Really beautiful island and hotel

the hotel is beautiful and the rooms very large and comfortable. the inhouse movie selection is also a treat for entertaining a 5 & & year old in the evening. the view and location is stunning and there are great local restaurants along the beach so that you have lots of options.
i spent the first half of the week in koh samui and rate this island much more than koh samui and it is much more beautiful and less built up. i would come again except that the sea water really was awful. i didnt swim in the sea once as there were plastics bags, bottles etc everywhere and all over the beach. there is a construction site next to the hotel and i guess debris is getting putting in the water. also there is a small river that flows in the beach closeby and this makes the water less than pristine. its such a shame as i really loved the hotel.

enjoyed our stay,a very relaxing holiday in a paradise setting. beautiful gardens around the villas and enjoy a dip in your own plunge pool. great pool, and restaurant right on the beach. lovely food and great service by the staff.
Travel tip:
pay a little extra and take the resort speed boat transfer if you want to get from the airport to the resort quicker. But the ferry is okay.

we had an amazing stay in rasananda!!!
it was defiantly the highlight of our honeymoon!
the resort is beautiful, from the first step you take you know you arrived to paradise. the suite was incredible- designed beautifully, offers a great comfort, the complimentary coffee and liquor was great, so were the chef's delicious treats that we received each evening...the staff was always lovely and welcoming. we will get back there some day for sure :)
Restaurant Tip:
there are some great places to eat out side the reasort- luna, jip shop... really good local and western food.

Best hotel I've been to
Fantastic villas with private pool in a secluded area in Koh Phangan

Fantastic hotel, beautifully decorated and well located in a very peaceful area in Koh Phangan, away from the noise and the crowd. The villas with private pool are unbelievable: it makes you feel like you've rented a whole house and not a hotel room. The service level is extremely high (Apple TV in the room with a wide range of movies and music for free, free liquour and appetizers, espresso coffee machine,...) and all that for a price you won't get anywhere else.
The only 'not so positive' highlight was the food (breakfast), which I found was not up to the hotel standard. Important to mention that only 5 minutes away from the hotel you will find 2 of the best restaurants in the whole island (Betterthansex and Luna), both great value for money.

From the moment you arrived the attention to detail was of a very personal nature and welcoming.
The location of the hotel is an island paradise, the layout of the hotel has been carefully planned, and the gardens are stunning.
he rooms offer absolute privacy with your own pool and small garden, the rooms are fully equipped and serviced twice a day, a range of drinks are provided free daily and the turdown service also provides a Thai sweet with a note from the chef.
Breakfast offers a full selection to meet all tastes and you can sit al fresco overlooking the palm fringed bay.
Hotel managers, head chef talk to guests on a daily basis to ensure guests needs are met.
The hotel also offers a meet and greet service from the airport and transfer by speedboat.
Nightlife Tip:
The local community outside the hotel is small but offers a range of small bars and restaurants that offer good Thai food that is inexpensive.

Due to a communication error between Agoda and the Rasananda we got upgraded to a beach pool suite. We were completely blown away, the room and the private pool were beautiful. Although the hotel was a little tricky to get to and a little isolated, we hired a car and explored the beautiful island which was fun. The beach was my favorite we visited and the location was stunning! We recommend the Thai restaurants surrounding the hotel for better priced but exceptional food. I loved this place so much I want to go back for our honeymoon! I can't wait to get back!

Amazing place for a honeymoon

We had a truly amzing stay at the Rasananda! From the moment we arrived by shared speed boat. We were met with flowers and drinks and it was a swift check in to our room. We went for an ocean terrace room with pool. I think we made the right choice as these are on the first floor of a chalet rather than the ground which makes its more secluded and private.
The room was fantastic, the bed and pillows the best ever! As it was our honeymoon the bed was decorated for us and we were left some champayne. The room had an apple TV and wifi, loads of films to watch (which was handy on a rainy day)The bathroom had huge shower and doube sinks and you could look out onto the sea. The plunge pool on our terrace was very cooling too. You were left sweets every night and had an ample supply of gin,vodka and whisky replenished everyday!
The rest of the complex was also divine, just the right size. Not too big to be unpersonal but not too small to be claustraphobic. The pool was lovely and the service around the pool great. The beach and sea were clean and quiet and we were allocated our own loungers and free use of games, kayaks etc.
Breakfast was included and was really nice, very well presented and always fresh. But if you wanted a snack around the pool or beach it was very pricey and not enough choice at all. Although a short stroll down the beach or into the little village and there were plenty of choice. We did this most nights too as the hotel were charging 3 times as much as everywhere else. The food was excellent at the hotal so dont let this put you off! We did have a romantic dinner on the beach provided by the hotel which was so romantic and a very special evening.
This was by far the best hotel both me and my partner had ever stayed in! Highly reccomeneded!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Dont book through the hotel as they charge much more than in town.
