Pretty grounds but otherwise disappointed

the hotel is conveniently located close to but not in sala dan. the grounds are incredibly beautiful and the views from the restaurant and sunset bar are not to be missed. that said, i was rather disappointed in the hotel. i had a pool access room and, while having great access to the pool was nice, the room was disappointing. the furnishing were not very nice, the laminate wood flooring wearing out, the bathroom not at all well lit, the shower kind of old and it didn't drain at all well. the photos look much better than the reality. i never tried the restaurant because it was way up the hill but what i ordered from room service was pretty good. the staff are nice but sometimes a little clueless and it's difficult to ask detailed questions because many of them hardly speak english or other foreign languages. i really expected and wanted to like this hotel but i wouldn't stay there again. the biggest negative is the hotel's lack of a good beach. the beach accessible from the hotel is small and rocky. you have to walk, ride or bike to a 'regular' long, sandy beach for swimming and water sports.

I got a great deal on abides for the off season (October). The resort was quiet and clean. Had the two pools almost to myself. nice breakfast with gorgeous view overlooking the ocean. Not much private beach but short walk to a larger beach. Very comfortable to stick around the hotel and lounge! Would def stay here again!
Nightlife Tip:
Get massages in town. Lots of them.

The resort occupies a small peninsula, conveniently placed near (1,5 Km away) the major village in the Koh Lanta Island, Salatan. Really convenient. There´s a small private beach inside the complex, and a couple of big swimming pools. A quite big and nice beach can be found just around the corner. The resort has its own mini hill -"the peak" .
The whole place is really beautiful, well arranged and maintained. The rooms are big and have anything you could expect. Very comfortable. The service is as good as it gets. High standard, even for Thailand. The staff is really helpful and friendly.
A place to enjoy a calm stay!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Rent a scooter immediately. They are cheap and by far the best way to move around.

this is a very nice hotel, we stayed there at the end of the slow season in september and the hotel only had about 10 guests and many of the other resorts were closed. we had a very nice room and only issue would be you a a bit isolated from town. i would go there again.

This was a great stay - very relaxing environment and a warm welcome from the staff. Rooms were beautiful. Location is good and there's a shuttle into saladan. Only downside for me was that there wasn't a bar on the evening you could just go and get a drink at.

The crown is an well positioned lovely hotel, with 2 pool areas, one circling the rooms(if you have the pool room, you actually have your own section of the pool)and one on the cliff, overlooking the beach, happy hour is unfortunately only one hour(unlike most of thailand where it can be up to 8 hours)

enjoyed stay here and the rooms were quite lovely, the pools were great, breakfast good...staff helpful although english not so good. Unfortunately the wifi was not free and there were problems with reception. For hotel of this standard thought wifi should be complimentary.
