This place is amazing. The bungalows are right on the beach - it is 10m from the front door to the water and you have your own private beach chairs and umbrellas. Although the owners don't speak english very well, they are extremely helpful and try to accommodate you in any way they can. Khlong Nin is a beautiful beach and very peaceful. There is no food provided at the resort but there are plenty of restaurants/bars along the beach. My tip would be to make sure you book a beachfront bungalow!

Incredible staff, perfect location, beautiful view

We had an incredible stay at the Baan Rim Lay Hotel. The location on Klong Nin beach is perfect for accessing both the liveliness to the north and the beautiful marine reserve to the south. The deluxe beach bungalow was great - very large, very clean, and very put-together. We had our own private porch with two lounge chairs, and the beach was 7 or 8 steps away, complete with two private beach chairs and umbrella. The beach is pristine, gorgeous sunsets, lined with lots of little restaurants and bars that blend into the trees. And the owner was incredibly accommodating and courteous - we had to make a trip to the hospital for a rabies vaccine because one of us had been bitten by a monkey on a different island, and the owner drove us there for free (20 min), waited an hour for us while we got the shots, and drove us back. So kind. We also rented a scooter from him for very cheap - great way to explore Lanta! We will definitely return if we are fortunate enough to be back in Thailand!

This is the third time we visit Baan Rim Lay and we'll be back!
Situated in the middle of the Klong Ning Beach this is the perfect place to charge the batteries. From the terraces outside the rooms you are only about 30 m from the water line. The rooms are very well taken care of every day by mrs Yoong.
You find what you need in the rooms: AC, fridge, water boiler, hot water shower.
Klong Nin isn't any place to party all night long , then you have to go somwhere else. No crowds on the beach. This is where to go if you want to have a recovering holiday.
The owner, mr Pong, helps you with bookings for different tours, taxi to airport, hiring MC, etc.
Restaurant Tip:
Closest neighbour to Baan Rim Lay is the restaurant Oasis Sunset where you eat delicious thai and western food and are taken care of very nice staff.

amazing place to stay!

Baan Rim Lay was an amazing experience. Very clean, quiet and great location in Koh Lanta. The beach front was beautiful and the water was nice to swim in. Mr Pong and his family who own the hotel are very helpful and kind. We rented a scooter from him for 3 days and toured the island. Restaurants around Baan Rim Lay are great too. Everything about the hotel and location is great. I highly recommend. We traveled and stayed in 5 different places in Thailand and 5 different hotels/cabana's and this was by far our favourite location and place to stay!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The Elephant Trekking up the road just before the National park in Koh Lanta was great. The animals were treated well and seemed happy. The ride was fun and we got to hang out with the Elephants and feed them after. Great experience!

Excellent beach bungalows

Great bungalows. Have everything you need. Perfect if you dont want to stay in a big resort. Only about 10 bungalows, no bar or restauarant so very quite. Run by friendly couple.Breakfast very nice, just 2 mins walk along the beach.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The cave just a few km up the road is excellent. Wear old clothes and be prepared to scramble. Lanta old town is beautiful.

Mr. Pong and his wife do an excellent job of providing their customers with a memorable experience. They went above and beyond ensuring that all of our needs were met. We stayed in the standard room and it was clean and well-maintained. It was not "beach-front", but still only took 10 steps to get to the beach. We rented a scooter from the front desk for and were allowed to use it a full 24 hours. Mr. Pong also arranged for our taxi, ferry, and taxi transport to our next location. It is definitely a family-run business, and they take pride in what they do. We look forward to the next time we can stay here.
Restaurant Tip:
There are several delicious restaurants within a short walking distance. The Sunset Oasis next door has excellent food, but be sure to check you bill carefully each time!

We loved this little resort
The little, famliy-run resort is situated directly at the beachfront and offers an excellent relation of price and quality. It´s probably the cleanest hotel we ever stayed in. Hat Khlong Nin Beach, right in front of the bungalows, is both perfect for swimming and quiet even in the peak season.

if we should go to koh lanta again, we surely would book a room in baan rim lay resort.the owners are very friendly
and we felt very comfortable. we even were picked up at the pier without charge.
one can rent a scooter right n the resort.
if the room is booked with breakfast, it´s served in a restaurant just a few meters down the beach.the breakfast is ok, but nothing special.
Restaurant Tip:
The Cook Kai restaurant, situated on the left side of the streetleaving Bann Rim Layin in the direction of Ban Kantiang, offers tasty food at a reasonable price.

We loved this place! The couple who owned it were so lovely. The friendly husband picked us up from the ferry and was trying so hard to help us with as much advice as possible on the way home. His wife was lovely too - very friendly! She apologised for our room being small but we loved it, it was a gorgeous little cottage (we were in one of the older style rooms). It was so clean, they take such great care and pride in their place, it was humbling to see how hard they work and how beautiful it all was. You walk down to the beach and each unit has its own loungers with umbrella and table. Compared to other places we stayed in, we were amazed at how everything you could possibly need is here. e.g. they have 2 massive umbrellas in the cupboard in case of rain, the personal loungers, loads of personal lines to hang your wet togs etc, hairdryer, loads of things that were very helpful. They have their own scooter for hire which was a lovely gold one too, we felt very flash driving it round! You get the scooter from when you hire it e.g. 10am until 10am the next day which is nice, you could go out the night that you have it to somewhere else for dinner or something rather than having to rush back. The beach is one of the best on lanta and is surrounded by lovely places to eat - spoiled for choice at good prices too. I recommend heading out the front door of Baan Rim Lay and turning right down the road - the 2 best places to eat are closeby in that direction (best prices, lovely owners and trendiest decor also - they have cool sand floors or you can even eat on the beach). Our stay was quiet, peaceful, and idyllic. Book for longer - we had 2 nights and were so sad to leave. They also dropped us back to the ferry no problems.
