Beautiful gardens, friendly staff, clean rooms

Staff could benefit from improved language skills and cocktail making

Initially I thought the resort was a bit dated then came to love its well set out gardens and style. The swimming pools were excellent, with a second one near our room away from the public, whihc meant we could have a post dinner dip before bedtime. The food at the resort was well cooked although they didn't have a large selection we enjoyed what we ate and never suffered any side effects. Cocktails at the bar were very nice too. We enjoyed the complimentary bikes a great way to get around the resort as was the courtsey electric car that picked us up at the gate. All in all I would definatley recommend this resort it is quiet but with good access to the village and beach front.

Restaurant Tip : The Seafood resturants at the pier in Saladen 1.5 kms from the resort, were great as were the motorbike taxi's

Beachfront location; pool area; free bikes, internet, kayaks etc.

Deluxe room was badly designed/furnished; little cupboard space. But outside bath and massive rain shower/toilet room good.

Hotel set in lovely grounds on excellent beachfront location (great beach, sea, and sunsets). Deluxe rooms a little disappointing but we got used to them, after being told to upgrade to a villa would be extra. Staff very friendly but with varying degrees of competence - think they might struggle at peak seasons. But we booked for 6 days and stayed for 10!

Travel tip : Hire the free bikes to both get around the resort and visit nearly (two street) town. Day trip to Phi Phi was good; 4 island trip wasn't.

- nice & clean Villas

- Expensive services (bar, laundry, massages) - Very simplified/unimaginative decor and athmosphere in beach restaurant and pool area - Food

Very peaceful and clean Villas in a beautiful setting. Hotel services are overpriced but you can find beachfront restaurants and massage by walking distance. You can also borrow bicycles from hotel (free of charge). Anyway bestway to see something else is to rent a scooter from Saladan and ride allaround in koh Lanta.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Rent a scooter from Saladan (~200baht/day)to see more in koh Lanta.

The bathroom is awesome!! The staff was very friendly, hotel was clean with nice decor, the pool was wonderful and the breakfast was great

streams inside grounds were not pleasant to look at more like swamps, hotel transfer to town very expensive, spa expensive, not enough cushions on the beach chairs.

We stayed in a garden bungalow and it had an outdoor barrel tub. It was filled with warm water and flowers when we got there. The shower was amazing to. The bedroom was a little small. The hotel staff drives around the grounds in golf cart and are always willing to give you a ride to your room. The beach in front of the hotel is not that beautiful, no white sand or anything like that. Is not crowed though.

Travel tip : Rent motorbike and tour the island yourself. The sea gypsy village is just a poor community. The cave is definitely worth visiting. Also the orchid and butterfly farms are cool. The kayaking in the mangrove forest was great, you get to feed monkeys. Time for lime mojitos are delicious along with their food.

Great service and very nice rooms with very comfortable pool. Very good breakfast and two very nice pools

Restaurant a bit expensive compared to others in the area. Rooms are a bit of a walk from the pool/reception.

Wonderful hotel with very comfortable beds and great service - you don't want for anything. Breakfast was very large and very good. Great amenities including gym and spa. Beautiful pools and main restaurant building (even if a bit expensive compared to others nearby).

Very helpful, truthful staff, clean

hotel transfer to town way too expensive

We stayed here for 3 night and decided to extend our stay for another night. We asked the staff if they would book us for another night and they told us it would be better if we booked again through Agoda otherwise it would cost a lot more. The stay was extended with no problems. I was hoping they would fill up the outdoor bathroom again because this was a new booking but unfortunately they didnt. Nice place to stay not really 4 start though

Travel tip : Dont use the hotel transfer into town. It is only a 10 min walk or just start walking and grab a tuk tuk that drives by

Nice pool. Big and good breakfast. 5min walk to the good Sunset Restaurant, and some bars. Quiet and nice location.

A distance from main street running inside the beach. We had to change room during the night because of a power failure.

A very big resort with both bungalows and apartments. Some distance to go from some rooms to beach, restaurant and reception. Some staff are very helpful, but some not. Recommend a motorcycle rent to explore the island! Nice lonely beaches in the south!

Come on lets face it the pictures of the main pool is what caught your eye!!! - trust me it wont let you down - it creates a super view across the sand to the sea.

The room is set out a little strangly - why is the sink just place in what feels like the middle of the bedroom and not in the bathroom? wasnt due to lack of space as its huge!! very odd & hotel food is a defo no no!!

The complex is very beautiful - we stayed in a normal room at the back of the complex - it was fairly clean and quiet even though a short walk to the main activities etc. The staff are very friendly and polite - we always got a smile and a 'good morning'. The food made and offered onsite is over priced and not nice - a short walk down the beachfront to the left of the hotel will find you some nice beach restaurants & bars. The next one is not so much anything to do with the complex but i found the large flying beetles to be very off putting in the evening when trying to sit down to dinner only to spend the next hour avoiding them flying at you. Found if you avoid sitting near any lights then they avoid you!!!!

There were none. Saying that the pool was nice!

Staff were not that great. Room was not the best.

To be honest we did not really like Ko Lanta as there was not much to it. We had just come from PHI PHI so anything in comparison will not match up. I would never go to this hotel again, staff were friendly but not helpful, the pictures for this htel look great on the website! Shame about real life! We actually left early!

Travel tip : Go somewhere else!

The beach was large and wide (due to the tide) and there is plenty of space and privacy when I was visiting in March. The grounds the pavillions are on are nice as well, except when you get unlucky and are placed next to the stinking swamp/river, that is just sitting water and attracts mosquitos.

The pictures on the website are definitely misleading. The finishings are very cheap and the rooms are in need of a serious update. For example one lamp in my room had a major stain on it, the drapes where of some super cheap material, as were the construction materials. Electricty went out several times, but back on within minutes. I guess that happens in any hotel in Thailand. Staff does hardly speak any English. Only the most basic words.

When I arrived at the grounds I was pleased, the structures looked nice from the outside on so did the setting. However on a closer look, the building materials were very cheap as well as the finishings. The pictures on their website are misleading and are giving the impression of this contemporary, sparkling new place, which it frankly is not. It's ok, but I think the level of comfort is bad for what you pay.

Location at end of beach meant less crowding then further down, while still being close to town. Conveniently close to Salatan town, with free transfers in the evening.

The spa prices seemed ridiculously high.

We booked a superior room, and received a complimentary upgrade to the next room up (basically the same but with a cool outdoor bath). We visited Koh Lanta at the end of the high season, and found the place essentially deserted (I understand it is packed during the peak season). Some reviews made me apprehensive about this choice, however I am glad I did not second guess myself. Twin lotus is a good resort that was close to the the town and seemed to be well regarded by locals as a good place. The room was good, the bathroom looks a little run down, however functioned as expected. (I have heard that this resort was freshly completed just before the tsunami, and heavily damaged by it, which may explain some things). The breakfast service was the usual you get at any resort in Thailand, The only restaurant open was the beach bar, which while a little more pricey then some of the other restaurants down the beach, did provide good food. Overall for the rate we got from Agoda this was good value for money.

Travel tip : At the end of the beach is a place called "Time For Lime" Great restaurant and also offers Thai cooking classes. For Scuba Diving "Go Dive" proved to be a great company run by locals with both local and expat dive guides speaking many languages.

Laid back atmosphere with modern simplistic design. Staff was helpful and courteous. The pool was definitely one feature that distinguished this reosrt from most other places on Koh Lanta. Be sure to rent a motorbike and explore the island.

We enjoyed our stay, but would not recommend the tour to the Phi Phi Islands we booked through the hotel. The local island trips are likely fine, but the Phi Phi trip was basically a ride on the Ferry for 4 hours.

The delux and standard rooms were not too appealing, so we went with the garden villa. It was a nice simple place that we appreciated. It is nothing spectacular, but it was nice and the atmosphere grew on us during the stay. Still has somewhat of a bungalow feel, but without sacrificing too much.
