Beachfront, very nice rooms and great servi9ce

A bit busy.

This resort is very nice- nothing goes without an added touch. It is however very busy. It is huge and while we were there almost completely full. The beach and pool area stays very busy. It is also a bit pricey. There are no other options as far as food so all you can eat is the food at the resort. The food is very good though. The rooms are amazing, the beds, view, and bathrooms are 5 star. The service is also excellent. The general manager Thomas was very kind and went the extra mile- we left our computer there and they hand delivered is to PHUKET for FREE!! We were blown away! I do recommend.

Restaurant Tip : The Japanese restaurant is great- the sushi there is incredible!

Elegant

Difficult to go to town

As you can know, Centara Hotel Group is a luxuary and 5-star hotel. You won't regreat if you stay here at this Centara Krabi. The room is very large as well as the bathroom and terrace. Let say the it's the 5-star hotel as we expected. We also enjoyed Kayaking, very excited since we try to go to Railey's Beach but the wave was too big so we failed. But very good experience. The only bad thing about this hotel is it's located on the isolated beach. So if you want to go our to the Aow Nang Shopping Area, you have to use the hotel's free shuttle speed boat which service only 4 - 5 times a day from 8am to 10 pm. The interval is 2 hours. Otherwise, you have to climb the mountain and walk to the shopping area. It took us about half an hour to arrived the shopping area.

Hotel Feature Tip : KAYAK is very exciting. Try it if you dare!

Food, filth, service

If food poisoning and a 3 star hotel masquerading as a 5 star hotel is your ideal vacation then this is the place for you. Not only did I have a bout of food poisoning, but other guests I spoke with suffered as well. Flies covered the fruit salad at the breakfast buffet and ants crawled over the tables. During one meal I witnessed a young British couple on their honeymoon order hamburgers for lunch. When they bit into them, the meat was cold and undercooked. They sent them back to the kitchen. The burgers were then returned, reheated thoroughly with bite mark intact! Our room was not cleaned properly and the staff was lethargic and uninformed. Although the setting is gorgeous amidst the rock outcroppings in the bay, you must take a boat to the hotel and into town (unless you want to walk over the mountain on a rather shoddy and broken wooden walkway). In town the boat drops you off and picks you up in the water as there is no dock. This was particularly difficult for older people and children and the staff was of little assistance. This could be a great resort but it is woefully mismanaged.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Rent a longtail boat with driver in town and sail the islands in the bay and snorkel from wonderful secluded beaches. Only 2000 Baht for the boat for the entire day (up to six people).

nice environment, nice views, food taste okay

very over-priced massage and spa, very tiring to go from hotel to mainland

good in overall. However, if stay in a room on high ground, it's very tiring to walk. Also, very difficult to go out of hotel area. Food taste okay. Service okay. Air-conditioner doesn't work very well.

Centara beach resort is one of the best resort I have ever been to. The service is excellent, the room was beautiful (garden view, the cheaper).

The problem was that we couldn't easily go downtown when we wanted, 'cause the residence was quite isolated and the only way to reach Ao Nang was by speed boat provided free of charge by the hotel at fixed time (only 4 time a day) up to 10.30 pm. If you miss the boat you must walk down through a passage over a hill with almost 700 steps.

Very beautiful experience.

Nice view..
Enjoyed the Room

Beach is not that nice..
High priced Food and Drink
Quality of food at the resort was poor compared to the price that was charged
Low Quality Towels
Unfriendly Staff
Shuttle boat not offered on a regular basis as advertised..had to pay for a private water taxi
-Poisonous Snakes along the walking Trail from Resort to AO NANG town....BEWARE>>Saw 3 snakes in less then 5 minutes...2 Black poisonous...and then when we started running back..we saw a Crazzzy Big One..

The setting of the resort was quite nice, lush with gardens and many water features..However, we were generally disappointed with the quality of the meals available to us. The staff was not very friendly, were not service oriented...we always had to ask for something..even at the beach bar"on the rocks"...most days..there was 7 to 9 guys working there...standing around and chatting amongst themselves not servicing the quests who are paying good money.

Restaurant Tip : Leave the Resort for dinner Take the boat shuttle into AO Nang at nighttime...Save BIG MONEY>>

Good hotel architecture and atmosphere Big room and comfortable and nice style

Worst reception service at check-in! Poor staff services in overall may be insufficient service staff. Hotel location is difficult to access in and out Hotel policy allows overbooking the room and pressures the customers to accept voucher for food or spa instead of refunds. Door lock is not in good condition. Need to walk up lots of stair from the restaurant facilities to the room - not recommended for senior people

Worst hotel to stay with worst service and long walk from hotel facilities to rooms and long-distance from city to hotel with limited access but only provide free shuttle boat only 4 times a day. Once you make a reservation, they will not refund or care what you book the room at what price but they will pressure you to accept several food discount coupon at minimal value. And Again, very poor services and staffs are not very welcome.

Location, rooms.

I had recently had surgery on my knee and this was a tough hotel to stay in. Lots of hilly bits and stair and NO lifts.

You're vaguely trapped because the hotel is only accessible by boat so if you want to go 'walkies' you have to pre-organise a spot on the 'boat taxi' and if it's full you have to get a private one.

Centara beach resort is one of the best resort i have ever been to. It is situated on a beautiful beach, the hotel is designed lovely, the food is superb, the service excellent. What else do we want when we go on holiday?

Everything is too expensive comparing to the rest of the hotels.

Private beach, private outdoor Jacuzzi tub, wonderful ocean/beach view.

The only thing I wish I had was free wifi in our suite....but I know this is uncommon for any hotel/resort.

We stayed at the Centara Grand at the last minute during our honeymoon. The hotel we booked in Ao Nang was not so great (Ao Nang Sunset) and after all it was our honeymoon! We loved being taken to the hotel by jet boat! The resort is lovely, staff and service was amazing. We ate dinner at the Thai restaurant within the resort - it was expensive for Thai standards but within reason for Americans - it was a great way to sample several Thai dishes prepared very well. The breakfast buffet was great too.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The walk over the wood pathway over the mountain to Ao Nang beach is quite an adventure - we saw a monkey! You can also walk to Ao nang Beach area when the tide is low.

Great services, clean and full facilities, delicious meals, perfect settings, beautiful and charming atmosphere.

Times for shuttle speed boats.

At first, we're surprised that we actually need to catch the shuttle boat to the hotel. But once arrived at the Deluxe Room, all the amazed became so overwhelming. The room was the best with balcony plus great and perfect views for our honeymoon. All the decoration to celebrate us as a "couple", made us so impressed. Not to mention the service, all the staff there were a great help to us. Loved it and definitely going back.

Hotel Feature Tip : The pontoon or bridge from boats to hotel is sort of an adventure. At first thought it's so scary but then felt so secured from the guards walking along with us. After 4 days staying there, then we got use to the way the pontoon works and liked it.

very secluded & private,safe,room service,views

nothing

great hotel, great service.great location....just fabulous. was secluded from main land & we had to catch a boat to the hotel. we got picked up from hotel reception which is on the main land & were greeted with fresh wet towels, cold drinks & fresh fruit.we were also informed of all travel requirements etc eg. wear sandles for beach walk to get on to boat...once at the hotel we were taken to our room.we had a magnificent view of the ocean.the balcony was very private & great to sit down & watch the sunsets.we took the daily boat rides back to the mainland for dinner at the mainland restaurants.the room service was a little expensive however we just bought back supplies with us each trip we took to the mainland.the floating pontoon was sooo much fun to walk on.when we left i was in tears because it was the most perfect holiday i had ever had.my heart will always be in Krabi.staff are very friendly & most spoke good english.

Travel tip : you can walk to the mainland by what we called the monkey trail....not for the faint hearted though because very steep but at low tide you can walk the beach, which is much quicker.the hotel had hourly boat trips to mainland aswell.stock up on alcohol at 7/11, you can buy between 11am to 2pm or 5pm to 11pm.take it back to your room.restaurants are very cheap on the mainland and much better value than hotel.be sure to book any day excursions through the hotel , it may cost a little more but at least you are guaranteed reputable business.would definately recommend pipi island & elephant trek.
