Nice private beach area, beautiful pool, quirky rooms

Slightly tired rooms, in need of a little bit of paint.

Mooban Talay is not the usual place we stay when visiting Koh Samed. We usually go to the busier beaches further south, but had family visiting so decided to spend a little bit more to get a more relaxing atmosphere. Mooban Talay were very helpful with the free boat transfer and very welcoming upon arrival. The rooms are in a really amazing setting, we had booked the cheaper rooms without sea view, but the set up is so nice that the garden rooms are just as good. The rooms were quirky with a bed platform and open rain shower, but could do with a bit of paint as they are beginning to get a little bit musty. The food in the restaurant is a little bit pricey, but is similar to that of all the more expensive places on Samed. There are a range of other resorts within walking distance where the food may or may not be cheaper. We hired scooters and went down to the cheaper end of the island for our second night of our 2 night stay, it is about a 10-15 minute ride to the busier touristy areas. All in all it was exactly what we needed it to be, quiet, relaxing and away from the crowds without being too isolated.

Hotel Feature Tip : The motorbikes and ATV's from the hotel are expensive. Walk down the road towards the other hotels a bit and there are cheaper options.

u want peace, quiet, relax and do absolutely nothing in quiet surroundings just full of nice people

i think 21.oo hrs close was poor and a little entertainment could of been nice

as we say its peaceful and very quiet perfect for theretired maybe some younger people but they will have to find things for them to do ,ie sailing, sail board .watersports in general this would probably nice for the older people plus a safer way of getting from ship to shore and visa versa

peaceful and stylish beach resort

what happened to bicycles on Ko Samet?

This is a great resort for a peaceful getaway. The rooms are beautiful and clean (and the outside shower is wonderful). The beach is clean and the pool (though small) is fine. Only downside was that the (advertised) bicycles for hire have all disappered ... replaced by noisy scooters and quad bikes. Not cool in a national park! However, friendly staff and great food made up for it.

Hotel Feature Tip : getting to the hotel can be a bit tricky. make sure you confirm with the hotel how you are going to get to the island
