Nice place in a regular resort
4.3
Private beach but no possibilities to move around the island a part from using long tail boat.
The resort is not too clean but if you are not a 5 stars traveller you can adapt.

Very nice beach resort, ideal for families/couples
Amazing service, beautiful beach
9
As other comments have noted, this is away from Tonsai Village, which is what many people are looking for. You can hike over to Tonsai (a sweaty hike but you go past the viewpoint, which is nice) in 45 min to an hour.
Pretty much everyone here is a couple or with family. It isn't the place to go if you're a solo traveler looking to meet a ton of other backpackers or young folks. But it's great if you want a place to chill and relax on the beach without a lot of crowds. The beach is beautiful, and everyone at the resort puts a ton of effort into providing high-quality service.
Food is only available through their restaurant, which has a markup of 10-20% from what you'd pay on Tonsai. Most of the dishes are pretty solid but definitely not spectacular.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Rent a snorkel from the resort (or bring your own) and snorkel out in front of the beach. It's right up close and pretty awesome.

It's all in the name
Best spot, far from the craziness of central Phi Phi

If you are looking for relax and beach this is the right place. We really enjoyed our stay there, we regretted we stayed only one night!

A beautiful paradise!!
Great beach, Clean Bungalows, Delicious food!

had an amazing stay at this resort. very relaxing! the bungalows are very nice, large and clean. the private beach is great for relaxing and swimming. loved being in the hammocks that hung right over the water. the restaurant had great food, some of the best food i had in thailand at very reasonable prices. the staff is very friendly and goes out of there way to help you. if you want to leave the resort you have to take one of the relax boats which is a bit more pricey. but other then that highly reccomended!! loved the stay!

Good place to relax
Beach, hammock, bungalow with terrace
9.7
great place to relax. it worth to stay for several days. no alternatives for the cafe, meals starts, fruit shake - beer. there were people with children of 3 - 8 years old, but no really attractions from them other than sea. snorkeling masks for rent a pretty cheap per day but a good quality. the sea is clear but not much to see there.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Go to the view point (30 min walk).

Decent place, but difficult to cheaply sightsee.
Private bungalows, great views of the sea.
5.7
Staff not particularly friendly, although this did not come as a surprise after reading other reviews.
More of a minor issue: tour assistant on the ferry noted that the resort had a free longtail boat which would take us to the resort. Easily found and loaded up. Upon arrival and during check-in, informed that we were charged 150 baht per person for the trip, so clearly this is what they commonly do. If we had known about that deception, would have bargained with another longtail boat to take us to and from the location.
Also difficult to get away without using the location's own longtail boats -- other boat operators must know that they are not permitted to enter the small cove. Therefore, would strongly recommend doing a bit of tour shopping at Ao Ton Sai before heading here, and know that the 1/2 day sightseeing tour is 700 baht per person; full day is 1000 baht. Longtail boat rides get more expensive if they don't have at least three passengers (which is also a problem if you are just a couple).

Know that food is not permitted in your bungalow, and they don't like you bringing food in from the outside. Expect to pay quite a bit for food and drink while here.

Very cute little bungalows on a nice beach
clean and cute bungalows, nice staff, beautiful beach
7.3
we had a very pleasant stay at the relax beach resort. it is very isolated, situated on a beautiful whitesand beach. the water is so clear that we can see lots of fishes.
the bungalows are small but very cute and nice.
the staff at the hotel was smiling and helpful (beside the owner who was not very warm).

One of the best places I have stayed
Beautiful beach for sunbathing, swimming, snorkelling, super friendly staff, gorgeous bungalows
8.3
if you are thinking of staying at relax - just go ahead and do it.
phi phi island can be swarmed by tourists, and tonsai is pretty hectic - but relax is on the other side of the island and feels far away from every thing. 40 or so beautiful bungalows emerge out of the forrest on the edge of the beach as you arrive by long tail boat.
the beach is amazing - beautiful and secluded, great for swimming and sunbathing, and amazing for snorkelling.
the staff are super friendly and helpful. if you are looking for an "away from it all" island experience, this is it. highly recommend doing the 1 day snorkelling tour (1000 baht) - its not to be missed.
we ended up extending out stay by 2 nights - even when the resort was fully booked the staff let us sleep in the massage hut next to the water.
only downside was a massage which left me with a strained back four days later.
also it is extremely family friendly. we loved staying somewhere with little kids charging around the beach while their parents relaxed. if you have little kids, this is a great spot.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
the snorkelling trip is amazing. maya beach (where they filmed the beach) is pretty woeful (you can't really sees the beach through the throng of tourists), but everything else is amazing - blue lagoons, hand feeder fish and monkeys, snorkelling on coral reefs.

Relaxing it certainly was
8.7
we have returned to the uk after spending 7 nights at phi phi relax and we certainly did relax.
we stayed in beachfront room (b3)the rooms are fairly spacious for 2 people. with only about 5 paces to the baech we could not have asked for a better location.
the resort seems very well staffed and the ones we had dealings with were very helpful and friendly. the food was good quality and a large enough menu not to get bored.
if i were going to be very picky...the only slight drawback (and slight it is)...is that the electric goes off at approx 7am after the fan went off we found the room heated up very quickly so did not have any lie-ins....although we didnt want to waste the sunshine and warm waters anyway.
just a point for others wishing to visit the phi phi relax ...the sun dips down quite early on this side of phi phi and if there is a high tide you lose the sun a bit early......although not a problem for us just another excuse for a cocktail!!
all in all a great place to unwind and enjoy doing very little and we would visit again.

Lovely hotel
Location, location, location!
8.7
Nice staff and the bungalows where very authentic. Although primitive, the bungalows increased our experience of the original Thailand, which is not very common on Phi Phi anymore.
