Dee Dees is a standard quest house, no frills but comfortable and nicely placed at the end of the beach away from the night noise. Unfortunately it was really the beach itself that made the stay unpleasant. The beach was filthy and dangerous as it was scattered with litter. this beach really made me think about the impact of holiday makers in this area which can be upsetting.

Nice basic resort.
Stayed in an air con room which was definately worth the extra
money.
Had previously heard complaints about sewage smell in bathroom;
We did not find this to be a problem but the drain did not drain well.
Lovely garden with hammocks to relax in when the sun gets too much.
Got a free afternoon of kayaking and snorkelling as we stayed for 4 nights
which was lovely.
Overall good value for money.
Not a swimming beach as tidal shallow and floating algae.
Long tail boat to the other beaches to swim.
Close to town for restaurants and bars but rooms pretty soundproof to
bar noise (not sure about the bungalows)

EVERY HOTEL on Phi Phi is $$$
Dee Dee was best value & we're happy with our choice
Rooms are BASIC
PROS:
-awesome staff
-beautiful location on the beach (beach not so great)
-beach chairs
-free tea/coffee to9pm
-no fridge but can use their fridge during the day & a cooler w ice at night
-complimentary water
-CUTE garden w chairs, tables & hammocks
-private porches with 2 chairs & table
-bowl of water outside to wash your feet (cute touch but sand still makes its way inside!)
-at night, citronella coils on each porch to help keep the mosquitoes away
-near bars & food but at end of beach so quiet
-massage on premises I THINK
-kayak rental
-sell ferry tickets(cheaper than booking online)
-AC good but dripped over the bed but you can move the bed
-drying rack
-vanity table & chair
-no bed bugs
-lockers at reception (but not in room)
CONS:
-lots of crap in water
-all sand when tide out. starts to stink NOT DEE DEE'S FAULT
-$$$ for what it is (most we have paid anywhere in Thailand & we get awesome rooms) BUT that's Phi Phi!
-no pool
-can't put paper in toilet
OVERALL: HIGHLY recommend Dee Dee Beach House. Sure, you could get a nicer place, but you'll be paying TONS more and for what? You're on Phi Phi, don't spend all your time in your hotel! Get out, do a day trip, go up to the viewpoint for sunset, go kayaking, walk around the island, check out the beach bars / restaurants.. only use your hotel for sleeping and getting ready! Dee Dee is a great place to get some rest after a long day / night and the staff are some of the nicest people we have met in our 1.5 months travelling throughout Thailand.
Probably not great for kids, but there was a couple with a baby and they were fine. Great for solo or couple travelers (or even a group as there's a good common area in the garden). If you're looking for luxury, go elsewhere.. if you want a decently priced (for Phi Phi) hotel with nice people and a nice place to chill after a long day.. this is the place for you!

Let me start out by saying that the staff is so super friendly and helpful, warm and welcoming. This place is located right on the beach, Loh Dalam Bay side. It's a trek from the harbor so hire someone to help you out with your luggage if it's heavy. The roads are not cobbled well and are often flooded.
The grounds are tiny but well-kept. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. the bathroom is simple but provides cold and hot water. My room had AC, but I believe they also offer non AC options.
My only complaint is one that I'm not sure was exclusive to Dee Dee's Beach House or if it was island-wide. The toilet drainage was sometimes unreliable (even though I never flushed my tissue down the toilet). And worst of all, the running water (from both the sink and shower) sometimes had a smell of sewage to it. That's a disturbing smell to say the least, especially when all you want to do is get clean at the end of the days and/or night's activities. Whoa for you if you have any open sores or wounds, that could be disastrous, if my nose is right.
And I don't care where your room is, be prepared for the boom boom boom of the night life. As one of the scuba instructors said to me, every night is Saturday night on Ko Phi Phi.

Great few days in Dee Dees beach house although i wouldnt recommend staying on Koh Phi Phi more than 3 days. Room was clean and tidy, sparce but thats fine for the cost and the location. You are 50 meters walk from the nearest bar, it is relatively loud until about 4am but not overly. The water in the bathroom absiolutely stinks but you get used to it and the shower is good so no big deal.

This place is fantastic location to go party on the beach at night (until 2.30 am only, after it is quiet). not good for family with kids though or people wanting to sleep
on day time location is perfect on the beach but not near busy area with boats. Perfect location !
However bad side is bad smell in the room and the bed sheets old and not clean looking.
But we stayed one night and it was good enough
Another plus: you can walk 10 min from the pier directly!
