Malibu Beach Bungalows Koh Phangan (Samui) Info
The resort is located on the island of Koh Phangan, which has gained name as the venue for the extremely popular Full Moon Parties. Accommodation is in individual bungalows, and though basic they are right on the beach. On the beach itself there are a number of water sports that are offered by the hotel such as fishing, diving, and kitesurfing (in December). A motorbike rental service on site makes it possible to explore the rest of the island with ease from the beaches to the villages. In the evening, get together for a fun dinner with barbecue, Thai and international dishes and cocktails. A must try is the popular Malibu Beach Breeze. Quiet, clean rooms, direct access to beach, good food
Far from ferry, staff slow.
A perfect resort if you want a quiet stay but far from Had Rin and full moon parties (which, as far as I'm concerned, is a good thing). Great restaurant on the beach and walking distance (5 minutes to restaurants in the small fishing village nearby). Short drive to other beaches if you want to explore. Don't expect great service though.
Hotel Feature Tip : I couldn't decide if I should spend the extra money to get an air conditioned bungalow but in the end went with a fan room which was fine - breezes keep it cool and I was actually a bit cold at night with just the fan.

Lovely restaurant right on the beach, that serves good local food and a plated English breakfast. Nice pool, very close to a lovely little fishing village
fan only bungalows are tiny with no hot water. Not value for money compared to other accommodation in the area.
Booked a fan only room on Agoda and received good discount, but when we arrived we were the only ones there and they gave us the tiniest bungalow as far away from the beach as you could get. The fan only rooms have no hot water and there is just enough space for the bed. Nowhere to put any luggage! We looked around the next day and found much better value for money bungalows (less than half what we were paying)
Restaurant Tip : The "Lost Dog" bar in the village is owned by an American and is the local for quite a large Western community living in the area. They are all very welcoming so check it out.
If you hire a bike and travel through Leam Son on the way to Thong Sala, look out for Mama Pooh's restaurant. Gorgeous food and large portions so think of sharing

The bungalows are very small but it seems a village on its own and thats the beauty of the hotel. The best part is we stayed in fan room and it was very cold in the night so we saved money for AC room. it has private back water beach and own shack which has almost everything you need to spend a peaceful evening.
Far from hard rin pier , no taxi easily available but thongsala pier is very reachable
Nightlife Tip : visit sheesha bar 5 minutes walk from the hotel
