-Good view.
-Nice beach.

-Bungalows were nicely furnished and definitely livable. -Nightly seafood BBQ at the resort seemed a bit on the pricey side. I would recommend Ban Laanta. Laanta island itself is pretty peaceful compared to Phi Phi; there are far less tourists. It is kind of a pain to get there though (a long taxi ride and a couple of ferry rides).
The bungalows at Ban Laanta were very nice. Nice hard-wood floors, our balcony over-looked the beach, nice shower.
The hotel is secluded and the beach is pretty quiet. This was nice and relaxing, but made it difficult to find a restaurant within close proximity other than the Ban Laantas own restaurant (which was good, but slightly on the pricey side. Maybe 750 baht per person. Expensive compared to the rest of Thailand).
I would definitely recommend this place and would stay there again. Would be worth it to rent a scooter and have your own transportation.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Good snorkeling tours can be booked through the resorts tour guide, who was very helpful.

Location is good; at Kantiang beach, it is a great spot for sunset view. In the morning, the view at the outdoor restaurant is also fantastic. On staff performance, the score is high as the hotel people are very helpful, starting from receptionist to masseuse to tour person. Basically, the people are all very friendly, knowledgable and kind. Some of them speak good English. Just a minute walk from the hotel is 7-Eleven, which is convenient for shopping for snacks, beer, etc. If you want to have some quality dining at night, you can consider this hotel. They sell fresh seafood and the food is just delicious. Price ain't bad either. To top it up, the view is awesome. The bar is also very cool. Room is also comfy. Breakfast is a letdown as there is no buffett. Only some breakfast set, like American and European style. For Asians, it's not that great. Be sure to buy insect/mosquito repellant as generally you can expect some company at night on Lanta island. It was understood that during our stay, the hotel experienced some power outage. Overall, my experience in this boutique hotel is good. I love it. If staying away from maddening crowd and the peaceful getaway is what you are looking for, don't miss this spot. I give it a rating of 4 out of 5. My girlfriend and I are happy guests.

Nice place to relax but the island is just too quite. Need to check the schedule of the ferry before book this hotel. Just a nice place for relax and escape from crowds. But please bear in mind that the boat to koh lanta is not available all the time. It depends on season. Must check the schedule before book this hotel

It is a distance from the main town and beaches. If you like nightlife then it is not the location for you but if you want a quiet beach with all that you need, then I rShibuya Excel Tokyu Hotel recommend this hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : There is a shop on the beach behind the 'Why Not' bar that can organise all your trips and saves you the 40 minute drive to the main wharf.

Anyone staying near Kantiang Beach should eat at least once in the famous Same Same But Different - it really is incredible Thai food and a lovely place to eat.
Nightlife Tip : We went to a full moon party 'Koh Lanta style' at nearby Klong Nin beach. It was great fun but very relaxed and chilled and well worth a visit if there is one one during your stay.

If you want Thai island life you would like this island when you have left the "town" Saladan you will need a flashlight after 7 pm.
