It was the first time in Ao Nang but not the last. The hotel was very beautiful (we were in bungalows near the swimming pool). The localisation was perfect considering shops, restaurants... It was very quiet. We enjoyed very much this place and also the massage team. We were four: 2 adults of 48 years old, and 2 boys of 17 et 7 years old... in low season (august)

very kind people, beautiful rooms, beautiful swimming pool, near the beach; a very good area, not far from shops and restaurants but very quiet

it is nearly perfect except the breakfast (the orange juice is not very good !!) and air conditioner (noisy)

This is an excellent resort in a wonderful location. Swimming beach is directly across. Breakfast buffet very good. Room was clean and overall cleanliness of resort, excellent. Pool was very nice. This is our first choice for our next trip to Krabi.

The night shift receptionist doesn't speak or understand English well, I asked for an adapter but he seemed to not understand what an adapter was and just answered that they don't have! Once I wanted to make a phone call, I called the receptionist and told him I want to make a phone call, his answer was "what time?" I explained to him I wanted tp make a phone call several times. Finally he said the phone had a problem so he can't help me to make a phone call!!

The breakfast was very good, but we ate out at other restaurants during the day as the prices were much better.

Hotel was basic and basically overpriced. Better hotels are available in Krabi for half the cost.

I really enjoyed it. Our deluxe rooms were fully booked so they gave us an upgrade for free to a bungalow.

Lots of families with young children stayed at this hotel.

• Hotel Feature Tip : Golden Beach has great massage facilities, go past the main entrance and you will come to an open air massage area. I had a Thai massage for 140 baht and a pedicure for 70 baht. Also highly recommend going on the four island tour and snorkelling. If you want to go to Railay Beach book a ticket with the longtail boats for Phang Na Beach, it's the next one along and much nicer.

Remember to bargain hard when you are buying stuff, except for food, in Krabi because you might end up getting a lot cheaper deal. Important note: At least down 30-40%!!!

• Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : It will prove to be economical and well taken care off if you book a package tour to visit the islands around Krabi (Phi Phi, 4 islands, Ao Thalene and Hong Islands) where the tour guide will bring you for a tour, kayaking, snorkeling (equipment provided) and lunch for around 1400-1600 baht per person. Cheaper and less hassle compared to sourcing on your own!
