Lovely Hotel, Staff & Views
9.7
we originally booked here for just 3 days but after arriving, seeing our view and room, we decided almost straight away to extend to a week.
this hotel is fantastic. the staff are extremely friendly, always saying hello, stopping for a chat and going above and beyond. they always had a smile on their face and i have never witnessed customer service as good in any hotel before.
the breakfast menu is lovely. lots of choice, good quality and very filling.
we had a superior double, which was superb with literally the sea right otside our window.
you will need to get a moped if you want to see the rest of the island and there are many steep hills so be careful. the hotel has a moped and jeep hire on site, 150 baht per day for a moped. cheap!
facilties are great, yuo have steam room, massage, pool tables, table tennis, pool etc.
great hotel. a must stay!
Travel tip:
Call/email in advance and they will pick you up from port

you will not regret a stay at this hotel. the accomodation is amazing and the staff and customer service levels are the best we experienced in thailand, with a great locatin directly on the beach.
the staff will do anything for you, are constantly on the go, always with a hello or goodbye for you. they make you feel special.
the facilties available for you are great and the breakfast choice and quality is second to none.
we were lucky enough tohave the room closest to the beach and the view was just amazing.

Rest, restore, eat out!
Truly helpful, lovely staff, amazing blue views, pool, ideal location
9.3
Arrived harassed and tired after bad experience on other part of the island. I had emailed to ask if they could pick me up from The White Rabbit restaurant and Joe replied "Yes" almost immediately, bless him! Arriving at Milky Bay I was welcomed with a huge smile by Kim on Reception and instantly felt glad to be there. My air conditioned bungalow with HOT shower - a luxury believe it or not - was perfect and I appreciated the sweet flowers on the bed. Attention to detail is excellent at the resort and staff even take the trouble to chat and remember your name. After booking for five days, I wanted to extend my stay and they were very pleasant about it so I didn't even need to change bungalow. The resort is in a great location, close to everything, but apart from breakfast I would advise budget travellers to eat out at local Cup restaurant(turn right, just 2 mins walk away) because the resort has great food but it's quite expensive - over double the local prices outside the resort.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
I would particularly recommend a visit to the nearby meditation centre, up in the hills. Unbelievable views of the whole island from there and a breathtaking unique temple. Out of Milky Bay, turn right, walk down main road to sign on left that says "Meditation," and follow the road up the hill which takes you straight there! Easy. TAKE WATER though!

Beautiful unique grounds & resort setting
Relaxed atmosphere, helpful staff & great facilities
8.7
We really enjoyed our stay here - the setting of bamboo woodlands is beautiful & very relaxing. We wanted to extend our stay but unfortunately they were fully booked (we moved to another resort that cost the same but wasn't nearly as nice). There is not much located within walking distance of the hotel but for only 150 baht we hired a moped, allowing us to easily explore the rest of the island.
The wifi connection is good & a few free computers are also available in reception.
The only minus is that the standard bungalow we were in had no natural light source (there were shutters but we didn't want to sleep with these open as it would allow bugs & the heat in) this made waking up harder!
Overall we had a fantastic stay though.

Nice rooms & friendly staff
Good quality rooms, nicely located bar & restaurant by the beach, friendly helpful staff.

enjoyed my couple of days here. nice, clean & well located resort with good food & smiley staff! if you stay here april/may time it can become very quiet & the tide means the sea cannot be swum in at this time of year so the location is not for everyone. overall though i would recommend milky bay.

good hotel with cozy small roomโรงแรมและห้องน่ารัก
clean & nice decoration in room, style of shower room, activities in hotel
7.3
good hotel and good location (easy to remember). The room is not too big and not too small especially for alone traveller. Beach and sand is alright. Even not good for swimming in the sea but for sun-bathing should be alright. Environment around the room is nice with bamboo and tree nature.
The nice things I like are the room's decoration, the welcome aromatic scent in the room, cleanliness, natural environment, and a bit more.
But something I dislike is the sound of some fixing or building something in the morning time, the smell of burning something in the morning and the sound when moving bed.

good value for the agoda price
right on beach for beautiful sunets

My bungalow (cheaper end of accommodation) was well appointed and right on the beach. The dining, pool and rec areas were well done, clean and well maintained. The staff were a bit distracted with their own stuff but I expect it is a family run resort and we could learn from them about integrating family and work and pleasure?
Great location for full moon pre and post festivals which are all nearby. If you are not into the festivals then a few good restaurants not far away and only 10min taxi to Haad Rin. The beach here not sogood for swimming but is for learning to kite surf.

Nice view from the beach, but...
5.3
The view from the beach was the best part about this resort for me. I was hoping to swim in the ocean but it is too shallow. The pool is nice enough but can be hard to find a chair as there aren't that many. We stayed in the standard double and was disappointed on account of how dark it is. There was one window without glass so if the wooden shutters were opened bugs would come in along with the light. We kept them closed. I can't speak for the quality of the upgraded rooms. I couldn't recommend staying here to friends or family traveling in the area. However, if you do stay here, stay away from the tuna baguette it made me sick. All the other food I had was good though.

I was only going to stay a few nights and then move on to Koh Tao for diving. After meeting some people I wanted to stay, so I asked them to extend my stay. They had no more bungalows so I had to upgrade to the next up. When I went that morning to move somehow the room got occupied, so they gave me a free upgrade to a studio. It's an amazing room I've been having a hard time leaving. So every few days I extend another couple days.
Overall amazing staff and great place to stay.
