This was our second visit in the last 6 months to Layana Resort in Koh Lanta and we certainly were not disappointed. It is a beautiful resort in a lovely beach side location, well run with friendly staff and Management. The restaurant is excellent with changing menus nightly and a great breakfast. Daily tours on their speedboat are also a great hit with the guests as is the Spa. Having a child free policy makes it an idyllic getaway. Well done Bob and Margie.
Hotel Feature Tip : Try the Sunset Cruise on the Layana boat - can't be beaten

a very personal, small and lovely resort.
Layana Resort is a small and lovely resort to relax. Restaurant: delicious food. Attentive employees. Beach clean.
No admittance for children under 12 years old.
Intend and would love to spend another holidays at Layana Beach Resort.

Extraordinary friendly and service minded staff
High quality rooms
Very relaxing atmosphere
Reasonable prices on food and beverage despite a quite high price for the rooms
Free ice water in restaurant and continuously refill of ice water at sun beds
Already when arriving we got a very warm welcome and this attitude continued during out total stay. We stayed at a garden view room, which was of a very good standard and relaxing. Free ice water, free fruit and reasonable prices in the restaurant did not make us feel ripped off, like in many other upper level resorts. Management was continuously visible ensuring a positive experience. This year we have so far stayed at five different hotels in Thailand and this is by for the best!
Restaurant Tip : A small restaurant at the northern part of the beach, Second home, is worth a visit for their good Thai food.

The Layana hotel is probably the best hotel I have ever stayed at in Thailand. The location is excellent - right on the beach - and the standard of service is exemplary. The food is wonderful and the staff bent over backwards to help you nad greet you at all times. The resort is ideally suite to honeymooners but all guests receive excellent treatment. A wonderful hotel in every sense

- spotless, clean rooms with large bathroom
- voted the best SLH and I can understand why.
- Beautiful hotel grounds
- Large open grass field in the middle of the hotel which makes everything feel spacious.
- wine tasting gatherings where I was greeted by the hotel owner/builder and other hotel guests. Personal touch was very nice.
- infinity pool
- book and DVD library with free internet
- very good food
- private beach with view of Ko Phi Phi Lei
- There was nothing I can fault for this hotel.
- During low season there are no speed boats to get there so finding transportation to Ko Lanta is not as convenient. I recommend getting a cheap group van from Ao Nang in Krabi for a few hundred Baht if you don’t want to end up spending upwards of 1600 Baht on a private taxi.
- Koh Lanta is pretty quiet in general during low season with no snorkeling or diving trips available.
We were immediately greeted with smiles by the friendly hotel staff, were given ice cold refreshment and cold scented towels. I loved the layout of the hotel with the large garden/lawn right in the middle. The rooms were spotless and very clean. I was particularly impressed by the attention to detail right down to the intricate folding of the tissue and toilet paper. I recommend trying some of the activities the hotel organizes, particularly the wine tasting which was complimentary and free of charge, where I met the hotel owner/builder a nice man from South Africa. The hotel had happy hour drinks where you can sit outside by the beach and an excellent dinner menu and wine list.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : - Rent the hotel bikes and cycle down south or around the island. You will see a variety of beaches and beach side huts selling refreshments. We found one that had many cute Siamese kittens.

Excellent food, gracious service, all the expected amenities and more.
None really other than the time to get there. A bit out of the way via ferry in June.
I have visited Thailand over 30 times in the past 7 years and this resort is incredible. Impeccably maintained grounds and room facilities far exceeding Chedi,Banyan Tree,Peninsula and other 5 star places. Great food and beverages on site at very reasonable prices. Lovely, secluded and owners are hands on. Staff is exceptionally proficient and accommodating. I would highly recommend any choice of rooms at this place. Off season rates are tremendous value.
Restaurant Tip : Don't sit too close to the the beach for breakfast as the little birds love toast and croissants.

The resort is one of two upmarket resorts on Ko Lanta, which is primarily a backpacker destination. We visited Layana in May which is classed as 'low season', consequently the beaches were deserted and the backpacker accommodation was pretty much deserted. The resort has exceptionally good management and this is reflected in all aspects - staff training and supervision, quality of accommodation and grounds. The food is good but not excellent although a new menu was in preparation at the time of our stay. If you are looking for somewhere to chill out and where you can be sure of an excellent standard then the Layana resort is a great place to be.

When I stayed it was off-peak so very quiet but it's like your own place. Enjoyed. Also Internet was free in your room. Room is very clean as well.

Very beautiful and well-maintained facility with a large beautiful garden of good and quiet location. Absolutely very friendly and helpful staff. Professionel run hotel.
The best and most beautiful hotel on the island. The service is just super. There is no one with nothing. Because the customer is really king. The rooms are beautifully furnished and spacious. The pool invites you to linger. Small gifts from the hotel staff also embellish the residence. Who on Ko Lanta, must in this hotel stay, otherwise you miss something!
