A decent option
Swimming pool was nice. The small size and secluded nature of the hotel were welcome.

The Discovery Resort is a decent little place in a relaxed location. The staff do not speak much English and the food is only average but the rooms are fine and the pool is quite pleasant. For the price - it seems generally good value.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Check out the 'secret beach' - about a 3km walk from discovery and really pretty.

Nice hotel to relax far from the crowd

Resort is nice, quiet place and value for money. It can be a good choice as base for Kayaking.
It has not any wifi spot, I would suggest the management to add one in the restaurant/lobby.

Lovely place but out of the way . . .

Wanted a room for the night. I didn't want to be so far from the airport or the ferry to Koh Lanta.

This was a beautiful hotel. We enjoyed the staff. The food was decent. The only problem was that the water seemed to shut off at some times during the day. I think maybe because of pool cleaning. All in all a good clean quiet place to stay. Not much in the area as far as night life but that was just what we were looking for.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Enjoy the kayak tours in the mangroves. Bring food for the monkeys and keep the food separate from your belongings, so as not to have your bags rummaged through by the monkeys.

Remote location on busy river with a lovely pool

This was the second stop on this year's tour. It is far from any major resort and good destination to just relax for a couple of days. The river is quite wide and tidal, and canoe tours are available, as well as long tail boats from the pier to a nearly island. We did some good off-roading to get around. There are some other coastal tiny villages nearby with seafood and a simple and colourful reclining Buddha nearby. No a beach location, but the pool is a very nice addition for low cost accommodation.

We had good time to relax and also good activites at Tha Lane Bay,went to Hong island..It was such a wonderful place to snorkeling,sunbath and swimming..the resort is small but delicious thai food and fruit juice was perfect...we liked it !

Basic hotel in remote location

At the time of booking this hotel we were aware that it was not near any beach but we thought that it had a riverfront location. This turned out not to be the case as it was a walk of several hundred metres to the river. The cabin itself was clean but basic although the mosquito net was unuseable. Breakfast was an extra and really was not worth considering as there was so little on offer. In fact the best option for all meals was to walk several hundred metres to a restaurant overlooking the river where very good meals were available.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
It is agood location for boat trips to the outlying islands and sea kayaking trips in the estuary.

It is one of good place to stay.its totally different with Ao Nang but of course it is very charmful village.If anyone find somewhere quite and private.This resort is one of its....it is not really next on the beach,need to walk for while but it is not highlight of Tha Lane Bay,its better to go advanture by kayaking around mangrove forest and island near...in the evening, biking around the village is also not really bad....we love it!
