Quiet & relaxing hotel but isolated

nice, big room, great swimming pool, secluded beach
6.3
If you are looking for a hotel that is completely cut off from the outside world and want to stay at the hotel during your stay and not venture out this place is the place for you. The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly (though many have trouble with English), there is a restaurant and bar on property as well as a spa, the beach is private and the pool is great. That begin said cabs/tuk tuks are not plentiful this far south on the island and the closest cluster of restaurants and bars is a good 30 minute walk along the main road. The restaurant in the hotel left something to be desired, it seemed to offer a "westernized" version of Thai food which compared to the street stall of Bangkok was disappointing. That's not to say the food is bad by any means just not what we had come to expect in Thailand. Aside from the location being a disappointment the hotel is wonderful. The grounds are beautiful, the pool is cool and clean and the beach is secluded yet rocky. It is a great place to hideaway for a few days. There were several families here when we stayed but it wasn't especially intrusive. I would also recommend using Scubafish for a snorkeling or scuba experience if you are interested. They operate an office right out of the hotel.

Our stay at the Narima was wonderful, the location of this resort was very much in the "jungle" which was a great experience for us. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times and made our stay great. The location was ideal and central for everything we wanted to do. We would recommend Narima to anyone that likes a bit of peace and quiet but with an option to do more if they wanted.

Peaceful, relaxing, comfortable.

Beautiful private beach, amazing swimming pool, gorgeous location among the trees, delicious food and drinks.

Fantastic! I spent 6 blissful nights in an air-conditioned bungalow with my one year old son and my mum. We would not hesitate to return again. The rooms are rustic yet clean and comfortable with high ceilings and lots of natural light, also there are fly screens to keep the mosquitos out (but not the geckos, we shared our room with a giant one we nicknamed Gordon). The cleaners come every day to make the beds, stock up the fridge with drinks and clean the bathroom. The restaurant and bar are excellent - offering a wide range of Thai and western food (we stuck to the thai food for the most part) and cocktails - though the prices are a bit higher than those closer to Saladan. This is definitely the place to go if you want to get away from the crowds and tourist centre as it is fairly isolated - still a tuk tuk into town is only 150 baht and an enjoyable 20 minute ride. The beach and pool are wonderful - a great way to escape the heat. You can also get pampered with a massage or facial if you fancy. The staff were really friendly and great with kids (they even have high chairs!). I would definitely not hesitate to recommend The Narima.

Spacious room, nice wooden floor, nice balcony

The walk in price was exactly the same offered by Agoda, although Agoda stated in the website their price was a special one, highly discounted....So I felt stupid going through all the Internet booking when I could have just paid cash at the hotel..Once in the room, I realized there was no TV, so I was a bit disappointed. The electricity cut off after just five minutes I go into the room. As it is not so unusual to have black outs in Koh Lanta I waited about 10 minutes for the electricity to come back, to no avail. Then I realized that the light in the garden were on, so the problem might have been in my room. I went to the reception (no telephone in the room) and explain the problem. The hotel has been good in acting immediately and send some technician to fix the problem. All in all, the place look nice, but I feel it is overprice for what it offers, compared to other hotels in the island (have been living in Koh Lanta for over a year and tried a lot different ones...)
Nightlife Tip: Once arrived in Lanta, do not take a taxi, rent a bike instead: the rental fees are really low (around 250 THB a day), whilst a taxi ride might cost you 700 THB from one side of the island to the other. If you ride a bike do it very carefully, to avoid several pothole on the street.

We stayed to go to full moon party. Far enough away for sleep but close enough to go. Amazing chalet. Nice pool. But best of all we where given breakfast even though we where not up till gone 12. Exceptional service and great food. Only downside is the beach is more of a lagoon.
Travel tip: Go to full moon. Nobody is to old to party.

Seaside bungalows in the middle of the rainforest

the location was amazing
6.7
The bungalows, although outdated, are incredibly located within the forest at the seaside, completely embedded in nature. Lovely pool and impressive open reception area. The greatest surprise was to discover a very hip city just a few kilometers further down the road. The hotel staff was very kind and helpful.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Koh Lanta Yai city, a definite must-see! From there also amazing boat and diving tours!
