Avoid unless you are desperate

I cannot describe the feeling of helpless desperation when we checked into this hotel. The taxi driver didn't know it because it is new. Not new new, which is what I thought from the website, but a hotel recently taken on by new owners. Thinking it was a new hotel was why I was prepared to pay more money than other comparable hotels. Everything was old. Our airconditioner packed up on the second night. The toilet seat wasn't attached which made using the toilet a dangerous experience.
On the plus side the breakfast was good. This is a backpackers hotel but not at backpacker prices.

Bathrooms will surprise you, but not in a good way

We had planned for a trip to Koh Lanta, but realized on our way, that hotels on Koh Lanta were more or less fully booked, and not by us. We searched and found this place, that shares no pictures of the toilet/bathrooms. There's a reason for that. They are not horrible, just not what I expect when paying for a bungalow (that's peak season). The water pressure on hot water is non existing, water dripping from below sink which leads to a big area of chalk (?) on the bathroom floor, no shower curtain, toilet cleaner right on the floor with no holder. I hope you get the picture. Maybe I should consider uploading one.
Nightlife Tip:
Go for a beer at "Indian" 100 meter south direction on the beach. Music and entertainment. Bring the kids

Great rooms on the beach

we have stopped at this hotel a lot of times and its a great place. the staff are great and the attached resturant is fantastic. we very rarely eat anywhere else as the food is just so good. everything you need is here with a lovely balcony to have a beer. good tv channels and a fridge included in the room. staff are very very friendly. would stop here everytime in ko lanta.

Nous avons aimé notre séjour au Diamond Sand surtout à cause du personnel.Les chambres sont bien mais certaines chambres ont la clim très bruyante.L'emplacement est idéal ,tout près de la mer avec des couchers de soleil merveilleux.Cependant,quelques chaises de plage supplémentaires seraient un plus .
Restaurant Tip:
Beaucoup de restaurant près de l'hôtel et plusieurs ferment à 22h00

Den fungerade bra bra vi var för det mesta utom hus ,aircond fungerade bra och sängarna var inget att klaga på.Toaletten och duschen var väl inte den optimala men varmt vatten och den fungerade,vi är inte så beroende av första klassens boende bara det är rent och inte en massa ohyra där man bor så fungerar det, jag kan slutresumera att det är ett bra övernattningsboende om man är på resande fot och ska besöka olika ställen runt om Koh Lanta och Krabi

Lugnt hotell
Det låg alldeles nere på stranden. Mysig atmosfär och trevlig personal.

Städningen kunde varit lite bättre och mjukare sängar, var som att ligga på golvet. I övrigt ett skönt litet hotell med god mat..... Stranden var helt suverän. Lång och bred, som gjord för promenader.

Bra bungalow, utmärkt frukost. Nära stranden. Bra restaurang. Trevlig personal. Väldigt lugnt på stranden, bra om man vill slippa alla säljare och bara ta det lugnt.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Hyr gärna moped (kan göras på hotellet) och åk Koh Lanta runt, finns många fina stränder man kan stanna till på, Bamboo beach t ex. Lite trafik på Koh Lanta så det är lätt att ta sig fram på moped.

Bra läge men trista bungalows

läget på hotellet var ju bra. gångavstånd in till saladan som tog kanske 10 min. men i övrigt ganska låg standard på bungalowsen.
i duschen kom det bara 10 strålar vatten och luktade lite lätt avlopp.
när vi bokade så stod det att det skulle ingå frukost vilket det visade sig att det inte gjorde.
för den som gillar att tillbringa sina dagar i skugga så är detta fel ställe.. fanns ingenting på stranden som gav skugga så ville man från solen så va det restaurangen som gällde eller klämma in sig på de andra resorternas "plats" där det fanns lite mera palmer..
vi bodde 2 nätter och det räckte gott och väl för oss.
