The Superior Sailor Cottage was great - big and spacious in a quiet yet convenient location in gorgeous surroundings. The quantity of beach chairs was also a big plus. The pool was also really refreshing and nice to watch the sunset from. The general location of the hotel is perfect. The service in the restaurant wasn't fabulous, not as friendly as we'd experienced elsewhere in Thailand. Koh Tao Coral Grand was perfect in terms of the location - at the quiet end of the beach, yet just a short walk to all the bars, shops, restaurants. Our room was a great size, perfect for 2 friends sharing. The beach chairs and pool were also perfect for a relaxing holiday. I'd definately stay there again.

quiet position, superb views
The cottages are so lovely positioned.
staff are extremely friendly and helpfull.
Large beds!!!
superb ensuites this was the second time we stayed at the Coral Grand and we really hope to make it an "yearly event"

food at the beach restaurant was super tasty.
and the "diving team" !! they are so friendly, helpfull and professional.
if you enjoy scuba diving you must go to Coral Grand!!!

Excellent position at quieter end of Sairee beach
Lovely beach position for breakfasts and meals. Shower flow not good - more of a steady trickle than good flow. Had to move from 116 after first night as rat excrement found in shower next morning!!! Staff acted quickly to move us to 311 which was much brighter and in better position. I sensed this had happened before as staff did not seem too surprised !!! Very enjoyable 3 night stay. Hotel in ideal quiet situation and you can enjoy lovely beach walk to busier end passing restaurants and bars on way. Plenty of choice of beach restaurants including Coral Grand. All provide excellent food at good prices. Sairee village has pleasant atmosphere with narrow streets and plenty of shops, bars and rsetaurants.
Travel tip : For snorkelling hire a man and longtail boat for day and go off and stop at various places for snorkelling and food - great day out and cheap.

The facility is really old. The 'Hot' shower is not hot - this may be the Cons of most of Koh Tao hotels and big problem for Asian guests. I don't like this hotel. Not feeling that I am in vacation at all. The welcome drink is just a cup of water :( The house keeping girl is not nice and when I asked her for waiting for 10 minutes, she is very inpatient and expressed that she could not wait. We had to leave our villa immediately - that's really bad.
Hotel Feature Tip : Very close to beach and down. 10-minute walking to down then have lots of choices for bars and restaurants.

Beach, Service, rooms, location Beautiful beach and nice serivce. The rooms are actually nicer than the website portrays. Bathroom could use some updating, but it wasn't bad.
A little annoying that the divers were always practicing in the pool. But, it's a known diving resort, so I shouldn't complain.
Restaurant Tip : Lots of beach side restaurants down the beach from the resort. Also, good options in the town nearby - walking distance from the beach.
