Overall a lovely hotel, location was great as just a short stroll to the beach. Had a few problems with the water in the bathroom and not an ideal set up but generally the room was very nice, clean and tidy. staff helful with all problems.

Good location, reasonable price, relaxing atmosphere.
Not very friendly front office staff, maintenance needed on air-conditioning and limited breakfast food selection.
The best thing I liked about the hotel is the location. It's close to the beach and Krabi night life. When we checked in, the front office male staff was not exactly the friendliest person. Luckily, our room was great. It was facing the pool but was slightly secluded by some palm trees which was great as it gave us some privacy. They even gave us a couple of umbrellas but we're unsure if that's because we went during the green season. The bad thing was the air-conditioner in our room was leaking and was really loud. The water was not really clean either but I guess it was not really anything the resort could do anything about it. The breakfast food selection was rather limited but my friend really enjoyed the mixed fruit yogurt!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Along Ao Nang beach are several massage huts that you can bargain for a really relaxing massage. Recommend you go to stall No. 11 Lily and Ita, 2 really friendly thai ladies!

A Thai guy duty on 14/03/09 night 9.30-10.15 make me feel the front services of the hotel very poor. Pls investigate & perhaps give me an answer.All staff is ok except the Guy. Even the cleaners is more polite than he does.
During my stay on 14/03/09 night around 9.30-10.15pm, is a raining night. i, my husband & 3 son around the lobby to wait for the rain stop. The chairs at internet corner is wet. i try to ask the reception girl to dry it but she seem to not understand what i say. She ask another Guy,then the Guy use very very impolite sound to ask me what i & my sons try to do? And He also said there is nothing we can play with the computer. It sound so rude and not polite. He also quiry me as i am not the guess at the hotel. i feel very disappointed on the Guy. Please help to find out, prefer give him a warning or set him. he is quick tall and slim. He make me feel very very disappointed with the hotel front services.

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. First impression, it was trying very hard not to be a hotel shoe-horned into the busiest part of ao nang. It was literally built into a row of shop houses. Both our rooms, while being of a good size, were on the ground floor so the balcony opened to a footpath, and anyone walking past could look into the rooms if the curtains were open. The front doors opened out to what can only be called a badly maintained part of the hotel, with (very) visible air-con condenser units right in front of the doors. The pool was alright. Breakfast was fair. About the only good point of this hotel is its central location to most shops and pick up points for boat trips.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : boat trip to Chicken Island about 30min away, 300THB per person or about 2000THB per boat that can fit up to 10

They have a large pool area with many sun chairs.
It stinks like the sewer most of the time.
The pool does not have a filtration system so they just dump a lot of Chlorine in the pool, its kinda gross.
The bathrooms are gross, ours had mold and spider webs under the counter above the sink. The showers are terrible to. The shower heads suck and the shower leaks water all over the bathroom.
The bed's are rock hard and the pillows are some of the worst I have slept on.
Laundry service it way too expensive.
The staff speaks minimal English.
Breakfast is ok but one of the weaker ones I had while in SE Asia.
One of the staff members who served me a beer had open sores on his hand and wrist.
Overall the Best Western Ban Ao Nang resort was by far the worst value for the money on our trip to SE Asia. We stayed at a total of 7 different hotels and this was the worst and the second most expensive (We were staying over new years which was part of the reason for the high price). Staff speaks next to no English. The bathrooms are gross and the shower don't function well. The hotel stinks very badly as they have open holes to the sewage tanks. The pool is also not very clean as it does not have its own filtration system. The pool area was quite large though and they had many sun loungers. These conditions may be the norm in Ao Nang at other hotels but I can't say. Just don't expect much from this hotel, though it is Best Western it is "privately owned and operated."
Shopping Tip : Don't do your laundry at the hotel. There are many places very close that will charge a fraction of the price compared to the hotel.

Best Western Ban Ao nang resort is an acceptable hotel. Location is great for beach and island trips. Hotel is nice and clean, but with a bad smell from the garden in building #1. Service attitude was unusally poor. Staff not very knowledgable, never managed to get a wake up call made on time and showed little or no interest to ensure we felt welcome to the hotel.

Breakfast was good with Western and Thai choices.The room was cleaned everyday with cleaned bedsheets,towels and replenished complimentary bottle of water.One good point-they provide each room with umbrellas(Excellent use during raining season)
My parents felt that its standard-double bed mattress is too low.
We had our rooms facing the swimming pool eventhough we book a standard room.In addition,the hotel is newly renovated and looks very new.My family like the convenience and its strategic location of the hotel where food,entertainment and beach is within a mere 5-8 minutes walk.Furthermore,the next beach Nopparat Thara Beach is just 300-400 metres away. The hotel is directly opposite Beach Terrace Hotel.
Travel tip : Check for the best deal - half day/full day tour with the many tour agent around the Aonang beach.Many Western,Italian,Thai food next to the hotel.Many Seafood restaurant facing the beach are just behind the Beach Terrace Hotel.

Great hotel, nice, neat, good rooms.
As the name suggested, the hotel is really cool. Great room, nice hotel and friendly staff. The rooms are spacious and is very near to the beach. the breakfast as well very good with a good selection of items . hotel is very nicely done up with greenery. good facility and restaurants and other entertainment options very near to the hotel. we were given a upgraded room without any charge was as well very nice.
Nightlife Tip : close to all entertainment.

We stayed in a superior room with 2 beds, one double and one single. Everything was in order. Safety box, TV, AC, refrigerator, hair dryer, 2 bottles of water every day. The balcony could be bigger. It was OK for us two, but for 3 persons it must be crowded. The hotel has an excellent location. Most of what you need just outside the hotel, minimart, taxi, travel agency, massage, restaurant, shopping and more.......Would recommend this hotel to friends

the rooms do not look like the pictures posted on the website. when we asked hotel about this they said lots of clients pay too much for these rooms. the staff were unconcerned that the rooms did not meet expectations and infact the standard rooms are appauling so we had to upgrade on aarrival to superior, though superior in style they are not. just a bit better. anyway... if we had not already paid for this hotel via agoda we would of turned around and not stayed there. the breakfast was poor and sat in sun all morning, hotel pool was dirty and the general grounds and cleanliness were shody. however the location is great and is next to a supermarket, restaurants and travel agents...
Hotel Feature Tip : only stay here if you have low expectations and want a great location

Staff friendly.
Hot water extremely variable.
This is a reasonably comfortable and friendly hotel. Our bed was particularly bad though and we struggled to get hot water most of the time. Another negative is that the poolside bar shuts at 7pm-ish. On the plus side, the restaurant next door is good. The location is also particularly good for shopping, eating etc.

The room was nothing like the photos. We upgraded to superior room because we were so unhappy with the room we were given, but not really worth it... it was just as bad. The bathroom flooded every time we showered. The room smelt, the outside areas stank. The staff were rude. The pool was grimy.

Where we were located we had to pass a smelly sewer drain which was propped open most of time. We felt as pre-booked Best west Gold Card Holders we should have been allocated a better room location. We will probably stay at the other best western next time
The hotel is well located with own car park (important at busy times) . Nice rooms and relaxed poolside bar /breakfast room . Good value for money. Very well laid out . Breakfast and snacks -good ,service good. rooms good and spacious. The hotel easily merits its star rating and is very popular with Scandinavian and German families. Even so never had a problem getting a sunbed or bathing towel.
Restaurant Tip : Carnivore Restaurant--Excellent Steaks and other selections.
