beautiful setting top beach great restaurants (for fresh fish and thai food not western) longboats on tap

isolated somewhat - but overcome with a 20 minute longtail which is kindof worth it in itself

Phi Phi has changed. gone is the quaint town and views on Tonsai. So come here for a true get away from it all experience. No-one to disturb you, private beach, staff that can't help but look after you, great views, sunrise on one side of the island and a short 5 min walk to see sunset on the other.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : befriend a local longtail driver called Wan. he's fantastic and can take you to the best places around phi phi for snorkelling also only eat the fresh fish at the a la carte restuarant. They cook it however you wish (seriously) and can help with whatever local meal you'd like. stay away from the fresco fruit wine though!

The location is lovely and the people we met in the area were as well.

Towels are very old

We stayed here for 3 days and had a wonderful time. Our bungalow was very near the beach and was adequately equipped. The highlights for me were a boat trip around the local islands and watching the sunset at the Sunset Bar. By hiring the boat at the beach we got an excellent deal and spent some 7 hours touring the islands for around £45. Having the boat to ourselves was very romantic and really matched the whole feeling of the islands. We would certainly return here.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Hire a boat locally and enjoy the wonderful snorkelling and islands.

A tolerable stay...... Guest Rating: 6.7

- Nice View and nice environment - Friendly staff - Comfortable bed and pillow - Various of outdoor activities to choose from

- No TV - Small swimming pool - Should provide more entertainments/indoor activities in the hotel - Less food choices in both restaurant menu - Less food choices in the breakfast, perhaps different kind of breakfast food daily - Walkway to my room is dark - Massage environment is not good to me, may be not clean enough - Hope to have bathtub with the price i paid for

I am not critic the hotel but the room that I am paying for. The beachfront bungalow that I am paying for is not value for money in my point of view. I don't expect the room is so 'empty' when I arrived, I expect something different by choosing Holiday Inn with this beachfront bungalow price. I might be big size (Height: 6’7”, Weight: 83kg, u figure yourself) to use the shower area which I can easily pay on the wall and shower curtain when I was trying to turn around in the shower area. I am not certain about the other hotels offer, but Holiday Inn offer various of outdoor activities for customer. My wife and me have 4 hours trip in the first day and another 4 hours trip & 2 hours fishing trip in the second that really bring recreation and relaxation to us. Whereas, the indoor activities/entertainment is less, no TV, small swimming, only few games in the leisure room even the snooker table and cue have no maintenance. Anyway, the staff especially the long-tail boat drivers are worth od praise. They are very friendly, enthusiastic, very helpful and always put us as their first priorities which I am very much appreciated.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Mosquito Island is a must to visit as there has a beautiful coral. Swimming in Phi Leh is my most enjoyable time in the trip. Try the Tom Yam soup in both restaurant either if you are Tom Yam soup lover.

Hotel is right on the beach in a lovely tranquil setting. Wonderful hilltop sunset bar- open from 5-7pm daily.

Hotel looks tired-- everything needs updating.

We had booked a Garden bungalow but were assigned a Seaview bungalow. Nice! Room itself was a good size and very clean but not luxurious. The the furniture looks old. If you're hoping to feel pampered, then this is not the place for you. The transfer back to Phuket was tedious and not cheap. Hotel charges THB 1,900 a person for the ferry ticket plus the taxi transfer from Phuket pier to hotel. The whole process starts at 7am with the Holiday Inn longtail boat taking you and your bags to the ferry anchored in front of the hotel; the ferry then makes a few more stops along the beach to pick up passengers from other resorts; you arrive at Phi Phi's Tonsai Bay pier at 8am and you have an hour to kill before the ferry leaves for Phuket. You finally arrive Phuket at 11am.

Restaurant Tip : The sea gypies live and work next to the Holiday Inn, operating a very successful restaurant. They are just lovely.

Nice location, great beach, friendly staff.

Bungalows slightly dated and somewhat overpriced.

We had a Beach Front Bungalow and easy access to a beautiful beach. Staff were very friendly and food and drinks were good in the restaurant. A variety of water sports and tours were avilable. We took an early morning boat toru to Maya Beach which was really nice. The bungalow was quite OK but somewhat dated and overpriced.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : We bought our ferry tickets to and from Phi Phi in advance at the tourist information in Krabi and this proved much cheaper than buying the return ticket at Phi Phi.

Amazing loacation on private beach Amazing buffet breakfast Endless list of activities, and your able to scuba dive or snorkle on the corel reef just from the shore of the hotel. This is truely paradise! Rooms are nice and private. Pool is unreal.. WHAT A HOTEL!

No TV within the rooms, and prices are expensive at restaurant. You need to catch a private boat to the hotel, as there are no roads on the island. Boat cost roughly $50 AUD. Hard to get from the hotel back to the main shopping area, best of bringing food and things with you, when you check in...if reqyuired.

This is truely an amazing hotel, and the best I have ever been to. There is a long list of activities they organise every day, and there is plenty to keep busy. Spent 2 nights here, and was not enough. What a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the Thai sun shine.

Restaurant Tip : Walk down the beach to the left hand side about 100 meters, and there is a little restaurant situated on the actual beach. Best food I have eaten in Thailand!

Garden bungalows very agreable and close to the beach, people very nice, boat services OK, masks, fins, kayak for free, water absolutely cristal clear in the pool and in the sea

Not much variety for the food, and the girl at the pro-shop seemed to be bored by her job, and not reacting too much to customers.

Excellent area for resting, beaching, sand is very clean, water crystal clear, a large variety of beautiful sea fishes when snorkeling, swimming and or kayaking in these warm waters was really a great pleasure even when it was low tide. On the food subject, not much variety, so we felt that going to other beach restaurants was sometimes a requirement. There was one night show given by employees (Thai dancing) which was very nice. As the hotel is located north of Kho Phi Phi, there is not much to do after beach, and going to Tonsai bay, south of the island is not very convenient. As such, this hotel and its surrounding is ideal for resting.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : good boat trips to other little island around Koh Phi Phi

Private Beach, Restaurant, Hammocks, Happy Hours, Sunsets, Quiet.

* No T.V. or Internet in Rooms. * Staff tries to persuade to do Hotel sponsored activities that are more expensive. (snorkeling, diving, and treks).

After reading previous reviews. The Holiday Inn was everything I expected. Although, it is a bit expensive, it was definitely worth it. The beaches, water, and sunsets from that part of Koh Phi Phi are breathtaking. The restaurant was very good and the breakfast that was included in the room price was first rate. The Holiday Inn also had a happy hour every day where most drinks were BHT 100 ($3.00). The bungalow where we stayed was a seaview and was great for the price. If it is in your price range I would recommend staying in the seaview or beach bungalows. The gardens are up on the hill and away from the beach. In addition, there is a great place to watch the sunset from a bar on a hilltop that overlooks the ocean. After checking out the other accommodations on that part of Koh Phi Phi Island, I think the Holiday Inn is your best bet. The Zaeveola is just as good if not better, but much more expensive. For those who are on a budget, there is area right next to the Holiday Inn called Gypsie Sea Village. Here you can eat, and buy groceries for much cheaper than the Holiday Inn or any of the other hotels. The rooms were a bit dated, but clean and comfortable. There are no t.v.'s in the room and the hotel has 2 computers for internet in the lobby. The rate they charge is $7.00/hour. Finally, there is no nightlife here, but if you are considering this part of the Island, you are not interested in that anyway.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : snorkeling off Mosquito/Bamboo Island is great sunsets at the hilltop bar.

The Holiday Inn at Phi Phi is an exceptional hotel for the rating it has been allocated. The rooms are very good and the service, particularly of the cleaning staff was commendable. The restaurant was capable of serving a good variety of food both western and Thai. A very nice hotel

Great location Laem Tong Beach

If in the garden bungalows at the bag can hear the frog party at night. No TV in the bungalows - late at night might want to catch the news maybe.

Holiday Inn was the next best thing to Zeavola another hotel on the strip. Staying on Laem Tong Beach was a really special and wonderful and would recommend it. I would certainly stay at this hotel again as it offered good value for money. However if you can and there are some available opt for the beach facing hut.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Use the local men for the days trips in their boat, it is cheaper. The hotels use these guys anyway and charge you more.

Very good breakfast, wonderful beach next to the resort

The rooms are very disappointing, not really like the pictures as shown on agoda.com water in the showers was not so hot, no T.V in the room, and bad air conditioning.

To summarize the experience, we can say that we were happy that at least there is a wonderful beach next to the resort. We can also say that the resort itself is quite nice. But, the pictures of the rooms are deceiving- the rooms are quite old and the facilities inside the rooms are very low quality.

Restaurant Tip : Good and cheap resaurant next to the resort named: "Jasmin". Very cool guy name Peter runs it and he is also a wonderful diving instructor. We highly recommend both the food and the wonderful trips he is leading.I f you face the beach from the resort just take a left and walk on the beach 200m and you are there.
