Great location, beach front, the room is nice and the staffs are nice. We feel quite relax in the hotel, the swiming pool is great! Strongly recommend to try the beach front massage, which is about 3 mins walking from the hotel.

Some facility need renew.

We do like this hotel, and the location is right on the beach, but also very close to the center that you can easily swift from the silience to excited.

1) Location, location, location. Best beach front location in close proximity to all the restaurants and shops; 2) Nicely refurbished spacious rooms with balcony, many adjacent to the swimming pools 3) Typically hospitable Thai staff 4) Typically great Thai value 5) Cooling on shore breezes 6) Spa

1) Open air lounge, breakfast restaurant and common area may be too hot for some who'd prefer to be able to relax in air conditioning. 2) A little basic in some areas, especially breakfast quality.

Probably the best located hotel in this resort right by the beach and in close proximity to all the shops and eateries whilst just far enough away from the road not to have traffic noise, the Ao Nang Villa was a lovely place to relax for a few days with the soundtrack of the beaches waves and the breeze in the palms. If you are used to staying in 5 star resorts though you may find breakfast a spot sparse, old fashioned room keys quaint and the absence of WiFi odd, though this isn't really the sort of place you'd want to bring your laptop and be reachable. When I stayed in June the hotel seemed to have a lot of Scandinavian guests though the pools were not too busy. There seemed to be a 50/50 mix of couples and families staying there. The hotels add ons such as mini bar were unusually good value. Recommended.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The day trip to James Bond Island via the muslim fishing village at sea was set in mind blowing scenery. Recommended after seeing 'The Man with the Golden Gun'. Even if you don't do that, there's an abundance of great scenery and islands nearby so take some boat trips a huge memory card.

nice rooms

screaming children in pools

For the money paid, the rooms were quite nice. Robes, slippers, ample towels and toiletries were included. Stones through from an OK beach. Two huge and lovely pools. This was the problem!!! Big pools draw families with kids. Both pools were constantly full of screaming kids (10 and under) from 9AM to the pools closing at 7PM. If you have young kids you will love it. One pool has swim up bar but the kids play on the stools and jump off them into the pool. The rooms were lovely. Hotel will pick you up at airport for 800 Baht or take the tourist bus for only 150Baht. They drop you off at entry to AoNang Villa.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Walk or take tuk tuk (80 Baht)to beach where Centara boat landing is. Spelled somethig like Norrawhatt?? Much nicer beach than AoNang and quieter. It is much wider by boat pier.

The hotel is very conveniently located. We could just walk out and get a tuk tuk to move around. It is also very near to the local shopping area and to many restaurants. Rooms were large and bed was confortable.

Bathroom and toilet needs to be upgraded. Beach on hotel not very good to swim in as it has a lot of sea grass.

Overall it was a satisfactory considering the amount we paid for the hotel. Due to its convenient location allowing us to eat, shop or move around (tuk tuk, taxi or boat) made it very easy (as we had 3 children with us). Hotel had 2 pools which is good for the kids. Breakfast was good and had a reasonable spread. Service was good and staff was polite.

the process of getting pool towel is so unnessesary complicated. wasting time

My family had a really great time in Krabi. The hotel is located in the perfect place. You can walk all along the beach. there is two pool that we can enjoy. The staffs are very nice and helpful. If you like the privacy and friendly serving, this is the perfect place. The morning buffet is yummy. Great taste!!!!

close to macdonald, starbucks and all the shops... very convenient for browsing around and quiet

The breakfast was so so. The bacon was hard because it was cooked for many people. So it wasn't so fresh

The hotel is in a convenient location -- Many shops right in front and across the road. Many money changers there also although the rate may fluctuate. However, the hotel is right by the sea and a lot of happening like massage at the beach or in front of the pool. There is a spa which offers comprehensive service. Many restaurants and cafe around the area. Quiet although it's in the centre of town. I wouldn't mind coming for a quiet holiday with my family.

Shopping Tip : Try to bargain as much as you can and you will not be disappointed

location is great.does not get better actually.hotel is great as well.good facilities.two pools.comfortable room size of the superior rooms.

they have a strange towel system that involves a token system but their towel counter is not always open which makes things very inconvenient.the limit was when the receptionist asked me to carry the towels down physically during check out.breakfast was repetitive and not so great.

its one of the best hotels in aonang.well priced.the location is extremely convenient.bars, convenios, shops, currency right around the corner.every thing is quite efficient.the housekeeping does a wonderful job of clearing the rooms.there are very reasonable massages available both inside and just outside the hotel.the only downside is that the aonang beach is not so great and we had to go to other nicer beaches almost every day by long tail boats.

Restaurant Tip : stick to restraunts which u have good reviews of.we had good experiences in blue mango and annings.not all as good.

Great Pool, nice room (only the refurnished ones in rooms starting with 7XXX or 6XXX. Though small, these rooms are new and very cosy unlike the old rooms which are huge but lack the cosiness. Food is so so... but the location is great. It's walking distance to all the restuarants and shops. Highly recommended is a local thai rest. called "Dragon" which is just across the road of the hotel. We had almost all our meals there. Dont waste your money on Indian food in Krabi. They are Crab.... Most of the Hotel staffs are Ok although one or two reception staff are not so friendly and flexible.

The walls between the rooms are not thick enough. You could literally hear what was going on in the next rooms. Make sure you dont get a room that is next to a family with small babies or children. It's going to make your holidays a peaceful one. I would suggest the hotel try to accommodate guests with families in one specified block and separate them from other guests. This will minimise the crying and the wailing of crying babies and noisy children screaming along the corridors and in the room. Airport transfer by taxi should also be made available and not restricted to only the transport available by the hotel because they are more expensive. Difference is about Thb200 per taxi. Hotel staff should be instructed to assist guests in getting local taxis too. Beds are hard, so request for extra padded mattress. This helps a little. Aircon too noisy even when switched to low fan.

We stayed at this hotel from 24th to 28th May 2009. When we checked in, we were given the old room which was not refurnished. It was a hugh but they do not give us a king sized bed. So the joined the 2 double bed which was really uncomfortable. The beds were really hard too and my husband and I both woke up with sore back the next day. The hotel was not fully booked (about 50% occupancy). We finally could not take another night with the hard beds and decided to move to another room which I gathered later that the room we are presently staying are not the refurnished rooms. When we asked about the new refurnished rooms, we were told they are small and the beds are the same. Anyway, we insisted to see the rooms and noticed that the room, though smaller is much more cosier and fresh. Spent the last 2 nights and enjoyed the rest of the holidays.

Restaurant Tip : Highly recommended the "Dragon" Thai restuarant which is just across the main road of the hotel.

Good location to beach, shop and food

More breakfast selection especially for young children.

The hotel is conveniently located and within walking distance to shops and food area. There's McDonald, Pizza and Swensons for those who doesn't like local Thai food. It is also facing the beach and very convenient to go for a stroll in the evening or morning to see the sunrise or sunset....The hotel is nicely decorated. Our room is located on the 1st floor but created a nuisance to the couple next door due to playful noise created by our 5 yrs old girl. Breakfast is simple and one can request for fry eggs, omelette etc.. Fussy eater may not like to selection of the breakfast.. Overall we like our stay in Ao Nang Villa Resort. Would recommend anyone who travel to Krabi..

Travel tip : Near the beach....

Good facilities.

There is no free wi-fi for guests. If you want to use internet, you have to pay quite expensive rate. It should be inclusive.

This hotel has good facilities and services but there is no free wi-fi for guests. If you want to use internet, you have to pay quite expensive rate. Unlike other hotel, this should be included in the room rate. The food menus of the hotel restaurant is delicious but it is not various. Overall is good but not considered satisfactory.

Hotel Feature Tip : Good hotel.

Hotel near Sea

Mosquitoes, pathetic Breakfast, no Lift

Actually this is my first time visiting Krabi via Phuket. The front staff is very polite. The room is quite spacious But not worth the price I had pay for low season. Pool is nice though. No lift in this Hotel. And Krabi is basically a queit town in low Season. The Ao Nang sea was very Dirty and the view was block by some construction Ship. will not visit Krabi again thou!

Travel tip : Nothing much to do in Krabi. Boring town!

convenient location, nice pools, good breakfast

Should vary breakfast buffet, it got boring after a few days of the same food!

The hotel location was convenient, rooms were decent for the price but they charged us extra 1000baht for an extra bed which i felt was rather exhorbitant for that class of hotel! They had complimentary afternoon tea for guests but only serve 1 or 2 types of cakes...Rooms were spacious and fitted our family of 5 well with the extra bed. They had Thai massage by the pool and prices were decent at 200baht for a 1 hour massage, we love the pools and there were 2 to choose from. The hotel needs a lift though as it was tired looking with peeling paint, etc..

Location, beautiful pools and very efficient and friendly staff

No areas for improvement.

Our group of 9 Aussies stayed here last week for 5 days. We wish it was for longer! Found the resort to be in a perfect location. Across the road was the beach, for a swim or early morning walks. The breakfast area overlooks the ocean, with a good selection of foods. A walk out the front of the hotel and you are right in the area for shops and restaurants. We loved the swim up bar and also the restaurant for snacks and meals was very reasonably priced. Rooms were immaculate and we were very happy to be upgraded to sea view rooms! The staff were always friendly and the front desk staff were helpful with booking tours. Also very quick with check out. Overall we all had alot of fun and if travelling to Krabi again would definately stay at the Aonang Villa!

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Really enjoyed the 4 islands tour. Also had great fun horse riding on the beach with Krabi Nature Horse Riding. Great little Indian Restaurant along the Aonang Beach Road adjacent to the Irish Pub.

Close to the beach, massage service onsite was brilliant and inexpensive, staff were friendly with the exception of the check in lady, location is great for shopping and relaxing, room was comfortable and clean

No free internet, check in lady was unfriendly for the 8 days we were there, the inhouse laundry service was less than acceptable and expensive does not explain the charges (34, yes 34 (not 3 or 4)times the prices of the local laundry - total rip off)

Would recommend this hotel to stay when in Ao Nang. Do not use the hotel inhouse laundry service as it is past the point of expensive and clothes came back with stains on them. Use the local laundry.

Hotel Feature Tip : Massage service was exceptional and inexpensive

Large, well appointed rooms, smart public areas, gorgeous spa

Extremely poor reception and check in. Worst breakfast we ate on our trip to Thailand.

The position of Ao Nag Villas makes it perfect for a stay close to the beach, bustling town and long tail boats for trips out to the islands and idyllic beaches. The downside of that is in certain areas it is noisy and the road traffic noise prevents any form of relaxation, as does the thumping music at the pool bar. The larger of the two pools at the resort though is much more quiet, but also busy as everyone tries to avoid the noisy pool. Ao Nang villas also has a conference center. In the two days we spent there a trade show was in full force, then dismantled, and immediately the center was reset for a large celebration, dismantled and then prepared for the Australian Embassy Convention. We spent a lot of time climbing over boxes and trying to avoid work men just in order to get to our rooms. Such a large hotel makes it difficult for staff to offer any of the attention to guests that we had become used to on our trip through Thailand, check in was perfunctory and breakfast a joke, self service, low standard food and unhelpful staff. On an up note, the spa is beautiful and the staff very welcoming. The gardens are beautifully landscaped, the rooms generous in size and very well appointed. If I had known about the noise in the hotel I would have booked a garden room, not a sea view. I would not go back to Ao Nang Villas and was very glad I was only staying for two nights.

Restaurant Tip : Head for the seafood alley tucked off the main street next to the beach for a wealth of excellent fish and seafood restaurants.
