Great escape from the crazyness of phi phi

was a beautiful place, 3 nights is more than enough for a solo traveller. their full day and half day trips where amazing and cheaper that what you'd find in town. the resturant is great, well priced meals with delicious food. all the staff are champs! it is very isolated and can be a little boring but would be great for a couple and family too. cons, the fish that will nip you when you go diving just off the shore.

Great location but watch the mosquitos

enjoyed this hotel but the mosquito curtain around the bed was ripped and ineffective so we were bitten numerous times. had to apply repellent in the middle of the night. beware!
snorkeling trip to mosquito island was a high point.

Comfortable little Bungalow

Cons: A lot of flies around and the front door of our bungalow (the painting of the bungalow seemed to attrackt them), stained bed sheets, staff made fun of people behind their backs, just smiling as long as you looked at them, lots of moskitos (not the hotels fault)

Beautiful Beach/Decent Accommodations

the beach at relax was beautiful and the bar/restaurant area was very nice and a lot of fun. the rooms were nice and had a really cool "outdoors" feel. however, i didn't feel 100% about the cleanliness of the room/bathroom. it was probably more of an issue of the room and bathroom being so open to the elements rather than a lack of effort from the staff.
also, the beach/hotel is about a 20-25 minute longtail boat ride from the pier and town area. so if you want to go out to dinner/drinking/shopping you can plan on at least a 40 minute round trip and later at night it gets very difficult to find a longtail boat back at any type of decent price.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Right next to the hotel is a hiking trail (it's a rather rigorous work out if you aren't much of a hiker, it's about an hour and mostly up steep hills through the jungle) that takes you up to the famous viewpoint of Koh Phi Phi Don and it's absolutely beautiful.

we had a wonderful stay here, we stayed at two resorts on phi phi and this was definately the one we enjoyed the most, but we wanted to feel like we were somewhere else, not just stay in a resort that could be anywhere in the world. the staff were very helpful and the excursions in the long boats were great, not crowded or touristy, you felt like you were not just part of a large crowd. this is not a party resort if that is what you are looking for, but it provides a beautiful location without losing the feel of being in thailand.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Don't stay here if you are going to miss your electricity, television, air-conditioning because you wont enjoy, but if you want to get away from it all - this is just beautiful.

not a bad hotel on phi phi island if you want to have privacy with your other half. good beach. accommodation is rather plain but sufficient enough. not a luxury hotel :)

relax is the word, lovely beach at your doorstep, tours depart and organized from the resort...downside is no power in the daytime,and no hot water for a shower,......but who needs that in paradise......

Excellent snorkeling, quiet, clean
There are many pros: super-friendly staff, excellent snorkeling (better than on our speed boat trip), beautifull beach, not so many people on the beach, clean rooms and very good food.

some comments:
food is excellent, but on the pricey side (fried rice 150-180, curry soup with rice 210-240, cocktail 200, small beer 70, big water 50).
some extras are not free, like transfer between harbour and resort (150/one way)
there are rocks in the water at low tide, thus it is difficult to enter the water. we had some tight fitting crocs that proved extra-useful for stepping over rocks at low tide.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Booking the coral bungalow is a bit of a gamble. Two out of about six are not actualy on the beach, they just have rocks in front of them so you can't get to the water. Getting to the beach requires either jumping over big rocks, either going around two or three bungalows. result: you may find yourself further away from the beach in a coral bungalow than in a regular one that is much cheaper.

Reasonably priced and friendly staff. I did a kind of meditative/snorkeling retreat, which worked well at this out of the way spot. The massages are xlent!
