat. it was very chilled out and relaxing place and i would definitely recommend it to others but perhaps not if you have toddlers with you.

Great location but terrible facilities and pests
6
We stayed at Baan Lannta during the low season in late August and were so disappointed with the hotel and facilities that we left after a few days and checked in to another hotel down the beach for the remainder of our week long holiday. The website definitely makes the hotel look nicer than it really is. ROOM: The room we checked into had a lovely sea view but it was infested with ants. There was a colony of ants in the closet that got into my laptop and scared the hell out of me when I turned my PC on. Ants on our bed and ants on my son's daybed. Ants on the floor mat in front of the door that the maid kept sweeping out to no avail. We told the front desk about it and they sent in a housekeeper armed with only a broom which did absolutely nothing. We asked for ant spray and just got a blank stare due to the language barrier. BEACH: low season means very high tides and there was absolutely no possibility of beach chairs being placed out because the tide came all the way up to the seawall. The beach was completely inaccessible during the morning hours while our son was awake and low-tide coincided with his nap time at 1pm so we could not enjoy the beach until late afternoon. POOL: At first, the pool looked clean but upon closer inspection, there was some layer of white powder or pollen on the bottom of the pool and I just didn't feel comfortable letting my son go in so we avoided the pool as well. FOOD: the room included breakfast but by day 3 we couldn't stand the same low quality "ham" and "sausage" that tasted like it came out of a can. The coffee was terrible and the tea always had some kind of nasty film on the top. SERVICE: the staff were friendly but not very helpful. SPA: it is just one big room with not much privacy and all the sounds from the street and reception could be heard. The day we checked out we just said thanks and goodbye and didn't bother asking for a refund as the holiday had been pre-paid and we knew we'd get nowhere with our request
Restaurant Tip:
Skip the hotel restaurant and eat at the other cafes within walking distance like Drunken Sailors,, Spices and Herbs, and Bakantiang - the food is much better and cheaper.

We were checked in to room 3 which has beautiful views of the coast-line and lovely set-up. This is where the positives for the hotel end....the first night, noise from the bar continued until 3am - this was very very loud in our room. We consequently got no sleep and it ruined our energy for the next day.
We asked to move rooms and forfeit the extra money we spent for a seaview. We were put towards the back of the resort and the room was okay - very dark though. The airconditioner didn't seem to work however so we notified reception. After numerous complaints, 4 hours later we insisted that someone come and look at the airconditioner and fix it. They reluctantly did this at 10pm (late for us considering the previous night we'd hardly slept).
That night we notified the management that we would be checking out early and would like a refund for the last 2 days. We were assured that we would be given a cash refund in the morning. This didn't go to plan. In a nutshell, we did get our refund but the amount of arguing and 'fibs' that occurred really put a damper in our holiday. The management here are incompetent...its not just a language barrier, the customer service is terrible.
The breakfast was terrible too - we didn't bother on the second day.
We moved up the road to another hotel, paid an extra $20 a night and it was by far the best hotel in our 7 weeks that we stayed at.
I recommend avoiding this hotel and finding an alternative - the extra money is well worth avoiding the stress of this place.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Avoid Room 3 due to noise from the bar at night.
