The resort is located at the most beautiful view of Aow Nang, privacy, and luxury. The room is large and comfortable. Guests can buy one day tour to the island and be picked up from the pier at the resort which is very convenience. It was very impressive and memorable trip.

The Centara at Krabi is a very nice hotel, with many positives, but some basic negatives aswell.
The positives:
Ocean view room - amazing view, layout is very nice, big bed, nice bathroom and shower.
Pool - very nice, big and relaxing.
Beach - excellent beach, clean and well maintained.
Food - very good quality and suprisingly cheap (for a high end hotel)
The negatives:
Organisation - there seems to be little communication between staff on guest issues. When we arrived the hotel had overbooked, so we were upgraded to another room. The room was not nice, dated and hardly prepared. After complaining, the staff assured us that the manager would contact us and arrange a new room. The next day the manager had not contacted us, so we went to reception. We spoke to a member of staff who did not know of our complaint, and got the manger for us. The manager also did not know of the complaint, apologised and arranged for a new room.
Room - the second room we had was clean, tidy and well setup. However the TV was very old, even though on their website it states rooms have flatscreen lcd - this is not the case. Also the room did have wear and tear and could do with an update.
Beach Bar - the beach is amazing, and the food served at the beach bar is very good quality. But there is a big problem of ants on the beach and in the area where you sit in the outside bar area. Some people may find this annoying - especially if there are lots of ants. It is something we just got used too, however if they got rid of the ants it would be perfection on the beach and bar.
Wifi/Internet - the wifi and internet is extremely slow and patchy.
So overall we had a very good time at the centara, if they can sort out the small issues mentioned above it would really be a perfect vacation place.

Neglected hotel in a wondeful setting

A setting between rocks and ocean is wonderful but the hotel bulit in 2006 is neglected and requires some remodeling. We had a Spa Deluxe Ocean room and the view was stunning. However, the room was small with no comfortable chairs. (It means you can spend your time only in a bed or on a veranda which is lovely but without air-conditioning and with mosquitos after sunset). Furniture was dark and grazed. A tub on the terrace was nice but dirty, lack of cleaning was apparent mainly in a bathroom. A safety box was not working and water pressure in a shower was poor. So do not expect too much luxury in this 5 star resort. Restaurants in the hotel are good but overpriced and because there is no driving acces to the resort you depend on a boat shuttle. Long-tailed boats to Ao Nang are fun but you pay 150 THB one way per person and the free boat service goes to a place with no bars and restaurants. You can also climb up a monkey trail which could be quite dangerous mainly at night. At least a pool is nice and a beach is really good.
