Uncomfortable
Near the beach, not too much tourists, swimming pool

Our first day in cottage pool side, we could not sleep because the room's door could be closed with a big hole which allowed insects and mosquitoes come in the room all night. We did request a new room at the reception in the morning on the next day. They could not repair the door so they proposed us the new one for the second night. Unfortunately, it was heavy rain with storm on the 2nd night, we did not have the electricity since midnight, also the rain came in the room through the hole bottom of the room door and window. We did not sleep till the morning and went out to inform the staff at the reception for cleaning the room's floor which was plenty of water. They didn't have any response or feedback on this. After breakfast, we came back to the room and saw that the floor was still dirty of water. We were unhappy and packed everything with early check out. The staff of this resort have no smile, no service mind, we had got a bad service with unreasonable price. This resort should be categorized as only 0-1 star. We will never go back to this resort again. Since we book the hotel , this resort is the worse.

Relaxed island, 3.5-4 hrs from bangkok
Free scheduled ferry 09:50 and 13:30, in quiet beach bay, good pool

Second stay at hotel.
Rooms were same, a bit spartan but comfortable, good aircon, some mosquito problems so buy mosquito incense at 7-11 in Bang Phe. BIG ant problem, so don't leave any food outside (put it in the fridge). Slow Wi-Fi as before, due to limited bandwidth. Very weak shower (should be fixed).
The pool, welcoming as before, good to watch the sunset in. The breakfast was good, considering that everything is shipped from the mainland.
The staff, like most of Samed, a bit sullen, perhaps due to too many tourists.
The beach clean, very fine white sand. However, this time due to rain, the water was green and murky. This did not disturb us, but the oil floating on the sea did; too many boats during peak season.

Very pleasant stay
The location, the free shuttle from Ban Phe and the price

Firstly, having a free shuttle that will take you directly to the resort is a real plus as my husband and I paid way too much for a speedboat. The location is perfect - at the quieter end of the beach but within very easy walking distance of all local restaurants and bars. The beach is pretty clean and the surroundings are beautiful. The breakfast isn't brillitant but is perfectly fine. It's great value for money - anything similar in Koh Samet will be much more expensive.

Relaxing and kid friendly resort

We quite enjoyed our stay at this resort. Vongdeuan Beach is quieter than many of the "party beaches" on Koh Samet and more kid friendly. The private boat to and from the resort is a nice touch. The beach is great for young children and the sea is very shallow for a long way out. Beach chairs are free and plentiful with lots of shade trees to sit under. Breakfast was good, staff was pleasant and helpful. Lots of dining options along the beach. We are likely to return here.

We stayed in Thai villa, lovely room and staff were lovely. Bit disappointed that wi fi internet advertised but unable to connect from room, only place could get was 3 metres from lobby and every time asked was told that "we are fixing it". Buffet breakfast was also very average.
