Beautiful resort - Terrible Service!

Phi phi island village is a stunning resort with a beach with no water, a pool with no sun beds, rooms with no service!
Apart from the amazing garden and infinity pool, the hotel is very over priced for what you get.
The rooms are in desperate need of renovation, they are dark and old. The food and drink in the hotel are seriously over priced, so much so that you are forced to leave the hotel and eat in the little town situated outside the back gates.

A very nice resort in a very beautiful location.
We loved our stay at the Phi Phi Island Village. A very romantic and beautiful location, good service, good facilities.
The resort is very secluded and you will have a to use the facilities at the resort, the resort has a number of restaurants, serving international food in a good quality.

everything looked and felt very nice, other than the time to reach there. there aren't too many direct international flights to phuket. and so took us 8-9 hours to reach phuket from india, inspite of reaching bangkok in just 3hrs.
airport to phi phi island village takes easily minimum of 4hours. and if you dont reach at the ferry times (only twice a day), you are quite stuck for another 3-4hours.
other than the travel, the hotel is good, but little bit on the expensive side.

This hotel clearly deserves the 5 Stars! Its location, beautifully arranged bungolows and garden, activity options, restaurant choice and food quality were excellent! A perfect and romantic get away for a couple which wants to escape the busy beaches of Phuket.

The only positive about that resort was the view over phi phi village beach resort. Since we have small kids, this hotel gave us exactly what we needed, relaxed happy days by the pool/beach in a nice hotel with great food and nice staff. We stayed in a bungalow on second row which was very nice. Perfect sized for a small family. I can recommend to have some dinners at the cheap village (a couple of houses) outside the hotel area, behind the resort. The you can also book much cheaper day trips than they offer at the hotel. I can also recommend the private speed transfer to Phuket when you leave (the hotel provides this at extra cost) then you don't have to go into the main harbour and you save a lot of transfer time.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Don't go to Maya beach, totally surreal experience. It's a very nice beach, but crowded with thousands of Japanese people just standing there for 30 minutes, been there, done that and then back on the boat again

Amazing private resort on Phi Phi

we stayed here for part of our honeymoon and it was just heaven. the beach is private to the resort and it's guests. the beach is clean and the water is beautiful and warm. lots of activities can be booked from resort for boat trips, snorkelling, tennis, yoga etc.
we thoroughly enjoyed staying there and will be going again sometime in the future!

It is not a five stars, the food is average, the beach is not so good because of the tide and the water is more cristalin in many other places of Phi Phi Island. The staff is not so kind and you feel that your own value is the money you can expend there or they can get from you...
Travel tip:
Look for an other hotel with a better balance between cost and value.

Premium resort for honeymooners

The hotel services - personnel, spa, dining options - were outstanding. As honeymooners we were upgraded from the Beachfront Suite to the Hillside pool villa - which was marvelous. A great place for those who are not deterred by the high price.

We stayed here for our honeymoon. It was a very nice resort and the best that we saw on Phi Phi Island. They had great excursions and our personal staff assistant was the most helpful person. She arranged everything for us on our first day and we didnt have to worry about anything. We had a romantic dinner on the beach, snorkeling, swimming, island hopping. It was great, and the upgrade to the Hillside Pool Villa was definitely a big bonus.
Restaurant Tip:
The pricing is a little high within the resort, the massages are the same price I pay in new york but they give you discounts and entice you to do more with them. There is a big secret to the Phi Phi Island village. We found a whole community just behind the resort where we could get Thailand priced food and drinks (about 1/3 of the resort prices).
I would definitely say to do most of your activities with PhiPhi Island Village but go for drinks and dinners at the community in the back - I recommend KnockOut Bar run by Chet and Ratt who were awesome - best spring rolls in Thailand.
