Good location near everything but....old

The hotel is very well located in facing the sea but without a beach that we really can use. We can enter the the sea but not really lie down on the sand.
The hotel premises are too old and not well maintained. Everywhere is something missing showing clearly signs of aging but no one seems to care.
The hotel room are well located but the room smell bad, humidity, the bathroom isn't nice with broke things.
The reception of the hotel is unfriendly, swimming pool staff are lazy, they do everything to not work. The staff smoke in the hotel premises and throw the remaining cigarettes on the floor...I even saw a security guard from the hotel urinating on the wall of my hotel room building.
The swimming pool look good from distance, but we didn't enter in the water because the floor was dirty, tiles were dark as they haven't been cleaned in years...or have never been...disgusting.
The breakfast was good, good assortment, normal service, not friendly but not unpolite. Staff look unhappy and not motivated.
Spa area near the swimming pool, no male thereapists available. Guests receiving massage lie in matrassen on the floor and have their butts half (or totally) exposed to everyone passing by...
We don't return to this hotel and we don't recommend this hotel to people going to Phi Phi. We stayed here 2 nights.

Nice, spacious hotel with a great location between the pier and beach. Great pool. Far enough away from the beach bars to not be too noisy of a night. Major let down for the price, >5,000baht a night, is no free wi-fi. Even the restaurants offered this for spending 100baht. I asked for the password and was shown a list of prices. I did note a few people using internet on tablets/phones in the reception area so not sure whether they had another deal.

Lovely hotel, superb location

The Cabana hotel was simply excellent, from our room overlooking both pool and the ocean to the facilities and service. The location was also good, close to the boat pier, but far enough away from the noise and bustle that it was almost never heard, yet when required was only a short couple of minutes walk away.

we had a great view from our room, hotel is very peaceful and big. i think this is the biggest hotel in the island. but this hotel is bit old. room was not so big but comfortable enough. bathroom seems to be old, and water had a smell. maybe because too close to the sea. the hotel has a private beach. you can have a dip whenever you want.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
You must go to phi phi view point 1 & 2, worth the walk of 600 meters up from the stairs. Must visit maya bay too.

The location of the hotel was only 3mins walk from the pier. The room was big enough for couples and the swimming pool was great. You can see the sea from the pool and the view is spectacular.

This was the perfect place to stay! Great rooms with great views. The location was awesome. You are far enough away from the loud party for it not to bother you, but close enough for a $100 baht per person taxi boat to take you to it when you want a more lively scene. There is a great bar right next to the hotel with good drinks and fire shows. Everyone is really nice. The only down side to this resort is the breakfast buffet. It is bad. But everything else makes up for it so much that I would stay here again.

i've been reading some of the reviews for this hotel before booking here. most of them say this hotel is not worth the money but i had a different experience. location was perfect and close to the pier, bars and market. since we are heavy packers and always jumping around it was very convenient for us to book nearby the pier and the shops but still not sacrificing the serenity of the beach. we had a nice view of the pool and the cove from our room. the hotel and facilities were old but it still works for us. the breakfast was one of the best we had in thailand as well, offering bacons and fried rice. the staff were so nice, the receptionist even accompanied us to the room and suggested a simple activity for one of our lazy afternoons. the pool is a must try. don't let the exterior design of the hotel fool you, the inside is great but then again it's old. oh, there are no elevators!
Shopping Tip:
located near the pier so technically at the end of the shopping area. get a map from the reception and get lost around the streets of phiphi, we walked around and reached viewpoint for sunset to end our journey then went down to have dinner and drinks.
