friendly staff, near Nopparat Beach, very good restaurant, nice rooms
50 baht charge when ordering from room service, on top of high food and drink prices
the hotel is located near Ao Nang and very close to Nopparat beach. So in 10min you are at the center of Ao Nang, in case you walk. The rooms are very nice, considering the price. The pool is also nice, however they were remodeling something around that area so it was quite noisy. The staff is friendly and the tour/ticket office has cheap rates. I guess the best hotel for price/quality in Ao Nang.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Kayaking at Koh Hong!

Nice hotel. Would stay there again. Very clean, nice rooms, great staff. location is almost across from the beach, just a 3 minute walk. Shopping is around the corner about 5 minute walk. Had motorbike for rent. Aonang is pretty small but a fun place. We took a long tail boat tour for the day, good deal, 400 baht.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Longtail snorkeling tour.

Very friendly, helpful & accomodative staff.
Clean & cozy room.
Reasonable price.
Limited selections of breakfast.
Lots of mosquitoes in the room.
The staffs are very friendly, accomodative & flexible to our requests & it is definitely a good choice for family travelling with young children.
Unlike the hotels in Bangkok, the staff did not even ask for any deposits or fill up forms when we borrowed an adaptor from them.
The room was clean & comfortable.
Possibly due to slow season, we are given the same old limited selections of breakfast for the 5 days of our stay which was quite boring.
Definitely need insect repellent as there are many mosquitoes in the room.
Price is reasonable & we feel enjoyable during our stay & would like to come back again in future.
Travel tip : Within walking distance of the hotel we found nice road side food stalls selling local Thai food which are delicious & inexpensive.

Near de main road. Good breakfast. The deluxe room is spacious.
The breakfast was just ok.
I and my fiancé liked to stay there. The room (luxury) was good, spacious. The staff was gently, the hotel is near many restaurants and tourism agencies. Have a good swimming pool with a bar, but the cocktails there are overcharged. We stayed in krabi for only two nights, but enjoyed.

The pool is great. Location very nice.
There is a lot of musquitoes at the room, maybe a net around the bed yould be a good idea.
The staff was extremely helpful, always a smile on their faces and you feel welcome. The pictures online match what you get. Something the hotel could ask the local authorities to do: It is quite difficult to know your way, better signs would great. We went to the "bad" beach the first day, and were quite unhappy, but second day - we found the way to the "great" beach.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Ask the staff to find the way to the good beach - Ao Nang, and how to get to the main center, or you might be dissapointed.

New hotel, nice and clean rooms. Good location approx. 5 mins walk to beach front, centrally located to food court and shopping stalls.
Pool too close to room and noise from guest can be disturbing.
Enjoyed our stay, the staff were friendly and helpful. Love the rooms and big bathroom. Perhaps the breakfast spread should improved with local food such as noodles soup and tom yum khung. We had to hunt high & low from the local restaurants. Not much activity within the hotel, except for the cozy pool. Will re-visit again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Need lots of bargaining with the variety of stuff sold at the sidewalk stalls. Must do the 4-island hopping on the speedboat (not the long tail boat) and visit serene and beautiful beaches on these islands.

The hotel has an impressive lobby, especially at night when the lights are lit. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. They were very obliging, which I think is their strongest point so far.
Breakfast was not fresh! I think this is totally unacceptable. There were insects swarming the cold cuts and fruits served. There were lots of mosquitoes, to my opinion. This is mainly due to the huge drain at the side of the hotel which separates them from the adjacent resort.
Hotel is situated at the end of Ao Nang beach, approaching Noppharat beach. You would have the opportunity to walk the whole length of the shops along Ao Nang beach if you live here. Resort is easily accessible by public transportation. There's a bus that takes you straight to the airport for 150 baht per person. I must say the bus is really comfortable! Air conditioned and they have a designated area for luggage. The hotel has an impressive lobby, especially at night when the lights are lit. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. They were very obliging, which I think is their strongest point so far.
Restaurant Tip : I-San restaurant located at the food court just 100m away from the hotel. Try their fresh coconut & coconut shake. It's out of this world.

On going construction is more severe than reported. Expect dusty hotel lobby and noise till 10pm at night.
The Buri Tara is a pleasant hotel built with a lot of care. One of the most accessible of a handful of similar hotel in the vicinity. Pleasant paved 5 minutes walk to the charming little tourist village where all tourist necessities are available. The public beach in Aonang is one of the most unspoiled I have seen in Thailand. Breakfast is simple affair with generous helpings.
But the construction next door is causing dusty hotel lobby and almost impossible to swim as there are many workers looking right down at the pool from next door. Noise ongoing till 10 at night, but not too bad if you close your curtains and windows.
Would return when construction completed.
Shopping Tip : The moderate size mini mart just next door is impossibly expensive. Try the 7-11 nearby.
Travel size shampoo there sold at Baht49 compared to Baht 20 in 7-11. What a rip off.

Hotel facilities are considered to new
hotel surroundings are having construction projects building some hotels. The construction worker work until 23:00pm everyday.
The most hotel staff cannot speak English functionally so it was quite difficult for me to communicate with them when some requests were made. In terms of staff's service standard, considered OK but too far to be considered to the professional level. However if you want to stay in new and cleaness hotel, this hotel is the one you can chose but I suggest you brining ear plug in case you cannot cope with construction sound pollution.
Restaurant Tip : I found one coffee shop named Black Canyon Coffee on the way to Beach from the hotel. They serve some varieties of nice coffee. It worths to try.

If you're thinking of doing a Thai cooking class do it with the Siam Cooking school. They are fantastic. They didn't have my favourite dish on their menu but I asked in advance and they included it as one of my dishes to cook.

Shower room is not good. Design, floor material, water flow should be improved as this kind of room charge in Thailand.

At the moment of visiting the hotel only has opened recently. We reserved the pool access room. It was very pleasant, though and it is excessive. Unfortunately the pool not so big also was cool enough.
Room furniture modest but with taste. Windows are all the day long in a shade, therefore in a room not so hot.
The personnel on a reception extraordinary affable and smiling.
Breakfasts were usual as it is possible to expect in hotels in the south of Thailand. Special delicacies are not present, but also with hunger you will not die. Salads, fried eggs, an omelette, bacon. Have pleased water-melons with pineapples and very tasty yogurt.
The hotel is not directly on Ao-Nang, it is a little behind small mountain. Ao-Nang street is very close, it is possible to reach for two minutes.
A-oNang has seemed very small, for a day we have passed it some times, and next day it became boring already.

Overall is acceptable but do not expect much. Overrated, with similar rates you can get a better hotel along Ao Nang Beach.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Good place for adventure, ie. kayaking in the mangrove, elephant trekking, etc
