Comfy, quiet resort - nice base for Aonang

Aonang Paradise resort is a great hotel to stay at if you want a quiet spot but still have easy access to downtown Aonang. We would have preferred a larger resort with a bigger pool, closer to the beach. However, this hotel was quite pleasant and the Manageress was very sweet and accommodating at all times. The room was clean and apart from an extremely hard bed, we made ourselves comfortable there and found it a great getaway from the busy hustle and bustle. The MT room where we stayed was possibly the nicest room and close to the pool and the bar. The cocktails at the bar where of the best we had in Aonang and the prices were very reasonable. The daily buffet breakfast was satisfactory but pretty basic. You could order eggs which were prepared very nicely. We never ate in the hotel until the last day when we were sitting around the pool. The food we ordered was pretty good and very reasonably priced as well. The pool is quite small, but it wasnt busy when we were there so that never posed a problem. They laundry service was excellent and very cheap. All in all, this resort was quite satisfactory and clean and pleasant if you are looking for a decent place to stay in Aonang. Having looked around at other hotels and resorts, I will quite honestly say that unless you pay top dollar for one on the beach front, you will find this resort is probably better than most of the others in town. It is only a quick walk into town, and if you dont want to be harassed by all the Indian Tailors and eateries nor the hundreds of massage places, you are best to catch a tuk tuk down to the beach area at 20Baht pp. I think the hotel may offer a free service, but we werent bothered to ask for this as it was a pleasure giving the tuk tuk drivers the business.
