view!! its just fantastic! lots of steps!! lots. I would suggest that if you have any difficulty walking you would either need to be at very top villas near reception as there are a lot of steps! stayed at the blue hill resort for 4 days, was supposed to be 2 but extended because figured we were not going to find a hotel with such amazing views for the price we paid! The hotel is five mins on moped from main Haad Rin beach/town and is located on a hillside overlooking the sea and the islands beyond. Rooms are spacious and clean and in the Villa's you have a really good sized balcony where you can sit and look out to sea. or sunbathe in total privicy! The beach directly below hotel is not all amazing but if you enjoy beautiful views , even from your shower! i would recommend at least a night here! we booked again through agoda and got a fabulous deal!
Nightlife Tip : pretty quiet when no full moon party, but nice if you just want to relax!

The view from my room, balcony and other locations around the hotel, deserted beach. Cheaper prices in town compared to Samui. Small pool area, no lift, very steep stair's, Hotel Manager, loose fittings in shower/toilet area. Located on a hillside with a beautiful view. The traffic and hilly roads outside the hotel made it difficult to walk into Town. The hotel had it's own taxi which charged 50 baht a person so I ended up using that most of the time for my 3 day stay on the island. If your staying longer then I really recommend you hire a bike which will give you more flexibility and could work out cheaper (approx 400 baht a day). The stairs are very steep and if your not that fit or you have a medical condition then I don't recommend this Hotel. The beach was deserted but full of stones so you had to be careful. The swimming pool itself was OK but there was not much space around it. I had a villa which was clean. The shower room was again OK but looked unfinished and there was loose shower/toilet fittings. On the day that I checked out the Hotel Manager presented me with a bill which I did not agree with. There was a charge for something I had not taken. I did not pay for this item and he virtually accused me of lying. He did this in front of his colleagues and clients checking in which I thought was totally unacceptable and unprofessional. Saying that the other staff were very friendly. Check out the seafood restaurants on the beach. Lovely food and reasonable prices.
Nightlife Tip : Check out the bars/clubs directly on the beach. Cheap drink and plenty of action!! It all kicks off around 0100 hrs..

Nice bungalows on the hill, great view from bed to the sea The many stairs to come from bungalow either to the sea or to the top where reception is. The Blue Hill resort is really nice and we did enjoy our stay there. Only weak point is that you should be in a good physical condition for the stairs. Breakfast ist average, not bad but also not best you can get. Staff is friendly and rooms are clean. The absolutly great view which you have from the rooms is best we ever had.
Hotel Feature Tip : The hotel has a car, they drive you for 50 THB to town center. When you go back in the night with taxi, don't pay more than 200.00 THB.

Lovely gardens, views and staff. Great food. Room was basic, cement floors, bathroom unfinish. The Blue Hill Resort is a nice place to stay. My partner and I stayed for two nights. Our room was clean however the room floors and bathroom walls were unfinished concrete. It appeared as if it was unfinished or needing an up grade. Nice views from the balcony, a short walk up some steps to reception and fantastic food (affordable) from the restaurant were all things we enjoyed while staying there. Short walk from local shops. Beach parties not far away!

The reports on the steps on the other reviews are no exaggeration. It's been mentioned here already but definitely try to get a room as close as possible to the reception to avoid all the steps. Also going with a deluxe room provides a nice balcony to watch the sunset. For what we payed it was not too bad. The air conditioning takes some time to cool the room and there is no safe in the room. We requested a room close the reception and were able to avoid the long trek up the stairs. It's about a fifteen minute walk from the main beach. Walking there is no problem but walking back up the hill can be a bit tiring. I was fairly happy with the hotel and value.

excellent view, great service,good location The bluehill resort is a peaceful place set into the cliffs ,it does have super views of koh phangan,location is about 20 mins on foot or 50 barts on the taxi bike into haad rin ,the staff are very helpful ,very nice breakfast,also clean rooms,i would stay here again for sure

clean room, spacious, great view of koh Samui and the sea, big windows and balcony a lot of steps to go from the villa to the reception and breakfast area, breakfast not something special we stayed at the blue hill for 5 nights. it is a really nice place built on a hill just at the end of haad rin nai (sunset). we booked a villa (bungalow) instead of a hotel room, which was really spacious and had stunning views as all the cliff side of the bungalow is only windows! there was great view even from the bathroom!
free internet is also available with 2 pcs at the reception. the pool is nice but a bit small.
the hotel has got a taxi, so they drive you anywhere with reasonable prices.
the problem was that there were too many steps to go to the reception and restaurant from the villa.
another thing is that blue hill is located a bit far from haad rin nok and the village, on one hand this is good cause it's really quiet, one the other hand you have to walk for about 20 minutes to reach the party beach. it might sound easy but as i said, blue hill is located on a hill, which means that it's easy to go down but really difficult to go up. a good idea is to go from the beach, but we didn't try it during the night.
overall we had a good experience there and if choose haad rin it's really possible that we stay there again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : you need to bargain a lot before riding on a taxi or taxi boat, they offer rides with much money but you can lower the price a lot before agreeing.
from haad rin nok to the hotel it's not more than 50 baht/person, so do not agree to pay more if they ask you to.

Amazing view over the sea to Samui Ant infestation

breakfast The hotel itself i guess is ok, the issues start when you look closer. There are thousands of ants running all over the room, the beds, the furniture, everything. Meal at night was ok but that was maybe because it was dark and i couldnt see what i was eating. When the breakfast came in the morning the toast was green, the sausages and eggs were really undercooked and to top it off there was a comlony of red ants living where we sat!! Not the greatest experience in the world!

Very steep, not for the unfit. Far too many steps from pool area to reception/restaurant. Lovely hotel, nice rooms with amazing views. We stayed in a villa right next to the pool and the beach which was lovely. The restaurant and reception are at the very top of the resort and it was soo difficult to make it up the steps. I cannot comment on the breakfast as i didnt make it up to the top very often.The pool was lovely however during the full moon party period, you have to get up quite early to get a seat beside the pool as there was only about 5 there. Hotel is about 15-20 minute walk from full moon party along ther beach and 10 minute taxi ride.

modern and clean rooms with great views of the coastline. They are in the process of building a lift for easier access to the beach and pool. They have free internet! the pool and beach are difficult to get to...need to climb 200 steps down the side of the hill in very humid weather. blue hill hotel is a charming place overlooking sunrise beach on the side of a cliff...it is a quite retreat for a couple that want to escape from the party goers and very load music played from the resturants on sunrise beach. I would rent a scooter for easiet access into town.
Travel tip : The room which I was staying in had such a magnifient view that I kept the curtains open during the night and got to watch a spectacular lightning show taking place miles away.

Clean, cheap, free internet, great staff Too many steps to bungalow, construction work, away from centre Nice clean bungalows however the biggest problem was walking up the stairs every morning. We were drenched in sweat after climbing the hill to the restaurant every morning! The staff were incredibly helpful and went beyond themselves to help us.
