Quiet and peaceful. Away from all the moon parties. Service staff is great. Resort blends in with its environment.
The beach at the resort is artifical so it will drop suddenly and its rocky.
This is one of our favorite resort out of our trip to Thailand. They first pick you up in a modified golf cart truck with benches on top and cart you to the lobby and rooms. The buildings all blend in perfectly with the trees keeping a natural look to everything. The resort was very nature friendly compared to some of the resorts in Koh Samui. The staff was super helpful, we took a snorkeling tour and also a cooking class which we loved. The pool was refreshing and beautifully designed. It was an infinity pool with 2 waterfalls. The beach at the resort is rocky, so be careful. They offer snorkeling equipment and kayaks for cheap. They also created a foot path to the other beach which is natural and has some beautiful white sand. If you stay here, make sure you have dinner once at the resturant by the sea. They have their own speed boat that will take you to their private pier at Koh Samui. We had a flight to catch and was short on time so we took their speed boat. It wasnt cheap, but well worth it in my opinion. The wife and I are already thinking about plans to come back to Koh Phangan and staying here with some friends.

Style, welcome, on site transport.
Very hilly:Insect bites:reaction to requests
Overall experience at Santhiya was very good. We travelled down for a few days and took the Speedboat transfer from Samui. Well worth the money. Great experience. Upon arrival and check in ,shown to our Villa which was stunning. Outside showering was something else and great fun but downside were those pesky insects. Breakfast selection was superb. Did not eat at Hotel as beach restuarants about 5 minutes away were much cheaper. Downside of hotel were the number of hills although free transport provided within complex. The sand on the private beach is gravel which is very uncomfortable to walk on wheras the main beach was beautiful white soft sand.We were embarassed when checking out as the room check revealed that we had stock missing from the Mini Bar.We had not used any and there was no replenishment during our 5 day stay so be warned stock check it upon arrival. A beach basket which we had requeted on 3 occasions and had never been supplied was also reported as missing. Worst of all there are 2 pairs of Slip on slippers in the Room which generally are supplied for your use only. We had removed these and were informed that they were not complimentary but fixtures. I returned them immediately. Had I realised this I would not have taken them and more importantly would not have worn them. I don't wear second hand shoes for obvious reasons.
Apart from that we had a great time and returned overland to the public ferry which was another unforgetable experience.
Restaurant Tip : Over the rocks at end of beach opens up a selection of great ,relaxing ,informal ,cheap eating places. Watch prices at BBQ as this can be pretty expensive.

Amazing setting for hotel. Amazing Pool and Room.
Staff were very attentative and helpful.
Price of the food in the hotel restaurant is expensive and you can eat very well on the beach
for practically half the price.
We loved this hotel and had a very memorable stay. This is a top class resort that I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone to experience. Everything is of the highest order. You will not be disappointed. The room, pool, service and setting was amazing. Easily the best place we have ever stayed in.
Restaurant Tip : The best restaurant on the beach is the restaurant that you reach first on the beach from the hotel. Get there early as they often sell out of BBQ

Location, quiet, private beach, friendly and professional staff.
The beach was very green with lots of algae and didn't make for much fun with snorkeling. Santhiya is a beautiful resort spread out across a large mountainside and so you need the resort's golf carts to get around. We stayed in the 102-106 rooms which were within easy walking distance to the resort. However, if you don't like walking around then make sure you get a room closer to the reception.
We went there for the May Full Moon Party but didn't want to stay on the crowded and noisy Haad Rin. Agoda had a great price for the Santhiya and we liked the location and wonderful amenities. The staff was incredibly helpful and always smiling when you walked by. The food was wonderful too but you can always go down to the beach next to the resort for cheaper fare and a wider selection.
Restaurant Tip : Walk over to the adjacent beach for less expensive and a wider selection of Thai food and activities. There are regular longtails there you can take to get to other parts of the island.

Staff, location, swimming pool, breaksfast, fruit shakes.
We arranged to use the hotels taxi service to collect us from the ferry port - you need to do this the road to this hotel is only paved in places so a 4x4 is needed. But when you get there it is fab well worth treating someone special to a few nights, very romantic place and the staff would probably do anything you ask to enhance your stay. It is set in the jungle and each villa is hidden away so very private the cheap rooms are even fantastic with a view out to sea and jungle every around you. Breakfast is very good quality as are the food snacks from the pool/beach bar and the restaurant they are a little expensive but extremely good quality. Didn't use the spa/massage facilities. Would recommend this hotel for complete relaxation especially if you can get a good rate via the internet. They even 'fog' weekly to reduce mosquitoes.
Restaurant Tip : Fruit shakes from the pool bar are the best in Thailand!

the location, the staff and the remote area of phangnan
the price of wine and beer is a bit high
This is my 3rd stay at the Santhyia it is an expensive hotel for thailand but i do believe it is worth it. The hotel and grounds are quite beautiful and very relaxing and has very get away from it all feel.
I would recommend the hotel to anyone who is a bit adventerus and likes to be in remote parts of thailand
Travel tip : it is worth taking the speed boat over for the extra cost

Best features location and staff. Also one of the best check ins that I have had at a resort. We were greeted with drinks, cool towels and a 10 minute thai back massage.
food prices a bit high, perhaps adding a stand up or pool bar area for cocktails only would be nice. Pool was a bit chilly.
We stayed in one of there deluxe rooms with an amazing view of the sea. The staff was very attentive and helpful in all aspects. The staff learned your name and were always helpful. Check in was excellent and fast and non stressful. At perfect way to start the holiday. The resort had a wonderful air of peace and quiet. Also the fun entertainment nights with the staff dancing Thai dances and fire throwers on the beach while you dined really added to the trip and kept you entertained. Leaving the resort was nice too with the speed boat zooming you back to Samui to catch your plane back home.
Restaurant Tip : great new hotel with bar and restaurant on beach not far from this hotel.Gives you a great feeling of dining somewhere nice directly on the beach.
