room is just ok but facilities are not up to the standard. food is not look presentable but very tasty i would say. overall services are good and very informative.
however there was a case where thai staff wouldn't understand english well and created some conflict with other guest at the breakfast place.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Go there earlier and catch the half day trip from the hotel (baht) then enjoy your great dinner at VongDeung Resort where is the best and reasonable price on the entire bay.

next to pool ,clean and large rooms, free and good breakfast, restaurant and beach a short walk.

The rooms were lovely and right on the beach. They were very basic but ok....the view of over looking the sea made up for it as we were rarely in the room. The beach was stunning and there was plenty to do there including kayaking and swimming in the beautiful clear waters.

We stayed for three nights just before Songkran started. Prices for accomodation at Koh Samet are in general very high compared to for instance Bangkok or Phuket compared to what you actually get. Samet Cabana has a very simple standard. But, bed was good, toilet flushing, decent shower and just at the beach what do you actually need. You are not at Koh Samet to stay in your room. Room was kept clean an neat.
Restaurant Tip:
If you want excellent thai food at reasonable prices and in a restaurant with excellent service take the 20 minutes walk to Samet Villa restaurant a few beaches away.
All of the resturant on the beach of Ao Wong Duan where Samed Cabana is located did not have food of the same quality, but for some reason the prices were much higher than at Ao Phai beach where Samet Villa is located. Again Samet Villa is the place, best Tom Yam Khung ever...

We booked 2 pool side rooms, one of the room had a broken down air conditioner which was quickly repaired the next day. Other than that it is excellent, friendly and helpful staffs, good food although a little bit limited in choice of breakfast.
Nightlife Tip:
Nice selection of restaurants closed by with a must see fire show.
