Best value accommodations
9.3
Lanta Mermaid is the best hotel value I have experienced in Thailand. Our initial plan was to book one night and look for other accommodations, as we were not familiar with the island and wanted to explore Koh Lanta, but we ended up staying there three nights and had a great time. The location is a good compromise between being close to Klong Dao Beach and Saladan, with some good restaurants and shops, and a short motorbike ride to more secluded beaches -- my favorite was Kantiang Beach. One particular thing I would like to note is that the staff at this hotel was the most diligent crew I have seen. At any given time, they were either cleaning the floor or dusting the walls or whatever. It was quite impressive to witness. The reception staff is very knowledgeable about the best places to eat and do other activities. Keep in mind the hotel has no elevator.

9
I stayed at this hotel for a week its the cleanest hotel i have ever stayed in.
rooms are a decent size and spotless.
I got the manger to orginize everything for me from taxis to trips and all for around the same price as the tour operators nothing was to much trouble for the staff here.
would recomend for anyone staying in Koh Lanta
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
trip to phi phi island was very good about 1 hour 15 minutes and cost 850 per person each way

Quiet and nice hotel with good hosts
8.3
Stay was pleasant. The hotel doesn't come with an elevator. If you plan to go in and out of the room often get ready to climb the stairs and exercise. Hosts are nice. Hotel doesn't come attached with a restaurant which is a drawback. Breakfast is not a buffet spread. You can order what you want and get it. Not many options for the veggies though.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Do not hire a two wheeler from the hotel. Hire it from just outside the hotel and get it for cheap.

Wonderful modern hotel
Very clean, great rooms and terrific breakfast
9.7
This hotel is the best thing about Koh Lanta as much of the island has not been repaired or cleaned up since the tsunami. It's a shame as more people won't get to experience this hotel. Super management also...

Super clean hotel!
Clean hotel and friendly staff

We went there during low reason, so the beach wasn't that nice. However, this compact hotel is spot on. Areas in the hotel are so clean that we bet you can't find a grain of dust! The owner (we think he is) is very helpful and knows the island very well.

Great service
Clean rooms and excellent customer service
9.7
some road noise until 10pm otherwise faultless, breakfast was high quality and as for night meals we ate at beach front so cannot comment on hotel but seafood at beachfront was excellent.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Take any tour all were good but beware if doing caves you need to crawl at times and be prepared for a trek up waterfall prior to entry. Riding motorbike around was the best easy to navigate islands

Friendly service and the cleanest rooms

really enjoyed our stay. staff were very helpful and friendly. rooms were amazingly clean as was the whole hotel. if it had a swimming pool it would be perfect!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
We had the beach to ourselves most days. Hadn't realised how closed down for the season the area would be. Still lots of local food stall places to eat at but almost nothing on the beach front.

Clean, nice rooms, great staff

This place is run with a lot of care and attention even though it's quite a modest hotel. The decor and upkeep make it feel shiny and new, and the rooms are tastefully decorated and a decen t size with TV, fridge and good shower. The staff are very helpful, speak good English and quick to fix any issues. The hotel is on the road and a 5 minute walk to Klong dao Beach

Very nice hotel and really clean!
Super clean, very helpful staff, close to beach

Across the street from the beach, nice quiet town with many choices to dine. This hotel was a gem! I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place in Koh Lanta. They provide beach towels and mats. The breakfast is huge! You can have toast with jam, pancakes, fruit, tea coffee, eggs and bacon, mussly with milk or yogurt! We really enjoyed our stay here. Also, they will book all of your excursions for you at the front desk! Not a lot of night life around here...
Travel tip:
Do the mangrove kayaking, lanta cooking school, rent bicicles and head south!
