Looks good but it's far from it!!

This hotel was advertised as being a nice comfortable bungalow with good amenities, it was far from it in my eyes.
It said in every bungalow there where king sized beds, its two singles pushed together which when it comes to sleeping on it, it is very uncompfortable they are also very hard beds so i was waking up In the morning with a sore back and side.
No tv.
Room seems to always let lizards in and can be very anoying at night as they make noises.
Showers didnt work properly.
Only cleaned my room once the whole time i stayed there which was 8 days.
Reception seemed to close most nights at 9 so it ment we where stuck for a taxi and had to walk 10 minutes into town.

Quiet and extremely comfortable stay on the beach

We were only able to stay one night but it was a great introduction to the island. The bungalow was clean and comfortable. Very relaxing to lay in the hammock and read; nice view from the front porch. The food was great at the resort restaurant. Great overall atmosphere.
...I must say I was a little shocked by the beach...we arrived in the morning when the tide was out (didn't know at the time), and it basically looked like a swamp. However, by the afternoon the waves were coming in. If you like swimming a lot you might have to go to other beaches during the day (at least around July, dunno how conditions are the rest of the year). Sunbathing is no problem. We didn't go in the water. We also didn't get to explore much so it's possible the neighboring beaches w/in walking distance were okay.
Be sure to try the homemade ice cream place one of the owner's recommended, it was amazing!
Basically if I wanted a comfortable, relaxing stay and didn't mind about swimming, I would stay here again.
Nightlife Tip:
For those of you coming during the Full Moon Party, this was a great base for us. Taxis (trucks w/seating area in back, similar to Jeepneys for those that have been to the Phils) run all night for the party and all you have to do is stand at the resort entrance to get picked up. As for the party itself...well, it wasn't a must-see in my opinion. If you've been to any big beach party before, this one's not any different. Well, the "buckets" were cool but that's about it.

We stayed for a few days at this hotel, the rooms are great (new and clean) - several Bangalo suites with an ocean view, great for couples a bit quite, but it about 15 minutes from Hadrin site.
If you are looking for a beautiful and quite location this is your place :-)

I like this place because I can relax on hammock and feel windy...room is comfortable and clean...free wifi that it made me connect with social network all the time :-)
The owner and staffs are service mind and friendly. I have a chance to taste Mas-sa-man seafood and Fresh pancake(Fresh crape) with honey, banana, nuttella...I love so much so I recommend both of them. :-)

this is a fantastic beachside bungalow style accom , the owner and manager is very friendly obliging and helpfull , the garden style beachside setting is tranquil and beautifull,i would not hesitate to stay here again , the bungalows are simple but tastefull , no tv"s which was a relief , the best stay i have had in thailand , fantastic

This place was worth every penny. Sebastian, the owner is a wonderful host and everyone who was there was so pleasant. The food is amazing we didn't even eat anywhere else. I will recommend this to anyone going to visit Thailand.

we arrived to koh phangan and booked this hotel for our stay during the full moon party. this is located in thong sala so it is far from haad rin, about baht per person by taxi. the beach bungalows are beautiful though. the beach is corse sand and has loads of shell but its just a great view! the hotel owner sebastian is a great host and very helpful. the restaurant chefs are brilliant and the food is great! free wifi is great too!

Everything you want for a price you can afford

Having spent the first half of our Thailand trip in more modest accommodations, we were so thankful to arrive at Baan Manali and felt like we'd been transferred to paradise. Our private, air-conditioned bungalow had a beach view with gorgeous, panoramic sunsets that could be seen from bed! And speaking of beds, we were so thankful for a comfortable bed and a mosquito net — oh, happy sleep. You also get your own deck with chairs and a comfy hammock (daytime is fine, but bring mosquito repellent if you want to sit there in the morning or evening). The bathrooms are clean and modern and the rooms feature an in-room safe, mini-fridge, and free wi-fi.
Breakfast was included, and while not huge portions, we found it to be just the right amount of food. Keep in mind there is only one chef and the food preparation takes time, so relax, enjoy the views, talk, read a book, pet the dog... you're on vacation and I promise the food is worth the wait!
They have nice cabanas to lounge in near the beach. The water out front is very shallow and murky, but if you wade out a ways, you'll get to deeper, clear water that you can swim in. You can also collect shells out on the sand bar or rent a kayak and do some exploring.
The nearby port town of Thong Sala is close enough to walk to and has plenty of shops and restaurants. Unfortunately, there was one open air market where the local Thais and resident hippies gave us dirty looks, refused service, and make it clear they didn't want tourist-types there. You can also rent a tuk-tuk (motorbike) or take a taxi to Haad Rin if you are looking for the party scene (of course, it is craziest during the Full Moon Party).
We're so glad we stayed at Baan Manali. I did a lot of research and can tell you it's a great price for all the amenities. The owner took great care of us and we would definitely return!
Restaurant Tip:
check out fisherman's restaurant in ban tai for the most delicious, fresh seafood anywhere. try the yellow curry crab (messy, but amazing!! the best meal i had in thailand!) and the barracuda (so good!).
for a super romantic, relaxed atmosphere, check out beachlounge in thong sala (across from the chinese temple). the owner takes wonderful care of you and you won't want to leave.

We paid under per night. So for that price, I think the Bungalow was perfect. The bed was a bit hard for our liking, but by the 4th night we were used to it. Friendly and helpful owner. And a good breakfast.
