Quiet beach resort with private beach area

The room was big and the resort had a nice private beach. Our stay was great except for the hassle of travelling into and out of the resort to the nearby town Aonang. We took a snorkelling trip to Hong Island and was picked up directly for the trip on our way there. However, the current was too strong when we returned and we had to trek through Monkey trail to reach our hotel with three tired kids.

It was a very unique experience for me my family, especially having live monkeys outside your room! The hotel is situated on a cove accessible only by boat or via a very steep trek on a trail with wood steps. Essentially, i'ts like having your own private beach. The staff are friendly. The food is great although the price is a bit high (typical for hotel food).

Nice secluded beach resort but a pain to get to

So getting the resort was a bit of a nightmare we got a taxi and got dropped off at a pier, this confused us as the resort said it was accessible by taxi. We ended up getting a boat (free of charge by the hotel) that left every hour and took about 10 minutes to get to the hotel jetty. The check in was simple and straight forward and we were then shown to our room. The room was perfect, nice view, clean, big bathroom and the the lay out of the room worked as the big bed was in the middle so you could see the view to the sea from it. The room also came with a good amount of balcony space with several loungers and chairs. The resort in general seems well laid out and the restaurants were good. The main issue with the hotel is that it doesn't have access to the main street and there are only two ways to get to the centre. One is to take the boat which is fine if you want to leave at the time the boat goes or the other is to take the "monkey trail". The monkey trail consists of a lot of steps up and down a hillside and does give you a nice walk through the national park where you can see monkeys but when you reach the other side of the trail they say you are on the main road but this is not the case and it is another 10/15mins walk to the main road and this is through dirty tracks that dont have clear signs to tell you were you are going. When it came time to leave it was easy to check out but frustrating as we needed to be at the airport at 10:15am and hence wanted to leave the resort at 9:30am but we were told there was only a boat at 8am or at 10am and if we needed to leave at 9:30am we could hire a private boat for around 4000 bhat! In the end after a lot of discussions with the management they decided to add another boat to the schedule for 9am. So in my opinion this resort is perfect if you want a get away with no contact with the outside world but if your looking for somewhere you can use as a base and head out in the evenings this might not be for you.
