cabana is a great first base when you get to phi phi. quiet enough at night that you can't hear the beach bars but close enough to walk into tonsai town. clean rooms,nice staff.
Nightlife Tip:
Solo travellers, you can meet people at most bars but reggae bar is the most fun, thai boxing, pool tables, easier to have a chat here than at Slinky's on the beach.

Great Location But on the Expensive side

during our thailand trip we stayed at some excellent 5 star resorts. this hotel was our last stay in thailand so we may have been a little spoiled but we felt that the accomodations were expensive for what services and room we recieved. the location was definitely perfect. we walked our own luggage from the pier right to the hotel. we could hang out in the beach and walk a few steps and jump right into the huge pool (after showering of course) the pool was the best part of the hotel. the hotel has interenet but you have to pay for it. for the price of the hotel the internet should have been free. the breakfast buffet is good. all in all the hotel is nice but the biggest positve is the location and the pool.

The hotel is probably one of if not the nicest on the island. Its a 3 minute walk from where the ferry docks and 5 minutes to where all the shops are.
Rooms were clean, comfortable and the staff were very helpful with our requests.
Breakfast has a great choice of hot and cold food and drinks.
The pool overlooks the sea so the location is perfect.
Only complaint - you have to pay for wifi!
It was a perfect relaxing end to our trip in Thailand. No complaints.

the hotel was nice and the location was right next to the pier so it was perfect. our room had an amazing view of the bay and it was beautiful. very nice pool. the breakfast was good. the only negative is the service was ok- pretty much non-existant.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Hire a long boat and go early to avoid the crowds of tourists that got to some of the popular sights.

when we checked in to the hotel we got a room which had 2 enternce
one from the pool and an exit to the beach, BUT you cant use the beach entrance because the door lock only from the room.
the room is very nice except the bathroom !
we switched 7 rooms until we got a decent bathroom, and still we showered with slippers
because the hotel is very large the rooms are poorly maintenced !

The hotel isn't anything fancy but is definitely one of the nicest hotels in heart of Phi Phi Don. We had a beautiful view on the bay from our room which was amazing. The rooms are decent and nice for Phi Phi standards since the majority of options are backpacker oriented. The pool is also nice with views of the bay. I would highly recommend this hotel over some of the other options on Phi Phi.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Go on Captain Bob's Booze cruise. It is a full afternoon/ evening of cruising and he takes you over to Phi Phi Ley for snorkeling, kayaking, monkey feeding etc and it is all you can drink! Meet some new friends and enjoy the fun crew.

It was a great surprise when we turned up and walked into a spacious room with the most amazing view of the pool area and the beach. It is close enough to walk 5 mins to 'party' for the younger crowd, or far enough that you can enjoy staying in the main part of Phi Phi but away from the hussle and bustle of the younger crowd. There is access from the beach so no matter which side you are on you can access the motel. Reasonably clean facilities.
Restaurant Tip:
Papaya....great food!
