Relaxing beach holidays in a quiet environment
Quiet location, scooter rental, restaurant
6.7
The area of Klong Tob has very nice beaches and provides a sound choice of restaurants with extremely fresh and good seafood. Klong Tob is a few miles away from the island's center and, hence, pretty quiet. My first contact with the hotel was not nice as I was confronted with a quite rude receptionist. Anyway, the room was ok. Not perfectly clean but acceptable. Breakfast was alright. I can suggest having lunch or dinner at the hotel’s restaurant as the Thai food was really good there. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Scooter rental was easy and the reception was helpful with transfer and trip bookings. The hotel has its own private beach area but the beach was dirty and there were heaps of rocks too. I hardly stayed at the hotel beach and used to go to another one nearby. Overall, Ko Lanta is awesome and the stay at the hotel was okay. Maybe though, if a local situated and perfectly clean hotel is your prerequisite, you ought to choose another one.

Nice relaxed holiday
On the beach, nice pool, chilled out bar
6.3
We really enjoyed it EXCEPT that we found 2 cockroaches on our last night, one of which was in our bed whilst we were watching something. It really ruined our thoughts of the hotel and we were glad to be leaving in the end. Also the guy at the front desk wasn't very friendly at all. Otherwise everyone esle was great. Good food, oh and the bar closes early every night, like 10:30

nice enough place
close to beach, staff, bar
4.7
It was quite nice. A bit more expensive than it's worth, but close to beach (private beach, which isn't nearly as nice as the other beaches on koh lanta). Beach side bungalow was more poolside. Got a uncomfortable twin bed instead of a double. Other than that we had a good time!

Nice bungalow and beach but hotel is not a palace"
Beachfront Bungalow,beach and pool excellent
4.3
We booked online having looked at the pictures of the room, pool and sea front location, all of these were good and as portrayed on the website, the bungalow, immediate grounds, beach and pool were all great.
However the hotel is badly let down by the approach to it,the general standard of the reception and restaurant areas,in particular the restaurant was of a poor standard with a considerable drains issue and poor service from a somewhat disinterested restaurant staff, although the bar staff, cleaners and ground maintenance staff were all ok.
The breakfast was also quite poor in presentation and standard again with the smell of drains and we did not bother on our last day.
It is a shame the hotel enjoys such an excellent location and our bungalow itself was clean and of a good standard with direct access onto a lovely beach but the main areas and restaurant in particular require considerable improvement as does the service provided from most of the restaurant staff!!

Very poor breakfast, poor rooms. Very close to the sea.. But you can not swim, as it is big rocks all over the place!!! So a pool is an only alternative. Too far from Saladan.

It was okay, but I would not stay again
The location is pretty good, the staff are very friendly

I did not eat breakfast once, it was quite poor. Nor did I eat at the hotel for the 5 days of the holiday.
The rooms are very average, but definitely clean enough.
Not sure I agreed with the two caged monkeys, but they were in a fairly large cage and looked healthy.
The beach is quite private because it is in a small bay, but the sand is not the fine paradise type.
The location is pretty good, about 5 minutes from plenty of restaurants, bars and a nice beach; great at night to relax and chill out. This part of Lanta is quieter than the north part which suited me very well.
The highlight was when after close to 24 hours of rain, my friend’s room ceiling was leaking. The maintenance staff went to take a look and 10 minutes later three quarters of the ceiling came crashing down. It was actually hilarious and the staff thought so to.
I will definitely visit Koh Lanta again. I imagine that perhaps Samui and Phuket were like this 30 years ago. There are no buildings over 3 storeys, no fast food restaurants, very peaceful, lovely locals, inexpensive to rent a bike or car. It is the perfect place to relax and still enough to do for a week or two.
I recommend getting to/from Koh Lanta by ferry from Ao Nang or Railay. Cost is around THB 450.00 per person. You can also take a mini bus for around the same price or hire a private vehicle for about THB 2,500. Good to go back by land or vice versa.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Vist Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW, cuddle some cats or take the dogs for a walk. Please give a generous donation, this place is really helping the strays on Lanta.

4 nights at here
Quiet, close to the beach
5.3
Lanta Palace is a nice place to stay on Klong Nin beach. It's a bit far from Saladan but convenient to many shops and restaurants. The beach is ok but a bit rocky. The next beach a short stroll away is much nicer. The hotel itself is clean and has a great bar/ restaurant area and excellent pool.
Superior room is ok. But feel a little expensive.

Common, and service with a smile

My stay was so good for other reasons, that the hotel did not mean that much as long as everything worked well.

Good location on Lanta
Quiet, close to the beach, good food
7.3
If you are looking for a hotel for a reasonable price, on the beach, with good food, a good pool and is a little bit isolated, then I would recommend the Lanta Palace.
The beach was a bit rocky as other posts have mentioned, but this didn't worry us. It was isolated from the main beach by a rocky outcrop which made it feel quite isolated.
We booked a garden view room closer to the beach which I would recommend, as I think they would be nicer than being further back in the resort.
There are a couple of downsides to the resort:
1. The bed was beyond firm, almost like sleeping on the floor
2. A lot of the Scandanavians that stay at the resort treat the beach like their personal ashtry and drop their cigarette butts either in the sand or in the water. In 5-10 years time I can't imagine what the beach will be like if this keeps happening.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Have the BBQ fish for dinner on the beach.
