Architecture, design, nice part of the island
long taxi ride to get anywhere, fishy smell
The place was very well decorated and I loved the design. However I was not able to communicate with the staff very well and when our safe wouldn't open, it took a full day for them to get it open. A bit inconvenient. Otherwise, a nice stay but do watch out for all the flies.

The size of the rooms, jacuzzi, non-touristy town
Smell of the fish drying next door, communication with staff, breakfast options not clear
When we arrived there was only one room booked and it was nice to have the place to ourselves. However, the sheets were dirty which was kinda gross. Also we had a really hard time getting the safe open after it malfunctioned for two days. The breakfast was ok but when the meat was inedible, I was refused a replacement of toast. The flies were awful and I never did get over the overwhelming smell of fish.

It is in a lovely quiet location on the island and the rooms were really nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. The beach was beautiful.
We had a really nice time at the Mandalai Hotel. The hotel backs onto a beautiful quiet beach with breath-taking views. The staff were all very pleasant, friendly and helpful. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, big and ours even had a jacuzzi.There's a lot of DVDs to borrow to watch in your room too. Great value for money!
Restaurant Tip : There's a lovely italian restaurant a little down the road from Mandalai (past the 7 Eleven). There's an italian chef there and his food was fantastic!
