Maya Koh Lanta Hotel, Koh Lanta (Krabi)

The room is perfect, clean and modern style. You can see ocean view direct from the room.Eventhough it is a small hotel but you will enjoy your holiday here.

This hotel is right on the beach at Khlong Dao, the first beach you come to after the town where the ferry comes. I walked the length of the beach a number of days and, in my view, it was the nicest there. It is constructed in a very modern style - the room I had (I got a free upgrade from the lovely reception staff) was very big and I really liked it. Breakfast is either indoors or outdoors looking out at the beach, depending on what you want and I thought the selection was fine for a hotel of this size. The staff are very nice, although their English isn't wonderful. That said, unless you query is particularly complicated, they should be able to help you and are very anxious to do so. I organised a diving trip through them and was delighted with the operator they used. I didn't eat in their restaurant, barring breakfast, as there is a large selection of restaurants and bars along the beach, all with much more reasonable prices. All in all, a lovely stay in a lovely hotel. By the way, if you are coming from the main town, a songthaew shouldn't cost more than 50 baht per person and its best to ask for the "Maya Lanta" - none of the locals seem to know that its a Best Western.
