If you like to be away from Ao Nang's busy tourists area, this hotel will be for you. Only a short Tuk Tuk drive from the centre of Ao Nang and within walking distance from the first beach. Beautifully designed and has very friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant food is not great, but there are plenty of good quality restaurants nearby to make up for that!
- Travel tip : The first beach you come to when going from the hotel to the center of Ao Nang, is part of the Nopparat Thara National Marine Park. It is unspoiled and less touristy. The Seahorse serves excellent original Thai food for unbelievably cheap prices. If you like your food, you don't want to miss this one!

We tried to shorten our stay but the manager refused to refund our money. The beds are so hard that I ended up with a back pain for the duration of our holiday.

First off all the beach is not 600 meters from the hotel as it is stated on their website. Maybe 600 meters from the main road but it takes another 400 meters to get to the main road from the hotel. That wasn’t even the worst part. 220 baht for a large beer at the hotel was incriminating. That’s almost $7 US a beer in THAILAND! Unheard of! We were charged a hefty price on meals and alcohol because there were no restaurants or markets in the vicinity of the hotel. One word--extortion.
The service wasn’t what I expected either! We had an extra person with us so we asked if we could be charged an extra person in the room. They declined and we had to book another room. We had no choice, either book an extra room or have our friend sleep on the streets! Not cool. Fortunately we had a great time in Krabi due to all the activities outside the hotel but I would never again book a room at the Andamanee Resort.
