Modern, close to beach, quiet location TV channel has only few, website list 4 star, but I feel like a 2.5 star, for Thailand, this hotel is not as good as expect. I went out to see sunrise at 6 am, forgot the key, went to front desk, they told me I had to wait till 7 am until front desk people came to work. so I was sitting on porch outside of my room for 45 minutes. A 4 star hotel should take better care of guest.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take one of their pickup taxi can reach another side of island.

Beautiful, quiet, really a lovely setting. Comfy bathrobes. Can't really think of any. The resort is located in a really beautiful setting. It is simple to take a fast boat ferry from Ban Phe (something like that) and be on the beach in about 15 minutes. The ferry lets you off in shallow water on the beach. Hotel staff immediantely greats you and carries your luggage up to check in. While waiting to complete check in staff gives you a fruit drink. The rooms are cleanly decorated and have a nice balcony overlooking the ocean. A nice breakfast is offered in the morning.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Hai Sai Koew Beach is just a short open air taxi drive away. The drive alone is worth the 200 bht quite exciting. There is a Buddhist temple there and worth investigating. There are also several restaurants located on the beach. Also book a snorkel trip from that beach, it cost three of us 1800 bht. We visited several islands, were served a barbeque lunch on the National Park Beach, fed fish, etc. It was a great trip and really reasonably priced.

The new bar manager (Lion) is fantastic. Welcoming smile and excellent hospitality. A veterian in mixers and cocktails, must try! Overall an excellent for the service he's extended. :) Too far from town, incomplete toileteries. Facility's a bit old, breakfast lack of variety. Staffs are friendly.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Never commit specific taxi to take, do it on ad-hoc basis will get better rate. Otherwise they will tend to insist carriage by same taxi which is based on chartered price. Ad-hoc basis may be able to fetch sharing price which is about 90% different. Taxi's available at town centre hence no worries. Ferry is provided to hotel for free except entrance fee to the island. Do not take accept any offers by locals along the street for ferry service as it's not sending to the exact location and will cost.

koh samed is located about 6km. Off the coast of ban phe, a small town in rayong province on the gulf of thailand about 180km south of bangkok. A bus ride from bangkok to ban phe takes about 3 hours. The island can be reached in about 30 min. by ferry. 10 min. by speedboat. we offer private vans from bangkok as well as ferry trips to the island.
