Peaceful location and stunning sunset

The resort was very quiet and peaceful with a beautiful bar to watch the sunset and swimming pool to relax around. If you are looking for a resort where you can lie in the sand and then jump in the sea then this is not for you but with a spa and a good restaurant then it has everything you could need. Central location and you can walk to the nearest shops

Very isolated and in need of updating

This was a very disappointing hotel. It is off on its own, so you cannot access any restaurants or bars without a taxi ride. The property is well laid out but the individual units are rather tired. Major modifications are really overdue. The on site restaurant (where we had dinner upon arrival) was actually nothing short of dire. Certainly the worst food I've ever had anywhere in Indo-China. Although we were booked in for 4 nights, we set out to find another hotel first thing next morning. We really didn't care at that point if we even got a refund (we did as it happens - thank you Agoda). I can only recommend you avoid if possible.

i'm almost reluctant to share this as i don't want more people going here! beautiful quiet spot, hardly anyone there in peak season. the most friendly, professional and helpful staff you can imagine.
we were upgraded to a sea view room and then honeymoon suite for our honeymoon.
the restaurant is fantastic, lovely food and really afoordable proces (we thought we'd have to look elsewhere but we ate there every day)
the bar is great, beanbags by the water
free internet, free kayak hire, free shuttle to other beaches and nice rooms
great if you want a quiet relaxing and secluded place to stay where you'll be looked after and made to feel special

Bedbugs, sadly

Has its positives, but in the end, our stay was ruined by bedbugs. On the fourth night of a five night booked stay, I woke up with over 40 bites all over my arms and legs. Luckily my wife was spared but it was a horrid experience. The manager assured us that this had never happened before, and seemed appropriately concerned. She offered to put us in a different room for the last night and also said she'd be putting anti-insect powder on the mattress. The lack of bites the first few days could mean that it was another guest who had brought in the bugs, and so while we were upset, we weren't completely irate. But we still left, unhappy and paranoid that we were now infested.
After leaving, we found out on here that they've had previous bedbug problems. Perhaps the manager didn't know the history, but perhaps she was trying to sweep it under the rug. I'd be very curious to hear from other travelers whether they also experience bedbug problems (circa Dec 2011).
Everything else was overshadowed, but I'll mention the positives. The location is beautiful and it's quiet and peaceful, especially as the rest of the island develops apace. This means you don't have as much easy choice of restaurant / activity as you do elsewhere on the island, but you are away from it all. The individual villas are set in a way that makes you feel like you have privacy, even if the hotel is full. Getting around isn't a problem although the main taxi driver outside was probably the most dishonest driver on the island. Restaurant is tasty and reasonable especially considering they have a captive audience.
Rooms are simple but passable. Overpriced but it was the high season. Wifi away from the front desk didn't work for the first three days of our stay, and the television was snowy and poor, but you don't come to Ko Lanta for those things...
However, I also doubt you come for bedbugs either.

We arrived to a nice reception, though our river view room was not quite what we wanted. We spoke to management and got a forest room, I would recommend to pay a little extra for this as they are on the other side of the resort and are a lot lighter and larger; if you saw both then there is only one choice. Nice breakfast, the restuarant choices are very expensive so go out for dinner!
Restaurant Tip:
Go out of the resort and turn right... not left... you will come across a whole range of bars and restuarants that are fantastic

Excellent resort and staff

Although away from main areas and beaches its a 15 min walk to the nearest town and shops to the south although moped/car hire is available if req. Restuarant is excellent as is breakfast which overlooks beach to the west. Staff were fantastic and if ur looking for relaxation id highly recommend it.

We had to come back to this hotel. It was by far the most beautiful and relaxing hotel i have ever had the pleasure of staying at. We we so suprised to see how happy all the staff were to see us return. They all knew our names and continued with their great service. We will go back for the third time soon. Can't wait.

THE best resort i have ever stayed at

We absolutely loved this resort. It is beautifully designed - rooms, bar, restaurant, pool area, everything is amazing. The staff are sooo friendly, will do anything to keep you happy. The restaurant served some of the best food we’ve had in Thailand, and at great prices too. The location is perfect for relaxing and taking in the view. Our balcony was massive, and we had the best view, one we’ll remember forever. Plus we had the most romantic dinner on our first night. It was perfect.

Best hotel during our 4 month trip in Asia

we loved everything: we loved the staff, we loved the location, we loved the bungalows, we loved the food, we loved the little river crossing the resort, we loved our river view bulgalow, we loved the beatifull beach in from of the restaurant, we loved the kindness of the familly-like staff, we loved the island, we loved the activities they propose (yoga, guitar lessons..), we loved spending nights laying of the bar matress, watching the stars with the barman and ken, the restaurant cooker, we loved the smiles...
we loved it !
we loved it so much that we extended our stay three times. even if it was a bit outside our budget, we never regreated it !

Very Nice hotel in quiet location on beach
Great spot on the coast that is quiet but a short ride from restaurants, etc.

we had a great stay at the hotel. it was in a great location, nice rooms, quiet, etc. we were a little disapointed by the jacuzi. we got the beach front room specifically for this but it only had cold water!
