My husband picked this hotel from just a picture in a brochure and after reading some reviews we were somewhat nervous. The resort was wonderful. As part of our package we had the Club Facilities therefore check in was fairly quick and in the air-conditioning comfort of the Club lounge. We booked the one bedroom pool villa and loved everything about the room. It was located in the highest part of the hotel with stunning views of the bay and surrounding rock formations. The villa was very spacious with a king bed, separate entry area and separate lounge (where our 6 year old's bed was made up). Both the rooms had balconies (which the monkey's visited us on every morning) with views of the bay with bifold glass doors from the lounge opening up onto our own plunge pool and deck. (If you have the chance to book this room...do it!) The bath room was also spacious with separate cubical for the toilet and shower and a lovely large bath.
We walked down from the room very day but got the golf car back up as it is all up hill with lots of stairs. Breakfast was amazing and always very fresh. We loved the evening happy hour in the Club Lounge. We had booked to eat at the Rimi Saai but after sitting for 30 mins and not even being approached for a drink order we ate at the Lotus Court instead. The meal was lovely but expensive. All other nights we ate in town using the monkey trail.
We used the monkey trail every evening and yes it is steep at each end but it isn't difficult for any able persons. Our 6 year old thought it a real adventure. The first time we were all a bit wary of the monkey's but they never bothered us.
The beach was clean but murky which was apparently due to bad weather further north. Not able to snorkel off the beach. We used the kayaks to explore the surrounding area.
We loved our stay here and would recommend it.

The air con in our room was leaking. We asked them to fix on the first day and nobody showed up until we called at 10 pm and they tried to fix until 11 pm. We told them to come back tomorrow because we need to sleep. Next day, we had to remind them to fix the air con again. After several hours we came back to the room and found pools of dirty water all over the floor and the ceiling had a big hole. The maintenance guy was still trying to fix the air con. It took forever before the hotel manager changed our room after we demanded to change room. The second room there was no hot water. By this time, we were too tired to complain and just tolerated it.

We loved this resort. It has its own private beach, kayaks you can use, lots of wild monkeys wandering about, gorgeous landscaping, a fish pond (where kids can feed the fish), a childcare activity center, and an amazing pool. We had a wonderful stay there, and wish it could have been longer. The view from the room was lovely, and the room itself was nice and comfortable. You do need to keep your doors closed and locked or the monkeys will get in and break into your minibar.). My favorite thing about the location is the feeling of privacy from being surrounded by cliffs, yet being a short distance (via the monkey trail or a long tail boat) to Ao Nang where there are restaurants and shopping. Everything is very expensive on the resort property (food, sunscreen, drinks) but their food is quite good, and it's convenient.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
We walked the short (but steep) monkey trail to Ao Nang and found hundreds of monkeys on the beach. At first it was fun that they were climbing on us, but then a little boy got bitten by one, and we were reminded that they are wild animals. Please don't feed the monkeys. We saw many people come down with bags of food to feed them, and it causes problems because then they expect to be fed whenever they see people, and can become aggressive when you don't have food for them. My advice is to enjoy having them around, but keep your distance & do not feed them.

Thumbs up to the management of the hotels as the services provided was tremendous. Everything is very nice about this hotel, the beach, location, rooms, foods, the hill view, environment etc. One unfavorable thing about this hotel is the speed boat reservation. It's always full when we made the reservation, especially during morning hours. The hotel management needs to look seriously into this.
